William Horwood Skallagrigg

William Horwood Skallagrigg is a beautifully written book, it follows the three lives, the storytellers, Arthur and Esther who both were born with Cerebral Palsy, but the story tells of how differently the two were treated being born in different generations to each other. This book is brilliantly written, it gives a very real understanding of the treatment of people with disabilities. The book will make you both cry and laugh.

During and after reading the book, I wanted to do some research into the lives of the people in the book, however the reference to dates in the future, brought the reality that this book is only fiction.

For an author who usually takes to writing about animals, he has a wonderful grasp of the lives of the people in this story.
