The Restaurant At The Holiday Inn In Sharm El Shei

The restaurant at the Holiday Inn in Sharm el Sheikh was a self service buffet, but waiters frequently asked if they could get us another drink. The buffet was extensive. It became rather predictable, but there was plenty to choose from.

Our room was a reasonable size with large twin beds, TV, fridge, en suite bathroom and a balcony with table and two comfortable chairs. We could see the sea and Tiran Island, and we were not directly overlooked. We booked a trip to Cairo with Odyssey, and the same guide was with us all day from hotel pick up to return, and the guide made it one of the best trips we have been on.

The hotel shuttle bus went into Naama Bay twice a day, and taxis were easily available at other times.

We have enjoyed an excellent weeks holiday at this hotel.

Stayed At Holiday Inn Resort On B&b Basis Last Wee

Stayed at Holiday Inn Resort on B&B basis last week of January. Disappointed in general standard of hotel given its 4 star status, it's definitely more 3 star. Staff appeared friendly enough although always seemed to wait for tips for everything. We changed rooms on arrival and although downgraded from a suite to a standard room, receptionist tried to charge us extra and only relented after intervention from holiday rep. Not a good first impression! Room boys are meticulous in their cleaning of the rooms which sadly can go un-noticed in the shabby interiors. Thankfully only ate here at breakfast time which we found a rather unpleasant experience. Choice was uninspiring and waiters ignored pleas for more tea/coffee. There are quite a few pools at the hotel but only one is heated so gets very busy. Beach is only a short distance away and although it gets quite cramped and busy, the sea is warm and inviting and there is loads of marine life to see, so bring your snorkel.

Hotel is situated a few miles from Naama Bay where there is an abundance of shops, bars, restaurants, etc. Taxis are plentiful and fairly cheap, but advise to stick with hotel taxis as blue & white ones are only slightly cheaper and are driven extremely dangerously.

All in all, we had a good holiday. Weather was brilliant for the week we stayed there which made a big difference. Probably would go again, but would stay somewhere better than the Holiday Inn Resort.
