Hire a car as there is no public transport, Malia cars are good. They also do excursions at half the price as the tour reps. A trip to Spinalongo is a good day out… Read Full Review

We only paid under £500 each for 2 weeks all inclusive and we couldn't find anything any cheaper for just self catering. It is a lovely village, which is still very unspoilt. We had a lovely time and met some great people in and outside the Sun Village hotel… Read Full Review

Written on: 04/05/2007 by sebrowne (1 review written)

I have just returned from a short break at Sun Village, booked just 2 days before I travelled. I too was worried when I read the reviews on Review Centre but my concerns were totally unfounded!

The hotel was pretty, set in a good location and had the biggest pool of any I saw whilst on Crete!

The whole complex was clean and well kept! Our room was cleaned on all but the first day we were there and the pool was completely emptied and refilled. The pool area was clean and tidy and there were… Read Full Review

Georgek's Response to 256062_alak's Review

Mr Alak wrote his review before the hotel changed hands, since September 2005 Sun Village is not all inclusive, it has new management and a new owner. All clients in 2006 are satisfied!

Written on: 12/10/2005 by mps (1 review written)

I have just returned from an AI holiday at The Sissi Sun Village in Crete, and I found the facilities were very basic. 1*, definitely not A class or 4* as advertised.

My main complaints include:-
. Quality of cleanliness around the pool area was non existent - no one cleaned the pool furniture or picked up rubbish, broken glass, dirty glasses, and cigarette butts everywhere.
. The dining area provided inadequately cleaned glasses and plates etc.
. The kitchen staff wore dirty clothes.
. The… Read Full Review

Very deceiving, be careful what you buy over the telephone! apart from the good suntan and 1 good night in Malia the rest of the holiday at Sun Village was the worst we'd ever been on and wished we'd chosen somewhere else… Read Full Review

I went to the Sissi Village hotel as part of an all inclusive package, and although the meals were not always up to scratch, they could have been worse. the evening meal was not as nice as the other two meals, but in all, It was a good holiday. the pool bar was quite nice, and I loved the banana ice-cream, although it was rather off-putting that the glasses used for ouzo are also used for soft drinks, and you can taste the ouzo when having a soft drink… Read Full Review

“Sun Village, Sissi, Crete. ”

Written on: 14/07/2005 by allan1942 (1 review written)

Sun Village, Sissi, Crete.

This holiday has to be the worst holiday we have ever had. There were only two redeeming features, the room and the sunshine. My wife and I usually go on All Inclusive deals as we find this easier. However on arrival we were told that there was a weekly charge for air conditioning of 35 euros that is about £24 per week and another 10 euros for the safe deposit box. No beach towels are provided and usually with fully inclusive deals you get a bottle of water a day for… Read Full Review
