The Diana Hotel is a very basic, family run hotel. If you are using an airport transfer you will be dropped off on the main street and have to walk a short distance before you reach it, as the coaches cannot fit down the side roads it is on. However, the location is generally good, with the beach being just 3 minutes away. However, the beach is pebbly and watch out when swimming in the sea as there are many sea urchins on the sea bed and my partner and I both got some of their spines embedded in our feet, which is a painful experience.

The resort of Pefkohori is quite quiet and does not have that much to do there, especially for a 7 day trip (14 nights would be a real struggle), but there are some nice places to eat and it is not too far from the other resorts. I would definitely recommend hiring some method of transportation if possible so you can explore the peninsula (and try and make a trip over to the Sithonia peninsula, which is gorgeous). There is a good amount of parking space at the hotel too to make it possible to store vehicles overnight.

The rooms of the hotel itself are very basic, and you need to supply your own soap and suchlike. If you want any tea making facilities then you will need to take a travel kettle too, as none is provided. Fans can be rented out for the room to keep it cooler, as no air conditioning is included. However, the cleanliness is fairly good (a maid comes around every day except Sunday, towels are changed twice a week) and every room has a flushing toilet, which is not true for some of Greece. Safety deposit boxes are available behind reception for 10 euros per week.

The reception is not manned most of the time, but one of the three family members can generally be found in the bar if needed. This is where breakfast is served. This is served between before 9:30 and is a choice between cereal and toast, with either tea, coffee or orange squash as a drink. This was not really satisfactory to my partner and I as we did not really rate the quality and so we consequently had to pay to eat elsewhere.

Overall this is a very basic hotel (no pool, little variety at breakfast, only a basic bed/ dressing table and en suite in the room) which is, fortunately, in a good location for the main resort. There was little easily accessible nightlife so you would have to pay for taxis/ buses/ your own transport to take you out, and even a week seemed a little too long there for us. Those who just want to lounge around on the beach and relax would be ok though.

The best part of this holiday for us was, unfortunately, coming home. We would definitely not return to Pekohori (although would consider the Sithonia peninsula of Halkidiki for a short break) as there was just not enough to do and we did not enjoy it much. If there was more to do at the hotel it might have been more enjoyable, but for us it just wasn't and we were glad to be back after a very long week.

The Hotel Diana is a nice clean hotel in good location opposite a great Taverna and only 2/3 minutes walk from the sea. Very poor breakfast - no tea or coffee making facilities in rooms. Friendly family owned hotel in good location - modern and clean
