Off road with illness for 5 years-not impaired for driving, just too poor. Paid for year insurance but did not own or have car beyond the year. Phoned for quote with new car 3 months later. Told I owed them £145 for continuing the policy-apparently automatically renewed-Nothing about that in literature. “Poor service”

Very angry with the level of customer service, promised call backs that never came, policy increased by £700 without agreement! one handler advised I'd receive money back then received further demand letters! Haven't paid £700 and they've now cancelled my insurance meaning that will be held against me for future policies! Go through trading standards
Complain against them on trading centre
They r no more quinn direct
Another company take-over it
Kindly lodge a complain so they wont do these kinda buisness anymore

False economy....initially the cheapest quote but I now know why. I had to jump through so many hoops to prove my NCB etc - all the time being sent emails and letters saying if I didn't get documents to them within so many days my insurance would cease. “Be wise and avoid at all cost!”

It might be cheap, but the service you get is horrible, I was a customer for more than 1 year, my policy got cancelled just like that ( never had any claims made with them), customer service is very arrogant and unhelpful, no one cares if you want to make a complaint they just ignore it. They will not provide a reason for cancelling your policy, despite all the complaints and phone calls. I have tried to cancel this policy more than once over the phone ,the lady on the phone was very rude , This company is a joke ,to open the policy over the telephone but not to be able to cancel over the telephone, this is a way of getting more money out of you. “I wish I'd read these reviews before paying them.”

They should be avoided. It's a false economy going with them even if they are cheapest. As others have said, they request further proof (copies of driving licences for example) and say ('To avoid cancellation ....') they need this in 10 days from the date they wrote the letter. They then cancel the policy even though their terms state that you have 21 days to return documents requested. I have gone to another insurance company, never have i had so much trouble to recieve a copy if my no claims bonus! I have rung everyday for the last 9 days chasing my no claims bonus, and every time i get hold.. Its being dealt it! In common with many people I went with the cheapest insurer on a comparison site. 18 months later, pulling out of a side road, car stopped to let me out, and I was hit in the side by a woman overtaking the stationary traffic on the wrong side of the road... So I joined Quinn and paid what I had too which went smoothly, I've just changed my car and insurance so canceled with Quinn I was told I had to send some documents to cancel and when they revived them they would pay what I'm owed back in full. Well it's almost a month later and many expensive phone calls speaking to rude customer care employees and managers and I've still not received my money. How I wish I read the reviews first regarding Quinn Direct. I was suckered in believing that the quote was good value, but experienced the worst of their customer service and unreasonable charges when notifying them of a change in circumstances. Numerous calls dealing with different individuals on each occasion who really couldn't give a damn about my concerns and about the information I had already provided fell on deaf ears. “Very dissapointed!!!”

As a new driver 3 years ago it was the best and cheapest car insurance company(£1800). I applied for third party, fire and theft I had an accident which was my fault(I disagree)but there wasn't any damage to another car only mine, the front bumper was falling apart.
