Dont eat here and if you do dont tip! can you believe the the owners keep 90% of the tips given to the staff!!!! I am boycotting this place until the owner stops abusing the good will of his young staff. The food is fine the service is great but unreal how the staff are treated!

Zen noodle bar, Burry St Edmunds. Very bright and impersonal was my first impression, yet saying this there was a a good metropolitan feeling once settled.
Unfortunately we were seated downstairs which smelt quite damp and was chilly.
The food was good and although we were looking forward to dessert we were told they were closing in 15 mins so we'd have to be quick... The ultimate let-down!!
Staff were pretentious and seemed very bored. Can't believe we were being kicked out at 10.00 on a Saturday night!!????? Would go back during the day (but they're not open!) Wouldn't waste another night out there. Sorry guys, must try harder!

My first time at the noodle bar. Highly recommend by a friend who eats there regularly. What a fantastic concept. Food is cooked fresh and service second to none. Will definately be going back.

Brillant atmosphere staff very good service smooth well organised family friendly surroundings very good. Having booked we where shown stright to our table offered drinks which arrived within mins. After each course the table was cleared stright away. There was no pressure to finish up and go, families where their as well with youngish children and the style of service and surroundings suited. In all a very good experince. Wecould do with Zen restaurant at home in Ireland

You know what, we hadn't been to Zen for ages and then a collegue said she'd been and had a good time so we thought we'd give it another go. Previously we had found it a bit impersonal and expensive for what you got.
Anyway, we went a couple of weeks ago on a Thursday night and it was OK. We are going back agian this Saturday with a couple of friends, so I really hope they don't let us down! So give it a go, food is great, fab location and if it's busy it's a cool, lively place to go...

Amazing! We had a works do and we were given the whole private area down stairs. As all food is cooked to order at the Zen Noodle Bar, we were waiting a little longer then expected but it was really worth the wait

Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food & good service. Have eaten at this restaurant quite a few times now and it is consistently good. You do need to book for weekend tables though as it is very popular

Bored kids serving, you have to book a table at Zen Noodle Bar in Bury St. Edmunds, which sort of defeats the noodle bar concept, and it is not open all day, and never on Sundays!!!

Zen is extremely popular, and on Friday/Saturday nights, it is well reccomended to book in advance. It's excellent for parties, family meals, celebrations, romantic dinners or just a quick catch up with friends. The staff are friendly and helpful, service is fast and the food suits the entire family.
