We did not use the Kodak EasyShare digital camera much, but one day it just stopped working, and for no apparent reason. It was never dropped, and it never got wet; it just stopped working. We got an estimate of $150 to repair it, which is far too much.

To be fair, I've had my Kodak EasyShare DX3600 for three years now and I've had a lot of use out of it. The camera is easy to use and is great for taking standard family photos or landscape scenes. In terms of image quality it falls down slightly in low light conditions or in bad weather, although the flash is good in darker indoor conditions.
The DX3600 isn't good at taking extreme close-up photos of objects; these usually come out blurry.

The camera is a fairly big size for a 2.2MP camera, but it is a few years old now. The main reason I can not recommend this camera is because of the battery life. I missed taking any photos at my friend's wedding because the battery died - before I'd even taken a single shot! Fitting it with normal batteries does not extend the life much more either. Usually the battery will die after taking about 10 photos, but if you review your pics through the tiny display or go through the options the camera will die even quicker.

I have had the Kodak DX3600 camera for about 4 years. It has been very good. I tended to use it for home use only i.e. didn't take it out. This was because it is too valuable and too bulky. I used my normal film camera for that. I have a 80mb flash card in it- this give hundreds of pics on best quality and about 4mins of video on best quality. The only problem I have had with it is that the battery life has decreased significantly over the 4 years- I have just brought a new battery and it now works fine again. I would recommend it for first time digi camera buyers as its so easy to use- even a kid could use it!!! Also it has video & sound!!!

Very happy when we first go a Kodak DX3600 camera two years ago, but the battery life with rechargeables is a disaster, sometimes only 10-15 shots, and you have to turn it off after every shot to save power(I run this on normal AA batteries now, which last a bit longer and are cheaper).

Still in good light it takes great photos and once you get in the habit of carrying a few spare batteries with you it's totally reliable.

Sadly the performance in poor light and the battery life means its going and will be replaced this Autumn.

We have had a Kodak DX3600 camera for going on 3 years now & have not a single problem with it. Granted, the Kodak battery provided is bad, it is easily replaced with rechargable NiMh batteries that last much longer. It unfortunately has been dropped several times, but just a few scratches on the exterior. We have had NONE of the problems that other reviewers report... and have had an absolutely awesome experience with this Kodak camera. So much so, that we are upgrading to another kodak (dx6490). The docking station & software makes it very easy to use - even for those who are not computer or digicam savvy.

The picture quality is very good for a 2.2MP camera - just as good as my 35mm in most cases. This camera took over 600 pictures in one week at disney (downloading at the end of each day to our laptop) & again, NO problems. It's a little slow shot to shot, but for the time in which it was made, it is sufficient. The newer models, obviously are faster & better, but we have been impressed overall!

Beware! Don't buy the docking station. The Kodak DX3600 digital camera works fine when you only need to take a few pictures, then you have to charge it up again, that is if the docking station is working that day. The pictures are fine once you get them printed.

The Kodak DX3600 digital camera makes very good, quality prints and comes at a very good price. This is a great digital camera whether for the beginner or casual picture taker who wants to go digital and is very easy to use. I've used it to capture nice telephoto shots with various equipment, so my next purchase will include the needed adapters.

Image quality is substantial at low and high settings. Makes great prints up to full sheet of paper (at hight quality settings! I truely enjoy this camera and have used it with great results time and again both indoors and outdoors.

For the first few days of use! The Kodak DX3600 was fantastic! The software provided was fantastic and easy to use! It took great pictures...for a while! The docking station was also an upper point! But 3 or 4 charges of battery later, i am left with a camera that only stays "ON" for 3 minutes at most! I have tryed endlessly to find information on why this is happening but KODAK were no help, neither were the shops! So i start trying ordinary batteries and the same happens, i only get 3 or 4 minutes of power! SO due to the power pack failing to work, then normal batteries, i can only conclude that it drinks power, VERY QUICKLY! So if you want a camera for 3 or 4 minutes for every £3 quids worth of batteries or 12 hours of charge, then buy it! There are so many better cameras out there! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA!!! I have missed countless moments all because the battery will die. The zoom lens wont come out and you are left with out a camera. The zoom on the camera distorts the picture and makes it all blurry. You cant take pictures from a distance.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. The battery runs down in two hours and you have problems recharching. The connections are not good and you need to keep fiddling with the position of the camera on the dock to keep it charging.

The software will not un-install properly and reinstallation doesn't fix software problems. Try downloading updates from the Kodak site. After filling in the required fields on the required form many times Kodak would not accept my request for download.

This was my second camera the first on wouldn't work at all. DON"T BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I am VERY sorry I didn't by a higher end camera from a different brand! This DX3600 from Kodak sounds great with the dock system and software but what good is it when the battery has never-ending charge problems. I have missed some really special one-time moments in life due to the battery and most recently the lens not coming out. Also the Kodak web site is not geared to help the consumer. The contact area takes you to an e-mail link that conveniently doesn't work! Then they don't show you the phone numbers unless you click on the "Professional" product info. I expect some value for my $$ and I don't recommend this camera at all!

Couldn't agree more. The battery charge problems reduce this camera to a near useless piece of junk that I don't trust enough to take out the house.

THIS IS SO TRUE. I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS WITH MY SAME CAMERA. THE BATTERY IS SUCKED DRY IN A MATTER OF 10 PICTURES. THEN, WHEN YOU TRY TO TAKE ANOTHER PICTURE, THE ZOOM LENS WONT EVEN COME OUT. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER KODAK PRODUCT...

DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA!! I missed pictures of the World Series along with many other family events because the battery would die even though I fully charged it the night before. I returned the first one thinking it was a defect, but the same problems with second one. I contacted Kodak but they were no help. Customer service said that many people have called about the same problem. Thank goodness I got it from Costco and was able to return it no problem. Have an Olympus D-550 now and hopeing for no problems. Will let you know.

The Kodak DX3600 is not a bad digital camera but warranty support out of Melbourne (other side of country) is annnoying. I will know what to look for next time. Camera puts to shame those mobile phone based cameras.

The Kodak DC3600 is my first digital Camera (and what a buy).
I always had trouble taking good sharp pics with my old
35mm, but that soon ended when i bought the Kodak DX 3600,
The pics i take now are perfect, sharp, clear, good flash,
Zoom,..The menu for each section is very Plain to understand no problems at all, downloading pics is so simple its a joy, And the good thing about the camera is you can delete the pic right away if it was no good and shoot again,
I use Paint shop pro 7 and the dx3600 is recognised by this program. So after i have downloaded the pics and altered them i then send them to psp7 and crop them and resize, then i send them to webshots to use as my wallpaper, and all thanks to Kodak DX 3600,

The Kodak DX3600 digital camera takes excellent pictures. Even riding in a vehicle and taking pics at 65mph, they all turned out great, except one we hit a bump in the road. You have to learn how to adjust to digital cameras. I've had my DX3600 for just over 2 weeks now and have taken over 300 pictures. I've used the zoom quite a bit too, look at the screen on the camera, then when you take the picture, look through the lens and center the picture. Before you take a zoomed picture hold the picture button down half way and the camera will auto focus on whatever object you have centered in on. Then finsh pushing the button down the rest of the way to take the picture. This is my 2nd digital and I really wanted the zoom. I've been pleased with this camera, enough 2 of my friends have also gone out and bought this same camera. As for videos, I've been very pleased with them too. It takes some playing with all digital cameras to learn how to take the best pictures and you can use the software that comes with them to "sharpen" any zoomed pictures your not happy with. I have sharpened about 3 pics is it. This is a great camera at a great price! I have the docking station and have ordered the len's kit. Happy Clicking :-)
