“Lookers Volvo not good enough! ”

I have had to rebook my car XC40 electric model in Volvo Lookers Stockport for a second time as they did not fix the problem, although said they had. They did not apologise for the couple of months I had to wait, after the initial 4 month wait, and didn’t feel the need to rectify their mistake sooner, even when asked. My car has now been fixed, although it has not come back cleaned, after the tracker said it was to be sanitised. What does that mean, if not cleaned? I used to drive a Nissan car and I can’t fault them for their care an attention, after a service. It felt worth the inconvenience of having no car for a day, to be greeted with a lovely smelling properly cleaned car. Volvo have done a less than passable job of sanitising my car. If there was another Volvo dealership close by, I would take it there as I am not happy with the lack of care and attention the service team at Lookers Stockport pay to the not cheap cars they service.

“Disappointing product. Dreadful after sales. Unhelpful...”

I received helpful respectful service from the sales team, but unfortunately once the purchase concluded I have found after sales support to be confused and ineffective. Having raised concerns over several issues with the car I purchased I received little sympathy and was told that the car is performing 'as it should' in all regards. It's a B4P XC40, doing 26 mpg at a push and suffering significant throttle lag, particularly after braking. I don't recall seeing either of these attributes in the brochure.. I have found engaging with after sales support to be frustrating generally with long delays in actions and communication, false starts and ineffective/inappropriate diagnostic processes. There has been no clear ownership of my issues with internal responsibility boundaries appearing to hamper and disrupt rather than enable their management and resolution. True commitment to customer satisfaction does not appear a senior management priority with no appetite or willingness to help constructively Very disappointing from a dealership of a marque such as Volvo. I have been a loyal customer for several years but unfortunately my experience of the after sales and service functions at Lookers Stockport has finally defeated me. They're just not fit for purpose, in my view. Perhaps you'll be luckier. Perhaps not. Sales team helpful but if you have any issues post sales, good luck! I have found the senior management to be particularly intransigent, unsympathetic and unhelpful. I personally class their attitude toward me to be disrespectful and rude.

“purchasing my Renault Clio ”

I couldn't be more happier with the service lookers Stockport provided, especially my sales representative was extremely helpful through out the while process from finance options, helping to purchasing the right car for me, getting a good deal for my part ex, excellent communication up until taxing my vehicle for me and away I went, thank you so much for all your help and lookers, I would highly recommend them.

“WORST. Customer Service. EVER. ”

Booked in. Drove all the way there at personal cost. Was told to wait for svc staff. Waited ages. Nobody checked in with me, staff just walked by looking right through me because they're more interested in high ticket conversations. Attitudes of all staff apathetic. Went to ask how much more waiting would be involved. Then told there'd been NO delivery and NO advance notice. And they'd still had me sat waiting!! NO offer to compensate for petrol. Wouldn't mind so much but that was for only half of what I originally rang up to order because they couldn't meet the full order!!!

“Brilliant after care / service ”

Bought a car from Lookers Volvo Stockport 3 years ago. This was a major purchase for us as we don’t normally buy new cars so it was an experience we remember all and as a result of the expense we took the pre-paid service plan to save cost later on. The purchase process was simple and we were kept informed throughout. Since then the car has gone for its annual service and I have been very pleasantly surprised by the consistently friendly and efficient service. Recently we had an issue with the car while we were away on holiday. A phone call to Lookers (the service manager) and he reassured me of the safety to carry on using the car and booked it in for repair on our return home. The car went in for repair today and again prompt, friendly and efficient service. I can’t recommend this garage enough. Professional and friendly, what more can you ask.

“Absolutely appalling service ”

Appalling service, no organisation at all, calls never returned, it's taken a week to complete a 30minute job, staff rude and unhelpful, I've never had such an experience with a main dealer in my life - disgusted - take your vehicle elsewhere

“Very poor sales deal”

I have bought my last two Fiat cars from Lookers Fiat Stockport over the last 14 years so I called in to Lookers Fiat Stockport on Friday and had to wait over 10 minutes before someone came to see me. I had to ask a Kia Rep (they share the showroom) to find a Fiat Rep for me. I was offered £300 less for my Fiat 500 than I was offered at a Skoda Garage which I think is appalling considering it is the same make. I told the Fiat Rep that I was going to Skoda and he told me to go back to Fiat if I got a better deal. I was offended that I had not been offered a better deal in the first place. Needless to say I bought a Skoda Citigo Monte Carlo and I am paying £58 per month less on my PCP payments. I would never buy a car from Lookers Fiat Stockport again.

“Cheap cars, poor after sales”

You get what you pay for I guess. Cars are competitively priced, but aftersales is hopeless. I've had two cars, a Skoda and a Fiat. The Skoda was an ex demo, no major issues with it but when taking in for a service the garage dont call you and when trying to get through on the phone expect to be cut off. The Fiat was 3 years old and had a problem with the radio. Complaint emailed to them and no reply. I wouldt dream of getting the vehicle serviced there. In the market for a new car shortly and unlikely to use Lookers unfortunately.

“Dodgy Cars. Dodgy ' Sales Executives'”

They promise you the world at point of sale. After parting with our hard earned cash all promises were void.We had major issues after picking the vechile up with the condition of the bodywork. No owners manual No service history book. we were told all these issues would be rectified. Promised calls from them not received. Left messages ignored, they blame the reception staff, the 'sales excecutive' is always with a customer and NEVER returns your calls. The saga is still ongoing. Please Please DO NOT give your business to this Dealer. Go to an independent Garage who value your custom. Or a scrap yard as this is where most of their used car stock is probably sourced.

Though I have not purchased a vehicle from Lookers Renault, I can agree with you that the Reception staff are pretty lacks. Whenever I call, the receptionist puts me through to the department I want and then forgets about me. Was left hanging for 10min the other day, and had to hang up and ring again - she didn't even apologise. Just put me back on the same line waiting. Called back again and asked for someone to call me back - but to no avail. Don't know why they are there. I got into the dealership one day and there she was reading a book! And to say that they have no interest in the cars is a great understatement!
I think that if they had reception staff which actually gave a monkey's, the dealership would be much better off.
However, the longsuffering service staff are always friendly.

“Car Purchase -Renault Twingo demonstrator”

I would not recommend Lookers Stockport Renault because nearly a month after purchasing my car I am still waiting to receive the spare key, owners manual and service book/history. I have been completely ignored by the sales advisor, though that shouldn't come as a surprise as for both my test drive and car collection appointments I was left waiting for over an hour. I part exchanged my car with them and after being offered nearly half the price of what they had quoted in their website, I finally agreed a price. The morning after I had left my car with them, I realised I had left my company hands-free Bluetooth device in there, amoungst a few other things. However I was told that the car was 'completely empty' just hours later, despite still being at the dealership. I guess someone wanted to make themselves a bit of money/give themselves a gift of a hands-free kit at my expense. The customer service has been appalling from start to finish and unless you have time to try and chase them daily for a response, I wouldn't waste your time. As I have been offered no update on when the correct documentation and spare parts will be ready, I have no choice but to take this to trading standards.

Go to Renault complaints department direct. You are wasting your valuable time trying to get anywhere with this outfit. I think they ignore problems and hope you just give up. I too have had the ' pleasure ' of their customer service and it has left me scarred for life not a 'customer for life'.

“Better than your normal comedy sketch”

Arranged on a Thursday by e-mail/telephone a test drive on a 3 yrs old car I had seen on the dealers website, for the following Monday. Arrived on time, the receptionist had no record of the appointment and neither did any of the sales staff she asked. Eventually I was introduced to a salesman who took up my enquiry. He then passed me over to another salesman. At this point someone said that the car was not on site but nobody knew where it was. The manager came over a short while later and said it was in the bodyshop for remedial work and should not have been advertised until the work had been done, After this they said that I could still have a test drive in a similar car, to which I said ok.A short while later the 2nd salesman took me to a scruffy same model car but of lower spec and was a 3 door model to which I still agreed to on the understanding that I still wanted one in the car I had come to see. After the test drive the manager came over and said that the car would be back the following day. At this stage I said that I would return the following afternoon to continue discussions. They then asked for a £100.00 deposit to hold the car,which I agreed to provided that I was happy with the car. I went back the following afternoon to view the car,and then waited about 30 mins for the car to arrive back. When it arrived back a different salesman took me over to the car, what a surprise I had, the car had still numerous bad scratches and marks on the bodywork. I remarked to the salesman that I was not impressed with the condition of the car and wanted my deposit back, at with the he said well it is 3 years old. He said ok then and then walked off. I then went back into reception where I was told the manager would come and see me shortly, and would I go to the waiting area. He never came but eventually a young lady came to me and refunded my deposit back onto my debit card. I then left the building throughly disgusted.

“Do not go there”

Agreed to buy a car. Put down a deposit on the understanding it would have 12 months warranty, tax and mot with no advisories. Went to pick up thr car to find that they hadn't printed out the mot certificate and it had advisories. Do not waste your time buying a car from there!!!!

“Friendly and definitely customers for life!”

I recently bought a Fiat 500 from Fiat Lookers in Stockport. From the very start the service was brilliant. Mark Jones and the rest of the staff were very welcoming and not in any way pushy. Mark was very professional and listened to any questions I had. He even coped with a very impatient lady! The handover of the car was faultless and the quality of the vehicle is far better than I ever expected. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish and it's true of the Lookers slogan "customers for life" we certainly will be!

“Old School Sales & Ropey Car Stock”

Ignore the amazing reviews provided by the garages own filtered reviews (judgeservive.com), obviously they're all going to be five star! My experience here was merely going along to have a look at a car, the problems started with not being able to get through on the phone, I gave up after 5 minutes, great start if I ever had a problem... I also didn't like the look or sound of the salesmen, came across as a bit wide-boy old school from the bad old days of salesmen to me. Third thing of interest was the car being on the website at £8000 (ignoring daft numbers), when I got there it had a screen price of £8500, why? Lastly pretty much ever car there had some form of paint damage, the one I went to look at had scuffs all along the back panel, this would have required a full respray to one of the biggest panels on the car as far as I'm concerned.

“Told car was never damaged, found out different later”

Asked specifically at point of sale if the car had ever been involved in a accident, was told no do a HPI check. HPI check was clear but as we know this will only show repairs carried out under the insurance. Went to trade car in and was told car had significant frontal damage and been repaired, to the extent that the drivers front wing cannot be fitted correctly. Told nothing but lies so as to get a sale. There is no way a so called professional car dealership would have purchased or accepted this car as a trade in and sold it on without knowing it had been in an accident.

“keep well away”

got a new punto from Stockport branch. A major leak appeared under the dash soaking everything and everyone, Took it in and they refused to even look at it said keep driving it and book it in for ten days later I explained it was soaking the internal wiring they just didn't care. Also when you use the headlight flasher all the indicators come on and you cant turn them off, they said they had put a new part in but after a few weeks, same problem. My partner got a new skoda from Lookers Stockport, the electric windows go down when you want them to go up problem never fixed after taking it back three times and within weeks the catalytic converter packed up, they replaced it only for it to go again a few week later. Don't waste your time even going to look at their rubbish.

“rusty 5 month old car”

I recently bought a pre registered car from lookers stockport,its 5 months old on a 63 plate,the car looks superb on the outside,but lift the bonnet and remove the rubber seals around the doors and its rusty,who sees a rusty car these days never,rust is in the past but not if you buy a new car from lookers,just 5 months old unbelievable.Took the car back agreed its in an unacceptable condition,but will they give me my money back? no only owned it 5 weeks,so it looks like I'll have to get my solicitor on the case,what judge is going to reject my claim when he see the photos of a rusty 5 months old car.this company has no morals.

all goods should be as described and fit for purpose. before you waste money on a solicitor try your local consumer rights dept or citizens advice. i think you may have a case against them. as it should not be rusty after just five months. i have dealt with stockport, my advice. keep well clear.

“Service Department”

Calling the main number leads to a very pleasant lady who quickly diverts the call to the service department. The service department never answers. Five attempts on 17 February 2014. The only other way to call them is through their direct line which is a 0844 premium number. I would rather take my business to a back street garage.
