Great car if you know what you're in for. Like all 3400's I had to get the lower intake manifold gaskets replaced around 80k miles (currently 100k). I wont hold it against the car, because it's an issue with every 3x series engine GM built. The interior quality is above average, nothing special though. some components feel very solid while others are noticeably cheap. I upgraded the strut tower braces and sway bars to give the car a tighter feel while driving, and it did wonder to an already… Read Full Review

This Oldsmobile Alero 3.4L V6 GL Sedan has had some major components replaced at low mileage. My list of replacements includes:
Brake caliper at 19,824 miles.
Lower intake manifold gaskets at 24,878.
Power steering hose at 24,980.
Wheel speed sensor, lower control arms, and HEAD GASKET at 28,754.
Fuel tank cap, front stabilizer shaft, insulator, and bracket at 33,451.
Upper and lower intake gaskets and brake pads at 40,903.
