This PVR is not compatible with Hitachi TV's because the PVR remote control frequency changes the TV settings. It is also very complicated to use with poor instructions. The Customer Service from Humax is very disapointing.I would buy again.

This Humax is very easy to use; records 2 channels at a time; lots of space; you can export to recordable dvd or video if you want to keep any particular programme. Why bother with recordable dvd or video - this is so easy.

Good reviews of this model made me purchase PVR-9300 yesterday. Took it straight back to store as noise was so bad I could easily hear it above TV at normal sound levels. Wife said unacceptable. Store (John Lewis) said not had any problems with noisy units. I then reread some of the reviws and it is clear that the fans/HDDs are far from silent. If there is a wide sample variation from one manufacturer I would not wish to own one of their products. One certainly can't trust a mail order sample! Now what to do? Is the fan free Topfield my only option?

Had no knowledge of Humax before I bought the PVR-9000T but would definitely buy one again. Can record 2 programmes at same time & watch a 3rd
Easy to use & manual very clear

I've had this about a year, replacing an earlier digital hard drive that packed up on me. It was recommended by "The Independent". Mostly it has been okay. The new software upgrade should be a real boon. However, the slowness in loading the EPG is a real pain. Sometimes channels that loaded quickly the day before don't load in an hour the next day.
There is a way round the EPG problem, - just leave your box on all the time. But this over rides one of its good points, - that it is really quiet when you're not using it. That contrasts heavily with my previous box that whirred loudly like a PC all the time. You can get round the EPG problem by just typing the start and end times into the Program me Scheduler, but if the EPG hasn't loaded you're stuck with no program me name on your list. A simple edit facility is all that is needed (my previous box had this). It also used to have a fault when using it in chase mode that it would shut down when the underlying program me finished so you had to go back to the pro gramme list and fast forward to where it stopped. Really annoying. They may have fixed this in the latest software release, but I haven't had cause to check it yet.Would I buy another one if this got stolen? Well, only after I'd checked out the opposition.

We have had the Humax PVR-9000T for 2 months now. To date (keep your fingers crossed!) we have not had any problems. This is one of the best bits of kit we have ever bought.
The EPG is really easy to use (once it has populated). It lets you search for programs by name or genre, so you can check out all the films being broadcast over the next 8 days or find all the episodes of your favourite program without going through all the listings. When you find a program you want to record all you need to do is highlight it and press OK. The machine does the rest. It will even start recording early and finish late in case the program doesn't run exactly to time. You can adjust how much extra it records.
It effortlessly copes with recording 2 programs simultaneously while watching one recorded earlier.
This machine will change the way you watch TV. Since we bought it we have hardly watched any live TV.
Highly recommended

The Humax PVR-9000T has the ability to record two programmes and watch another. Good recording system. Good versatile picture in picture allows you to continue watching small picture while choosing what to record. A good, well thought out piece of goods. Knocks the Panasonic recorders for six!

This pvr has been excellent in all aspects so far (5 months). If you have about £200 to spend on this type of product then you will be more than pleased with this one. The only thing is the amount of rubbish that is put on the t.v these days but that is not the Humax's fault. Recommended!!!

The Humax PVR-9000T hard drive recorder is very easy to use with a dual freeview tuner.

The Humax PVR-9000T hard drive recorder is everything I ever wanted in a video recorder without the hassle of tapes and horrible timer programming. I honestly believe this is the most well thought out PVR available. It's like someone designed it, used it and ironed out all the bugs before putting it on sale. I suppose this is because they've already done it before with the 8000. It has everything for the technophile, but it is easy enough for anyone to use.
I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Humax PVR-9000T does everything your Sky+ box does, without the subscription. It records 2 channels at once. Is easy to use and extremely easy to set up although it doesn't come with a USB cable.

The Humax PVR 9000T is an excellent Hard Drive recorder that I cannot fault.
I have not yet used it to download music or photo's from my PC, so I cannot comment on these features.

I've now had my 9000T for about 18 months and it's been faultless. There's been the odd day where a recording has been patchy, more in the early days if the signal dropped. But this has to be my most used household gadget and even now I still think it's my best. I've seen Sky's and Virgin's version and they're not patch on the Humax.
