“Upgraded to Palm Zire 72 from a Sony Clie Peg sl10...”

    ★★★★★

    written by zinzan on 27/10/2005

Upgraded to Palm Zire 72 from a Sony Clie Peg sl10 and wow what an upgrade! - I thought the Clie had everythin I'd evey need, but this is awesome! - I got the GPS package with software from Viamichelin..which has finally been upgraded to a usable version.

The Palm PDA (not pocket PC as described above!) is an awesome bit of kit, has applications like documents to go etc. Bundled with it that are a breeze to use. Downside would be no application to transfer applications from memory card to handheld memory, but Freeware Filez takes care of this. Also has a voice recorder and digital camera built in. I use this as a portable movie player too, thanks to freeware tcpmp - and there is enough battery life to last a full movie. I haven't had battery problems like the other reviewer mentioned - yes it needs charging regularly, but for what it does its great. unless you use it hours everyday, the battery should last a week easily - I find I charge it and my cellphone at the same time.
Camera is functional, but not up to a decent stand alone digital camera (it's all in the lens!) but is ok for party shots etc. Easy to use, comfortable to hold, very happy with it - now if only itunes was available for it!!!
definitely 10/10. Planning on getting the keyboard so I can type up notes more easily on my commute.

Downsides as mentioned above - screen has a slight whine (can only hear it if hold it close to ear), and no application to transfer files from memory card (solution - freeware filez)
