On 07.21.19 my family and I where dealing with a situation in our home where our air went out. Our homes was 85 degrees and it was 105 outside. We couldn't get anyone to come out so we decided to get a hotel. Going through expedia I found a hotel that priced me at 108.00 +tax , we decided to go with it. Having 2 small children it was the best solution at that point. Expedia is terrible to work with. I tried to change a flight and it took over an hour and a half on the phone and in the end the price was higher than booking a new flight. Throughout the experience I continually explained that I wanted to change my flight and the employee was unable to understand and kept asking me over and over what I wanted to do,. Expedia DID NOT contact us to tell us that Air Canada had canx our flights due to Boeing 737 - 8. AC notified Expedia 10 days ago and NO ONE notified us. As my first experience buying a ticket from this app is the worst. They dont help you at all and they also do not apply proper information that is clear for customer. Expedia website is very misleading. It gives an impression that we are booking directly with Ryanair. However, we are making the booking via Expedia and paying Expedia's prices. ZERO star is for Name Correction Department ONLY. Issue: Name legally changed a few weeks after the ticket was bought. Experienced timeline: May 2018 - current day, including multiple calls, 20-45 mins just to connect from Customer service to this depart, 4.5 hrs call duration, multiple e-mails, placed on hold for an hour and then they hang-up with no follow-up calls from Expedia persons. Decided to use my trip insurance that I paid $70 for to cancel a flight that cost $1100 and get a refund on the money I paid upfront. Called Expedia and was told I would only get a credit from United. So If I had paid for the ticket thru the United website in the first place I could have changed the date for a $150 charge. Just returned from RK LUZ APARTMENTS in Gran Canaries, first apartment we were paddling in water on first floor, something was leaking, went to reception and she changed us straight away to 5th floor much nicer apartment with fantastic views. I booked flights and hotel through Expedia spending just under £2500 I was introduced to Expedia via Quidco for 12% cashback. 2 months after my trip Expedia informed Quidco that I am no eligible for cashback because I cancelled my trip. On 6/30/2018, at 7:20pm Eastern time, I made a reservation for a room, check in 7/13/2018. A few minutes later, I received an email confirmation with the check in date as 7/1/2013. Unacceptable practice. We booked a car online via Expedia and before we booked it claimed all was included - specifically insurance. Arrived for pick up in ITALY and we were told a type of insurance was not included and it was MANDATORY and THAT THEY (this is Expedia’s contractor) WOULD NOT GIVE US THE CAR WITHOUT THIS. Bought 5 tickets with a transfer involved with baggage included. Paid of the tickets and ....no bags. Luckily I took a screenshot and the claim that they will refund the £350 I will have to pay at the airport. I know Expedia of old and avoid using them. Imagine my frustration when it turns out ebookers is just Expedia in disguise. When there was a problem with my hotel booking, it took 4 hours and 6 emails before I gave up cancelled the booking and rebooked in less than 10 minutes with another company - Agoda.
