An Enjoyable Experience With Some Reservations.

Overall we enjoyed our visit to the Zoo although calling it the mountain zoo was appropriate it was a lot of up and down to the various animals you need stamina.

In the main the animals are well looked after and the areas they were given adequate with new area being set up in particular for the flamingos but the bear enclosure and the Aviary's need to be enlarged.

Also maybe a route map to give people a chance to see all the animals the one given makes it a bit chaotic.

The Restaurant served good food and despite all the children around very clean and tidy.

Overall a good day out but only 4 star.

Monkeys And Birds In Such Small Enclosures With No

monkeys and birds in such small enclosures with no natural vegetation and even though the staff do their best , the place needs to be radically changed and the above enclosures vastly expanded and improved for the happiness of the occupants . money needs to be raised to acheive this .

This Place Should Be Shut Down. Animal Cruelty Gal

this place should be shut down. Animal cruelty galore. Made my wife really sad

and I came away wanting to break out the animals. The bear was like something you see in a foriegn country where they have been making them dance, it was broken, just rocking from side to side. The monkeys looked suicidal, even on the postcards. all of the enclosures were shabby and badly maintained apart from a few. I normaly like zoos but this one was a bad advert for them. all the arguments for why zoos are wrong are upheld here. the play area looked fun for the kids. the shows were ok. but this place should be closed or taken over. avoid if you have a soul

Great Day Out For The Family.......not A Huge Zoo

Great day out for the family.......not a huge zoo when compared to Chester but Welsh Mountain Zoo still has many varied animals. The 3 Bears which you pass on the way in are lovely to watch, especially when they dig a pit, throw themselves down on their backs and scratch contentedly.Lovely!.

The seal-lions and Penguins are always fun to watch and have daily displays,as do many of the other animals.Information is given on admittance. There are picnic areas and places to eat.

All in all a lovely friendly place amongst beautiful scenery and having the pleasure of knowing that your money is going to help all the animals there and with their research projects.

I Have Visited The Welsh Mountain Zoo Twice Now An

I have visited the Welsh Mountain Zoo twice now and enjoyed both visits. There are entertaining Penguin walks, bird of prey displays and Sea Lion shows, which the animals seem to enjoy. It is photographer-friendly, but there is a lot of wire fencing to focus out for most exhibits.

Good adventure play area for children, good for school visits.

I Have Been To The Welsh Mountain Zoo Quite A Few

I have been to the Welsh Mountain Zoo quite a few times, and when I was younger I enjoyed it a lot (I loved the adventure playground). Going back recently though, I think it needs some updating, and some of the animal enclosures look a bit old. However, there are quite a lot of animals and a good pets corner for the kids. Entertaining sea-lion, chimpanzee and bird of prey shows. I also found the staff very helpful (willing to answer questions about animals etc.
