This hotel is not suitable for people with babies or toddlers. When we arrived our room was up 2 flights of stairs and they refused to move us so we had to carry the pushchair with the baby in up and down the stairs all week. The hotel is at the top of a very large hill and everywhere you go is very tiring to walk to all the facilities. The pool was ok but main one was salt water, it was also very slippy and quite deep for young children, there was a very small pool for toddlers in the corner of the complex. The food was very repetitive and there were flies everywhere. There was no entertainment at the hotel, you had to walk to the theatre down the hill and most of the shows were absolute rubbish then it was a tiring walk back. Reception staff were very arrogant and seemed to have no time for anyone. Overall the hotel was ok but I wouldn't choose to go there again. I stayed in the Akti-Club before and it was much much better overall.

I visited this hotel in the middle of July 2007. I have to say I had been to this chain of hotels before so I knew what to was expect. We arrived at night so we couldn't really see the actual size of the hotel till the following morning all we knew was that we had travelled up a hill. After we had finally unpacked we went for our morning meal the walk to the actual hotel was 10mins, the killer was walking back up to our room, the steepness of the hill was just horrid us. But the make up for it outside our room there was a small swimming pool for the 5rooms closest to us. So if we needed quiet from all the other people at the hotel we would jut laze about in our own pool. The entertainment it was amazing!! Where our hotel was situated there were 2 hotels next to us. The beach was again a long walk but was worth it as the games you could get involved in were going on all the time and the beach bar was amazing with all different drink and the bar staff were nice as well always a smile on there faces. As for entertainment at night there was a large theatre between the hotels that everyone could go and sit in and watch the nightly shows. They consisted of "mini disco" first followed by "bingo" then the nightly shows, comedys, musicals, and karaoke which was my favourite. As for the food, well it was out of this world! Breakfast would always be the same but a selection of food you would never get bored.. cooked freshly in front of your own eyes!! Lunch had a great selection of food also and dinner well there was a woman cook who made fresh pizza in front of us, she would make the pizza base and throw it up in the air... then put the toppings on and place in the kiln. I would say this is the Hilton of Greece, all the staff were nice and always happy. There's this little pub down the hill of the hotel where you have to pay for the drink (very cheap) and then you can watch the sport, or chill out on the computers or once you've bought your drink go into the cinema room which was just amazing fully air conned and you could watch movies for free, most that hadn't even come out in the cinema yet at this time I watched "hostel 2" and "room 42".
Also many nights after the entertainment finished at like 1 ish I would then go up to the pub or go into the disco club, which was nice n just like being at a club in England cost 3 euros to go in, the drinks were cheap and almost everyday when you were around the pool or on the beach you would get a pub worker giving you a voucher for "buy one drink get one free" or "buy a drink get a free cocktail" the music was up to date all good fun. One last thing the only problem we had which you will get at any all inclusive hotel, sunbeds, we would have to wake up early to get them but its ok, your always gonna have this problem.

12 of us went to Kardamena for 1 week. We had a good time, but we amused ourselves at night, as the entertainment at the Family Village Hotel was on the poor side. They could do with some pool tables to keep teenagers happy at night. Staff were very helpful, and all areas were kept clean and tidy. It was a fair hike to the rooms if you are at the top, but once there, the rooms are large, clean and cool.
I would go again.

We loved Family Village Hotel. We were dreading it after having read a weather forecast for rain all week! Weather was fantastic. Hotel itself was excellent and staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Food excellent although a bit repetitive - no stories of food poisoning here. Perfect for children - ice creams on tap for them and soft drinks, hot dogs etc for snacks. Very clean everywhere. The pools were VERY slippery - be warned although the water slides pool wasn't and this meant hours of fun for the children and peace for us. The beach was also very good for a toddler - soft shingle which meant less in mouth and nappies! Sea wonderfully clear. Cannot recommend this hotel enough despite the climb up the hill which even with a pushchair was do-able. Good supermarket on site opposite the sister hotel - Norida - which was definitely more upmarket but bigger queues for restaurants etc. No queues at all at Family Village, loads of sun beds and basically very nice people around too. No chavs here which is always a pleasant surprise!

Family Village Hotel:
We took a family holiday to this Kardamina in May this year (2004) and like many others that go on holiday we didn't know what to expect. When we got there we were amazed with the hotel, they cleaned our rooms every day and the hotel was spotless, the staff were very friendly and helpful and they could all speak English. The food was excellent they cooked it fresh for you and there were loads to choose from, I would recommend this hotel to anyone, It was also great for kids they had kids clubs through the day and kids entertainment through the night, I will be going back next year for sure.
