I Have Had Numerous Volvo Cars Over A 30 Period An
I have had numerous Volvo cars over a 30 period and can honestly say this model S70 T5 auto was the best ever. I bought it at 3 years of age ex-police and apart from 3 small holes in the dash it is exceptionally well kept. As an auto saloon it is unusual as the police normally go for the estate version. I did manage to get a fuel figure of 39 mpg on a touring holiday but the normal figure was closer to 30 mpg. Even when pushed hard it never went below 28 mpg. I found it to be a real wolf in sheep's clothing performance was amazing. A testament to the reliability of the car is that, when I sold it my daughter-in-law bought it and has had it for 3 more years. She has just sold it to a close friend. The fact that it is still 'in the family' so to speak just illustrates how reliable it is.

I Managed To Buy A 96 (p) S70 T5 One Owner From Ne
I managed to Buy a 96 (P) S70 T5 one owner from new with 55,000 miles on for £1000. The car has full service history and is immaculate inside and out.I have already done over 2500 miles in the car and apart from the finances of a small country that I have put in the fuel tank I am really pleased with it.
The guy I bought it off who had had the car from new was quite an elderly gentleman that had probably never driven the car any quicker than 30mph, and was certainly not as heavy right footed as I am.
Since I have had the car and given it its hardest ever 2500 miles I now find myself listening for problems and sometimes imagine myself hearing a slight tappety sound from the engine bay. This may have been here all along or may be a result from having its guts rang almost every time.
My problem is I just love the power when the turbo kicks in and also with it being Auto I find it hard to get that balance of getting about quickly without ringing its neck.
Another thing I have noticed is that someday's it feels more powerful than others and I'm sure after driving it today I have a slight power loss as well as noticing the turbo sounds slightly louder than usual.
I have been told these cars are bullet-proof and used to suffer being thrashed daily by the police, I also used to have an 850 T5 with 250,000 miles that was also thrashed and never missed a beat (although that car was sold on after 3 months).
I am now hoping that the novelty has worn off I treat the car with a little more respect so it lasts a bit longer however if anyone knows what problems to expect from constant hammering of the car I would appreciate any advice.

The Volvo S70 Was Best Car I've Ever Had. Had Two
The Volvo S70 was best car I've ever had. Had two 740's previously. S-70 is now 10 yrs old with 255,000 km and still goes well. Still running original shocks very acceptable at ordinary highway speeds. Maintenance (to keep it in top shape) about $2500/yr which is much less than the 740's cost.

I Am 22 And Seeking A Volvo S70 T5. Round About R
I am 22 and seeking a Volvo S70 T5. round about R reg as the insurance is excellent for that model. I have a passion for a car that is twice as fast and cheaper then a considerable amount of other cars people around my age have. I track tested this model against some other similar cars on a driving simulater (GT4). It did better than the Lexus IS200, Honda Civic type R, Focus RS, Focus ST170, Vectra 3.2v6, it was out classed by the Clio v6 and Honda 2000. Volvos are truely the underdog of the saloons. The more us young guns get robbed over Japanese 20.L turbo engines motors the more we will seek out the Nasa theory. Better, faster, cheaper! Rage on Volvo.
test drive on gt4!!!!!

I Have Owned My Volvo S70 T5 Se Auto Executive Car
I have owned my Volvo S70 T5 SE Auto Executive Car for just over a year. I have wanted to own a T5 for a long time and finally got the funds to purchase one. I had to do a lot of searching becasue of the amount of ex-police examples on the market.
The performance of the T5 engine is something else. It may not be the fastet car off the line but with 330nm of torque it can out accelerate most things once moving. Drive the car hard and you will pay for it in tyres and fuel costs.
The only major problem I have had with my car is that the heater matrix failed. A new matrix will cost approx £100 but fitting is a problem as part of the dash needs to be removed.
Overall there is not a quicker car for the money. The engines will last forever if maintained well. High spec for the money.
