“Amazing!”

Written on: 18/07/2017 by shanhynesx (1 review written)

The breed itself has a reputation for being vicious and uncontrollable but ive never known a breed more loving.Ive grew up with Rotties all my life and have been around them since I was 3 days old. He weighed around 82kg and treated me like his best friend..slept next to my crib every night and even used to put my dirty diapers in the bin. Unfortunately due to his size he contracted crippling arthritis which is the only downfall of the breed. They need long walks and runs every day,if they… Read Full Review

“A Whole Lotta Love!”

Written on: 03/04/2017 by dararthur (1 review written)

Our 5 year old male rotti Oreo is the most loving, loyal, quick learning dog we have ever had he's very good with cat's & other dog's & luv's luv's luv's children & his people, he does need daily exercise a daily 2-3 mile hike & play time or he gets a little pushy. you have to be stern but loving because they are opportunist and will test you at all time's. The only issue is that they are so big Oreo being 150 Lbs. that just trying to show there love can be harmful to the elderly & young… Read Full Review

“A great breed ”

Written on: 02/01/2014

I have a male rottie. And he is by far the sweetest most goofiest dog. They do require a lot of attention. They are quick to realize who their owner(s) and once that is set they will be the most loving companions. My rottie follows me everywhere I go when I'm in the house. Sometimes it's a pest to deal with but it's mainly because they like to be close to their owner and with them at any given time. They do need exercise daily since they are meant to be strong and powerful dogs. Their instinct… Read Full Review

One thing we found with our Rottweiler is that training is a must, as they can soon get out of control and turn your home upside down. They love cuddles and chewing, so all good shoes must be kept out of his reach… Read Full Review

'They love cuddles and chewing, so all good shoes must be kept out of his reach.'
Hill, you could well be writing about my grandson's Jack Russell/Patterdale cross -- he's the same.
You're absolutely right about the training of course and it's a great shame that certain Rottweiler owners don't do it properly. I hope you continue to enjoy him.
Mrs Harvey.......lovely pic. Is he/she yours?

To my surprise our friends male Rottweiler is very kind, sweet and friendly. He does require a lot of attention though, and plenty of exercise, otherwise he can be quite (knowingly) naughty.
He is also very protective over my female Collie cross, even though she is the oldest of the two. Expect to have huge food bills though, as they eat loads… Read Full Review

Written on: 27/01/2005 by billnbugs (1 review written)

I have been privileged to have been the 'person' in the lives of five Rottweilers during the past 20 years, and have found the breed to be the almost-perfect dog, its only drawback being its not-too-long life-span.

All five of my Rottweilers, while having their own characters, soon developed the typical breed traits of loyalty, protectiveness and courage.

The good part is that the only effort needed to bring out these qualities is the application of large amounts of kindness, firmness (not… Read Full Review

Written on: 30/09/2004 by rainbowmunky22 (1 review written)

I had a female Rottweiler for about 9 years. She was one of those dogs that love people who she grew up around, but she did not like new people at all. She would try to attack all of my friends and she didn't like other dogs either. This is probably just because she didn't grow up with much exposure to other people. I think Rottweilers are great companions, but they can get pretty big… Read Full Review
