Plas Talgarth is probably one of the most beautiful locations in the UK, unfortunately that's the only good part, the accomodation and service did not warrant one star, in my opinion it literally requires hundreds of thousands of pounds spending on the units to bring up to an acceptable standard.

The upgraded apts at the Plas Talgarth, Pennal, Wales have been done to a good standard, so far. The decor is tasteful and will appeal to most people.
Loads of lovely clean white bed linen and towels, thank you.
Well equipped kitchen, dining area, etc.
But, I do hope they get round to doing the crummy 80's bathrooms too. The tiny baths and corner baths are awful and the showers are not great, the extractor fans are dirty and very noisy and not at all effective!
It would also have been nice and useful to have had some lovely smellies in the bathrooms, and at these prices it would have been an expected treat. Stayed at Abode Group last year, lots of FAB, LUSH products for their guests.Hint, hint.
Indoor pool lovely, Loads of activites, Well Done.
Not too happy about the outdoor pool being scrubbed down while guest were using it though!

This Place is great! I've been going there for 14 years, and ever since whenever it comes around to may i've found myself longing for it, and it has really grown on me! I go with my dad and my sister and my step-mum and it's the best place i have ever been on holiday!!!

About 5 miles from the beautiful coastal village of Aberdovey & 4 miles from the market town of Machynlleth. Snowdon, Barmouth, Porthmadog, Aberystwyth all within easy reach.

If you are looking for a resort to stay for a week or two and see things in Cymru then Plas Talgarth, Pennal, Wales is a good spot to be. I don't recommend it for anyone looking for a quick stay and a close drive.

I disagree, I've been going to talgarth for 25 years, the only possible reason anyone would go is the stunning location, this aside, the accommodation is poor, its often dirty and I think it is also outdated and by and large worn out. Pretty much every time I have gone we have called housekeeping and asked for the unit to be recleaned, which they attempt to do but even then the standard is poor and you end up putting up with it. The service in the restaurants is slow and the food is below par. You might well ask why we still go its mainly because we have been trying to sell for years, but so far no luck.
