I went to Caleta de Fuste Barcelo in June 2006, and I had a fantastic time! The rooms were really spacious, and the service at the hotel was faultless. The pools were lovely and spacious, so you can have a great swim. I loved it so much that I am going back again this year.

“Caleta de Fuste Barcelo - Having had an awful holiday...”

★★★★★

written by Kaffy on 08/05/2004

Caleta de Fuste Barcelo - Having had an awful holiday in Majorca we were almost put off package holidays until we stayed in Barcelo Fuerteventura! The hotel was built in 2002 and is extremely modern and tastefully decorated - just wait 'til you walk through the front doors! Staff at the hotel are very friendly, welcoming and attentive. The hotel seems to attract a cosmopolitan clientele - none of the beer-bellied lager louts that can be expected in other resorts were to be seen. We stayed half board and the food was absolutely excellent. Champagne and smoked salmon were on offer for breakfast along with the usual cooked breakfast or bread and fruits. In the evening, meat was cooked freshly in view of the diners and various vegetables, potatoes and pasta were available in abundance - delicious! The rooms are exactly as they are depicted in the brochure and the beds really are as comfortable as they look. The entire hotel was spotless throughout. Entertainment provided by the hotel staff was fantastic but you must not miss out on the German tribute band to the Beatles who really were great. Caleta de Fuste itself is a lovely small resort for couples and families who are looking for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. It is not for anyone looking for a lively holiday with a hectic nightlife. I was unable to book a holiday to Barcelo Fuerteventura this year due to not being able to book 'til late but I can assure you that I will not make the same mistake next year! Granted it is a bit pricey but I think that it is most definitely worth an extra few quid.

“Myself and my girlfriend visited this hotel in March...”

★★★★★

written by Matt121 on 25/09/2003

Myself and my girlfriend visited this hotel in March 2003 and booked for a week through Thomas Cook direct. When we arrived at the Barcelo we were very impressed, it looks like a first class hotel and when you walk inside you realise that it is. The reception is ultra modern with loads of funky seating areas and marble and wood flooring which gives the impression of a 5*. When checking in the reception staff were excellent, speaking very good English. When we arrived at our room we found it to be exactly how it looked in the brochure, absolutley lovely with huge, huge beds!! The view off the balcony was superb with views overlooking the pool and beach. You also get a big bathroom and a mini bar which i made alot of use of!! After we unpacked we went for a wonder round the hotel to get our bearings, believe me this hotel is massive! The pools were great, the smaller ones cold but the main one was heated and has a jacuzzi bath in the corner. The evening entertainment team were great with loads of professional acts on like chinese acrobats and magic shows and tribute bands. My favourate was the tribute to the four tops, they were fantastic and got a standing ovation at the end! The food at the hotel was great, buffet style restraunt with a massive selection of meat and veg cooked to a very high standard, the chefs even cook in front of you so you can have your steak cooked exactly how you want it!!

The resort of Caleta is small but very picturesque and has a couple of good bars, our best was the Cavern bar which plays live music by the owner from about 7 till 1am and the atmosphere is brilliant, cheap cocktails too!! The beach in the resort is small and in my oppinion not all that, my advise is that you book a car for a couple of days as you can pick up some really good prices, we hired an open top jeep for three days and cost us only £110. We went to correlejo which has an excellent beach with ice white sand and clear waters, but if you want beautiful scenery and even better beaches head down to the area of Jandia, miles upon miles of gorgouse beaches!!
All in all had a fantastic time at the Barcelo hotel, I can't recommend it highly enough, and Fuerteventura is absolutley stunning.......go there....go on!!!
