“Don't buy from Bensons”

We bought our bed in February, had the delivery date changed several times by Bensons, lost the bed, given our bed to another customer, wasn't on the lorry when it was to be delivered, the bed frame is here, but we don't have the mattress. etc. Went into the store and asked for a refund, they said they would have to take a 20% cancellation fee (That would be £250-£300) or wait till the 30th July for the bed. “Avoid this company ”

This is the worst company I have dealt with in along time. The order was delivered wrong 3 times and I was was left with no bed for a while. Customer service was just as bad. It took months to try and resolve the situation and had to my money back via my credit card in the end. It partner company Harvey’s is going bust and I hope that Bensons goes the same way so that others will not have to suffer. I would not recommend buying anything from Bensons… Read Full Review

Appalling service from the start sold the wrong bed, and then had to wait 40 nights in agony, with some stupid policy they have, ordered new mattress, which they cancelled 4 days before delivery date, then no communication about what is happening, trying to speak or email them is impossible. this started in January!… Read Full Review

“Errors and awful customer service”

Awful experience from start to finish. 14 weeks after I should have received my bed, they have just informed me everything is out of stock until 1st September. They have given me incorrect information several times, made errors, failed to deliver on 2 occasions when they had told me the bed was coming and delivered appalling customer service both on the phone and in person. ZERO STARS. Mis-sold me a bed on 5th January. I swapped in store on 6th Feb for a more expensive bed with delivery scheduled for 6th March. My brother died suddenly, funeral was scheduled for 4th March. Begged them for a PM slot so I could pay someone to come and swap the beds as I would be on my own and grieving - not an ideal situation. They kept promising to call me back. Never did. My Mum purchased a pair of Zip and Link mattresses from Bensons for Beds in Congleton, Cheshire on the 18th January. With an additional pillow and some offers 'at the till' she paid £1209.98. The products were delivered on the 14th February, Mum was delighted with them. My Mum was admitted to hospital on the 10th March and passed away on the 23rd March. I purchased a wardrobe in December, which was then delivered flat packed in February. I took a half day to assemble this. The instructions were very bad, and I only got about halfway through before I had to call the service centre to decipher the instructions for me. On speaking to an advisor, neither he nor his manager could understand the instructions either. In the end, they had to find someone who had made the wardrobe before to tell me. “Poor customer service”

The customer service is focused on cancelling the terms of the contract to exclude warranties. They bri g up questions which lead to your exclusion. They do not accept a return policy but are ready to make an exchange for as long as a mattress is protected. However if same mattress was not in use it is considered unprotected and not replaceable. Very poor service. We bought Wardrobes back in July. One mirror door was chipped, one decorative panel was scuffed and one handle was missing. We called immediately and initially were offered a 10% credit which we declined (had we wanted defective wardrobes we would have bought from ebay). DO NOT BUY AN IGEL BED/MATTRESS OR ANY FURNITURE FROM THIS SHOP - TOTALLY MISLEADING AND A WASTE OF MONEY I have rated this company as a 1 star only because I couldn’t rate it as zero stars. Similar story. Damaged goods and missing handle. Five months later and nor replacement and still one handle short. I'm amazed that a company can't stich a handle in a jiffy bag and send it out to us.

We purchased the superking legend multimedia bed with igel mattress and 2 pillows in September 2018. First just the mattress and pillows turn up Jan 2019, no trace of the bed. Then 2 weeks later the whole order turns up. Boxes damaged mattress open and stained. Amp didn't work so we had no sound from the bed just from the TV. A warning to future customers. when visiting the store to view beds, furniture and you are not decided on purchasing an item right away. Please refrain from accepting their offer to print off the details of the item you are looking at but not ready to buy. “Pointless Guarantee”

Bed has broken in multiple places and Bensons claiming it is not covered by guarantee. Dreadful customer service it took over three months to get them to respond and then they just claim there is no manufacturing fault although the bed frame has broken in a number of places with the same problem. Having ordered a bed-frame which was delivered on time, I put the bed together to realise the USB ports were loose and not working correctly. I called the customer service line to be advised the waiting time was 87 minutes. This in itself is absolutely ridiculous so I obviously did not wait on hold for that amount of time. OMG!! Great when I bought the mattress in store, no problems, but it hasn't arrived when promised. OK, so this kind of thing happens all the time, no biggie, but just you try to get through to any of the 'help' lines provided. Similar experience. Longest 'hold' was 59 minutes. On one occasion I used the 'call back' option .. someone rang six hours later by which time I was no longer in a place where I could easily have a call. Very difficult to contact Bensons to address problems. My problem is still outstanding 5 months after Bensons agreed to sort it.
