Side, Hotel Oz Side

Okay some people are over reacting a bit hear. I went to turkey on the 24th august so right in peak time,, there was pleanty of sun beds and more in a shaded area if you wanted then. Alright the food was repetitve but really for the price what do you expect. It was not chicken every night as we has finsh and burgers and kebab there will be somthing you like. The hotel was spotless yeah okay the staff are pissy and they do expect you to be quite very early but we were noisy when we went out clubbing and it was quite a lagh getting told of by the managers. There is a free bus that goes to the beach and back everyday and the main town is like a 15 minit walk although i would advise getting a taxi in such hot weath plus the taxi was only 10 lera. there was not much entertainment there was a belly dancer and a magision but the 5star hotel next door has all the entertainment you could ask for and they are more than happy to let you use there facilitys. Overall me and my family had a good holiday and we met lots of great people there.

I have just returned from Oz side hotel, i have to say i was expecting more weather it is a 3 star or not !! the food was ok, the breakfast was mainly JUST egg and bread not much else, the lunch was ALWAYS chips, burgers and pasta, the dinner was ALWAYS pasta, chips and so on every night, there was Turkish food but it was never labeled so you did not know what you were eating !! the staff were rude and NOT very happy, you smile at them and never received one in return, the bar was a joke, if you are all inclusive you expect a wide rage of variety of drinks but you dont, you can only order one drink per person after 9 and you have to take your glass up in order to received another drink (which i thought was weird !) the bar closes at 10 it was disappointing. The hotel room was nice and clean on the small side but was ok, the pool was good. I would not recommened this to young people it was mainly couples or families, my rep said we were 10 mins from the main town which was a lie we had to get taxis as it was too far to walk.

We never managed to get a single night's sleep. Music from the bar kept us awake until after midnight. Then at sunrise there was the noise of wailing and droning from a nearby mosque. If by some miracle you then drifted off to sleep you were abrubtly awakened by staff noisily dragging chairs and tables into position at 6.30 am.

The food was very repetitive with various items reappearing in different guises; particularly in the soup! The all inclusive bar will only serve if you take back your empty glass and are quite awkward with you if you don't. Thomas cook rep very unhelpful unless you want to go o one of the excursions for which she obviously gets commission.

personally , i think hotel oz side was very clean and tidy but the food is disgusting and theres nothing too choose from. NO! entertainment on the night time except a belly dancer and fire breather which arent very good and lasts 10- 15 minutes!

in the morning you need to be up at 6 - 6 30 just to get a sun bed , the staff are disrespectful and grumpy and expect you to go to bed at 10.30 !

attitude of staff was disgusting no respect for you,food was awful uncooked chicken,no choice other than chicken everyday,only allowed one piece of chicken even if it was a drumstick,hygeine a very big issue,teatowels used to hold bread for cutting was dropped on floor twice and replaced back on bread this was done on a few occassions,insecticutor is supposed to be left on at all times especially around food,but was only put on at night when there was no food around which resulted in when you was eating there where loads of flies settling on the food all may i add are all ready to eat which are the risk foods,rice is a very high risk food after it has been cooked if not kept at right temperature which it wasn't food was mostly cold by time you got it,only drinks available was gin,vodka,beer,wine,raki all other at to be paid for,no cocktails at all,was watched by staff every mealtime and was watched every night at the bar if you had a drink on table wasn't allowed to have another then at 1030 at last orders you was only allowed one drink and only if you brought your glass back or you didn't get another,get told off if you ask for a second portion of any of the food,slide only open twice a day,nothing at all for the kids to do,no snacks during day only at 4 pm,which was one tray of biscuits and one tray of cake,entertainment consisted of two nights a week which lasted 15 minutes,which was afire-eater,and a belly-dancer,no entertainment for kids at all,also if you are just talking to each other outside by the pool you are told to go to bed by the security staff so that they can go out the front to sleep,also receptionist not there of a night she is also out front on chair asleep,but nice clean rooms,also can't have air conditioning on,or use to many electric items due to them having power cuts all the time,water runs out while having wash or shower,i would not recommend this hotel to anyone,a complete waste of good money,no use telling the rep as she likes it but dosen't have to stay there,also my partner got food poisioning and he as had it for 4 days so far,i also have got it,cats all round hotel even two who had kittens,allowed to walk around,gate to hotel chain locked at 1130 pm,no proper seating area for bar just resturant in open air and you had to sit on uncomfortable sunbeds to have an evening drink,staff not allowed to have a chat with you or even laugh,a shear waste of two thousand six hundred pounds totally not recommended,,this was a review of oz side hotel in side turkey which is recommende by thomas cook.

Hotel Oz Side is like a war camp. staff are the most unfriendly on the planet. the manager is a disgrace. the food is slops.

I am only writing this review, because after booking my holiday last minute, I got really scared reading all of the reviews on the internet, as most reviews about the hotel I found are not that good. In actual fact, the hotel and my holiday in general was really good. The hotel is a 3 star hotel, so I wasn't expecting the 4-star luxury that I am used to, but the holiday did meet my expectations. The hotel is slightly tucked away from the main town and the beach, however both are a short walk away, and the hotel runs a free coach service to the beach everyday at various times. There are a lot of bad reviews about this hotel about the staff. When I was there recently, I found all the staff, friendly, approachable and good at their job. I saw management testing the water quality and repairing things quite efficiently. The whole hotel was spotless, all rooms come with air conditioning, which is at no extra charge. Most rooms also have a balcony which overlooks the pool area.The only bad things about the hotel are as follows. The food is good 3 star food, however it does become repetitive and is very limited. The food isn't all Turkish, they have chips, spaghetti and on one occasion pizza and kebabs. The pool was clean, however the water was very slightly murky. There are plenty of sun-beds, however we had to get up before 9am to get one. I saw on several occasions, some people were using 2 mattresses on their sun-beds, meaning that some people are left without a mattress. Not that that is a problem with the hotel, but you get the idea.There was also not a lot to do in the evenings at the hotel. There was a bar and pool table, but that was about it. I think once in my two week holiday, there was a belly dancer, but she wasn't that entertaining!Overall, a good holiday for the price I paid, it is a good value hotel and resort. If you are used to 4* then you will feel the difference.

The Hotel Oz Side should make customers feel very welcome - they have entertainment in the Hotel at night but they should try to cater different types of food.

The hotel Oz Side has a reputation in site as not up to much.

Even the bar man in the hotel asked if we enjoyed the food, he explained he hardly ate in the hotel.

It seemed to me, whoever owned the place was running it as cheaply as possible

I must say I am not a really fussy eater and went to turkey to try the Turkish food.

The breakfast was the same every day egg with salad ,bread not very nice

evening meal was OK sometimes, but it was so much better to go out.

We found mehmets in the ruins the food was good and not too dear one problem all guests had was this the temperature reached almost 50c the poolside restaurant was boiling with no air con at breakfast I suppose as the meal was so bad we were allowed to drink there water or juice well it was actually water with some sort of powder added, AS A GESTURE OF GOODWILL as we were told by the rep.

The evening meal a little more palatable but on half board we had to buy our water or drink, the rep was told by the management, we had to buy drink from the hotel as it was the same as outside if he had bothered to check the water was actually triple the price the rep was English but sadly useless.

I found the staff friendly the shopping was terrible as you are harassed constantly, a friendly no-thank-you was sometimes not enough and the shopkeepers walked beside you for quite a distance trying to get you to buy.

The terrain was quite barren lots of building work around, there is a law over there no noisy work carried out during tourist season.

We went to beleks aquapark which had a very good dolphin show if you want to see a walrus doing sit-ups you have to go.

I think the oz side should consider going self catering if the owners try and run it so cheaply, with all the alternatives they will lose British custom, the Germans seemed happy.

We were offered as soon as we arrived the option to up-grade to full board priced at £10 adults and £5 children per day luckily we declined.

I hope turkey soon gets over the recent problems because it is a very nice country with lovely beaches.

The last day we went on a bon voyage trip which finished with us staying in Antayla in a hotel even worse than oz side. The same day the bomb went off though we left very early in the morning luckily.

Going to try Greece next year.

Bulgaria is a brilliant and cheap holiday destination been there twice.

The Oz Side Hotel in Turkey was OK, but the staff were horrible towards English people. They didn't smile or have a laugh with us. All they wanted was money all the time.

Turkey was OK, but I can not recommend the Oz Side Hotel.
