“This is the second year we stayed at the Cala Vinas...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by jamielupton on 30/06/2009

This is the second year we stayed at the Cala Vinas Hotel. Last year the experience was totally different. We had returned this time due to the nice suite with blackout curtains, reasonably quiet pool area and good food.

How things have changed. This time, our suite with it's beautiful view of the delivery slope was much smaller and sleeping past 10am was impossible with the light.

Our party was split in two and 3 of the guests were sent to the neighbouring Cala Vinas hotel. Only after an argument were we able to get wristbands for both hotels. Even though it was their mistake, they seemed to think it okay that half our party ate and drank at one hotel and half at the other.

The pool areas this year were unbelievably crowded. I do not have any problem with kids being around but the sheer volume ruined it. The place felt like a kindergarten. We had arguments about sun loungers as many guests had towels down yet didn't use the loungers for literally hours.

Food this year is lower in quality and the lovely steaks from last year seem to have given way to cheaper food. We spent £1400 on a suite for two all inclusive. This, plus the rudeness of some staff and the above has left me very disappointed. We may as well have stayed down the Magaluf mayhem.

Certainly won't be staying again here and it definitely does not the deserve the status of 4.5 star. Beware of the beautiful reception because as soon as you step out of it, it stops.

I'm writing this review having just been woken up by a woman who let herself into our room at 9.20am reminding us with a clipboard we are checking out today. We were still in bed.

I went with my wife for a short break last min having read the reviews on all sites Cala Vinas Hotel sounded great, BUT oh dear. yes the hotel has had a makeover but a very cheap & badly one at that....... reception looks great but then you go down to your room through dark & musty hall ways, Room small nothing special but ok, floor had bit's all over it.. view Fantastic.... Food ok but what gets left from one meal seems to get made into someting else for the next!!!!!!! (not sure what) snack bar food always cold or at best warm, Drinks beer wine ok but soft drinks awful, everthng comes out of a gun!!!! all staff very rude, if you are all inclusive like we were they seem to think you are getting something for nothing even though you have paid upfront for it., room was sort of cleaned daily but sheets were not changed for the whole of our stay taking in mind this is suppose to be a 4* !!!!!! pool area dirty cups, stains, straws left from the day before, only 22 sun brolies for the whole hotel not enough sunbeds( very uncomfortable), they even have a lady who comes to the hotel to advise of the dangers of sunburn!!!!!!!, lot's of arguments about sunbeds(not what you come on holiday to hear) being taken by other guests.... having stayed in lot's of 4/5* Hotels around the world this is NOT a 4* at best a 3* So I dont know what the people who have left good reviews are use to, But this is not a nice hotel it's a 60's/70's eyesore it' wants knocking down and starting again...
entertainment well I will let you be the judge of that if you go.. the inside of the hotel was clean to be fair..NO I won't be going back and I would not recomend it, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went with my friend and her family to Magaluf and we stayed at the Cala Vines Hotel. There were 13 of us altogether, and every single one of us loved it. It's only a 10 to 15 minute walk to Magaluf, which is more lively. Everything in the hotel was brilliant! The food, the staff, everything.

There are a couple of pubs and shops just across the street.

I loved it, and I would definitely go back. If you need more information, just leave a comment.

“The Cala Vinas Hotel in Magaluf is quite a nice hotel...”

★★★★★

written by Stunt Gerbil on 04/08/2005

The Cala Vinas Hotel in Magaluf is quite a nice hotel - we booked a late deal off of Teletext and we could have done a lot worse. It is a 3 Star hotel with a great sea view and a large swimming pool. The food in the restaurant was good quality and the staff really seemed to make an effort with you. The hotel is situated on a beach cove with the sand and sea directly in front. There is plenty of seating which is good for sleeping off the night before if you take the short trip to the hustle and bustle of Magaluf proper. The hotel itself is quiet and good for both families and couples. I had a great time in Magaluf and if I visited again I would definitely stay at the Cala Vinas.
