Jim Rose, Freak Like Me - Synopsis:
"Jim Rose took a strange road and became one of the world's best known performance artists. He started his apprenticeship in Europe during the eighties, travelling with thrill and mind bender shows. In 1992, after an appearance on Sally Jesse Raphael show, Perry Farrell hired him to create a freak vibe for Lollapalooza. Jim's show sent shock waves from coast to coast. In 1993 he went out on his own, headlining a world tour and released a video on American Recordings. The video quickly became a cult classic. In 1994, Jim toured with Nine Inch Nails and the then-unknown Marilyn Manson for most of the year. 1995 brought another headlining world tour and a guest starring role as the lead murder suspect in what turned out to be one of the most popular episodes of the X-Files. 1996 Jim's book Freak Like Me was released on Bantam Double Day Dell and made several best seller lists. Jim went out on a spoken word tour to promote his book. His live storytelling received rave reviews and showed the fans a different side of him. Also that year Homer joined Jim's show as the human cannonball on an episode of the Simpsons".
