I watched this film on DVD way after its release and its sucess at the Oscars. To be honest I wasn't too bothered about watching it and so was totally shocked when I realised how good it really was.
The Charatcters I though were great, Clint Eastwood plays a convincing role as a coach who has had his day but is forced into taking on another boxer with Hilary Swank. He clearly has issues with the loss of contact with his daughter and as time goes on you see the relationship between him and…

I Bought Million Dollar Baby from Woolworths Channel Islands mail order. Expected a lot better. Have been a Clint Eastwood watcher for many, many years, through the 60s/70s/80s/90s. I agree with this review 110%! I struggled with this film and thought it was well over hyped although I did find it watchable but certainly not Oscar-worthy. I also agree entirely with your points regarding Unforgiven - if you want to see Clint and Morgan Freeman in a truly great movie then that is the one to watch.
