I Wouldn't Be Without Her. She Is Happy, Fun, I C

I wouldn't be without her. She is happy, fun, I can take her anywhere with confidence and I cannot imagine life without her. She has a big dog personality in a small dog; perfect! If I don't walk her then she exercises herself running up and down the stairs, and I have no problem keeping her in a town.

I would recommend the Hungarian Puli to anyone.

The Hungarian Puli Have Beautiful Hair And Differe

The Hungarian Puli have beautiful hair and different personalities. I have two a black three year old male and an apricot two year old female. The black one is mine and I have had him for two years. From the moment I saw him I fell him love, he is so loyal so smart and so adaptable he understands me. But this dog is not for everyone it suits different people. They are wary of strangers so training is required from the beginning. At the beginning my male was overly protective of me attacking everyone near me even my little brother. If not washed regularly and dried properly you do get a damp smell. The washing and drying overall takes around nine hours to do two properly.

I Purchased A Hungarian Puli Because I Liked The G

I purchased a Hungarian Puli because I liked the guard dog instinct of the breed and the way they look. Big mistake. Never buy a breed through looks alone as the personality is far more important. He was very loyal and would have defended you to best of his abilities and also kept a great watch on the house - but this involved him barking needlessly and sometimes constantly. As a sheepdog bred 1000 years ago to help isolated shepherds with their flocks it stands to reason town life is not really for this dog unless you can provide a lot of exercise and/or be there for them the majority of the time. They need stimulation and as such do not adapt to modern living so well. He caused trouble with the neighbours because of his noise and although I have seen Pulik at shows standing very quietly they all seem to return to their barking roots within home territory and even in the park.

He often smelt even after recent baths as the felt-like coat attracts twigs, dirt and all sorts of other objects. If you live in the country and want a great little guard and don't mind coat care (or will keep them clipped) then by all means go for a Puli. Otherwise forget it.

Well you are entitled to your opinion and i agree there are quieter examples of the breed. Most love the sound of their voices, however, and the coat does take a lot of work to keep in tip-top condition. If you don't wash it often they will smell.

It was my experience that they were too noisy and energetic.

I disagree with this review because... puli's are great fun and don't smell all the time all they need is a wash from time to time. They do bark alot but I don't agree that they bark as much as this person is saying.

He was rehomed. Far too noisy and energetic. The coat took a long time to dry but he never got skin problems.

Consider one at your peril.

Hiya, I just wondered, do you still have your Puli? If not, did you rehome him or did he stay with you until he passed away?

How do you look after the coats? And after a bath how long did he take to dry? Also, do they get skin problems?

Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks
