I have 4000 songs on my phone. Many I got from eMusic. It used to be that you could alternative artists and the vast majority of their music was available. Now, they've all disappeared. As I was away for awhile , I cancelled my subscription. Stupidly, I signed up again before looking at what was available. I cannot find anything to get.

I signed up using the free trial and did not download a single song. The songs are not even the original singers just some other artist I have no clue who they are singing the songs you are looking for. can't get Taylor Swift can't get the Dixie Chicks couldn't even get older music with original singers. I would not suggest anyone use this site its just a waste of time and if you pay money its a waste of that as well.

They make you think you're going to be able to download music of current artists like Taylor Swift, Maroon 5. But once you've signed up you find out its only artist singing their songs. A complete waste, they don't have any music you'll want to download and you can't get your money back. Don't deal with Emusic.

in the beginning... there was music, there was choice there was responsive customer service reps. like all things over time that grow, more money, less quality, smaller package, n its a use it or lose it program, they will take your money, the ability to dl has become increasingly more and more complex PIA unfriendly. and if you think your payin for music that's yours for future, even if you back up, once that puter crashes your music is TOAST, and you can not redownload or transfer from your back up hd!! does not compute! had 8 pgs of saved and its all been deleted or no longer available, n now its all cr ap that sounds like kids recorded it in a tin can... many are NOT original LP artists ...shoppin for something better ....too much money for not many choice, too much frustration for not enough enjoyment.... I'd give them a NEG 5* they "customer service" are condescending and like to imply that its a end user error (you!) I'll go back to buyin cds...

Until the middle of 2014 this site was awesome for getting music, old, new, indpendant labels as well as the most recent hits in all genres. But now all current music/artists have been removed and all that is left are obscure artists that most people have never heard of. If i could give them ZERO stars I would!! I lost the entire amount on my account for the last month that I was a member as I didn't realize they changed their format and it left me with no options for decent music nor would they refund my money. I think that was a complete rip off espeically since there was no notice of their impending format change prior to it just happening. I had 30 songs on my "save for later" list waiting for the new month so I could down load them and poof they were gone...if they go back to the way it was when i started as a member i would definitely consider re-subscribing but the way it is now...NO WAY!!!

I spoke to an exceedingly rude customer service representative who couldn't understand why I was upset that they were removing funds from my bank account without returning anything. She told me that I wasn't on a "rollover plan". I told her that I wasn't aware that I had to specify a preference for whatever plan didn't involve stealing money from me. I suppose it's in the fine print. She absolutely, no way, no how would refund any of my money or even CREDIT MY ACCOUNT. I may be out $160 but I'm thankful I don't work for emusic.

misleading service and non-refunding

This company is horrid! We haven't been using the account. We were on a monthly plan with then for $14.99 for years. And wile this account haven't been used they jumped the price up to $79.99. When we disputed it through our card company. Emusic sent a threat with my address, my boyfriends name and address and all the people they would be contacting. I am not a lier, and was a very loyal customer. Not anymore!

Do not like this company. I thought they rollover your money and they dont I only used this site for my daughters mp3 player and cost me alot I used it the first month and that it and have had this since June 2013. I will never use this again. I dont mimd a monthly fee but to keep all your money is bullcrap and should be illegal. I will not reccommend this company to anyone.

A $30 billing showed up on my debit card. This occurred 3 months in a row. I have never heard of emusic. After calling emusic they told me that the downloads occurred in the first months but none in the last tow months. It was for artists I had never heard of. They refused to reverse the charges. I am 57 and amazed that they can get away with this. Can't imagine that a company with such little regard for people could remain in business for long.

I, like many other people on here did not read the registration process properly and then forgot all about cancelling the trial before I was billed. I then realised £86 had been taken from my bank account on Christmas Day of all days, they refused to refund me a penny even though I swore I would not be using their service, so I had paid for a years subscription and didn't use it once. It was a very costly mistake and now I despise this company for not having the decency to do the right thing and refund silly people like me as a gesture of good will. Amazon on the other hand were fantastic when a friend forgot to cancel Amazon prime after free trial, she contacted them after noticing money gone from her account and they refunded her immediately no questions asked. Shame on you emusic.

Got the free trial and spent all of the money. I'm good. It worked fine. BUT, as an aspiring artist/music-lover I can most certainly tell that these tracks are not really that official. The quality of the music is slightly off, it's not as rich as buying the album or buying it on iTUnes. I feel almost positive that the tracks on the site are not official or approved by the company. Overall, I would say get the trial, spend the money in a week, and cancel the membership ASAP. If you're getting it for free, that's fine, I guess. But don't spend your money on this, when a few more dollars can get you something much better.

I have been an Emusic user for about 8 years, and I love it! I solely credit Emusic for expanding my musical horizons. This service is not for people who want to listen to Ryan Seacrest's top 40 hits. You won't find Rihanna, Metallica, or Taylor Swift in their collection. However, they have lots of great stuff from all over the world. Finally, I do not understand why subscribers are complaining about their price hikes. My plan's price has never gone up. Only new subscribers are affected by such hikes.

Their selection of music isn't great - mostly obscure stuff you've never heard of. I signed up to a two week free trial, but forgot to cancel it before I paid my first month's subscription. This didn't bother me so much because I figured the free credit would roll over and I could just use it later. It didn't. I lost all the free credit and then found it pretty difficult to spend the £9.99 subscription credit. There was little music I actually recognised and the website is not very responsive to commands. You click and nothing happens. It's not even easy to narrow down the search results. Lots of sifting through stuff you don't want.

Everybody is talking about the scam that eMusic is.... I have to disagree. Everything is clearly stated during the registration process, that if you don't cancel before your free trial ends you WILL be charged OR if you exceed your free trial credits you will be charged. It gives you an option of what plan you want to choose... Everything is also started in the Terms of Service and you can clearly see ALL of the information in your "Account" like - when you were billed, when you will be billed, how much you will be billed... The offer is there for a free trial (one per person), they have Audiobooks. They now even offer A La Carte. Everybody can view the site and see if the music selection is right for them - which they do have a big selection of music from all Genres. If for some reason you don't like - why even bother to sign up in the beginning?? Read up on things prior to being click happy and there wouldn't be an issue... Cancel prior to the trial ending and there definately won't be an issue if you didn't want to be charged.

I was promised proceeds from my record sales and got none - not only is eMusic bad for consumers, it rips off the artists too.
written by witombo on 22/02/2013
Waste of money. DON"T use it.... they haven't got proper songs. Most new songs you can find are tribiutes.

Due to ignorance on my behalf, forgot to cancel the free trial after 14 days, so ended up being £27.99 worse off for it (yes, they stick you on the MOST expensive plan once the trial ends. It's up to you to change it yourself!!). Though I may as well try and use the money, only to find the website was terrible to use, and the selection of music was awful. Loads of cover tracks by obscure artists, or compilation albums thrown together with titles that I should think no-ones ever heard of! Spent 2 days trying to use my credit (yes, actually trying to use up my credit, rather than see it wasted), but gave up and cancelled the whole thing. Steer well clear of this, and don't be fooled by the 14 day or 1 month free trial rubbish. Total waste of time and money! Shame you can't give it zero stars...
