Staff people very unpolite, speaking about the manager of the restaurant in this hotel, he was the worst person ever because I could understand what he was saying to disabled and elderly people in his own language. Many times I heard from him " I wish you die ,you old ugly .....".
This is heart breaking things to hear from a person like him, that should respect especially these kind of people, insted of treating them so rude.
Food very bad, service also not so good-staff do not speak English.

The hotel was clean and the staff were pleasant but we didn't enjoy our stay and don't think it deserves a 4 star status. Bingo every night is not to our taste and there was not a separate lounge where one could escape the noise. The food arrangements were redolent of Butlins. The buffet system resulted in the food being cold and there was no service as such. Even had to make our own toast and drinks. Much of the food was of poor quality, on an island where citrus fruits abound why do they serve cheap watery orange juice? The nightly roasts were acceptable but were spoilt by indifferent vegetables and other meats were tough and stringy. The price of drinks was exorbitant. When you can buy a bottle of gin for 5 euros how do they get away with charging the same for one gin and a stinging 7 euros 50 for a gin and tonic. Charging for tea and coffee in the room after the first complimentary portions is just greedy. No we would not recommend the hotel.

Crown Resorts Horizon Hotel is fantastic, great staff all round especially the animators, they worked really hard and were extremely friendly, the food was great the rooms all had great views and were spacious and the entertainment was very good.

We went to crown resorts for our honeymoon. When we first got there everyone was friendly and it seemed like a nice hotel until the next morning at breakfast!! Heaven forbid you should go in and find your own table, we would then be escorted prison style to our table by the rude waiter. Another few days in we went to a Pizza restauraunt and we only ate half so we brought it back with us, the next day we received a snotty note telling us we were not entitled to bring our own food and drink and if we wished to eat or drink to do it downstairs in the bar area. From this point we didn't buy anything from the hotel. It isn't the kind of hotel for young people. All in all we felt like we were in a prison camp. We do not intend to go back to Cyprus again as this resort put us off.

Well I wont pull any punches, just got back from the Crown Resorts Horizon hotel having been so called upgraded as my original hotel was overbooked. Well checked into reception for my sea view room, got to room no ea view it was at the back of the hotel, went to see the receptionist who I hasten to add has no manners. No please or thank you and very unhelpful, having explained my room error she said she would tell the manager, this went on for 3 days still no manager then gave up and put up with it till I get home to see the agent. First night in the restaurant ordered a large orange squash charged at 3.75 euro.ok then later from the hotel bar Ermins, ordered the same this time 3 25 euro. Why the diff I asked the girl, she then walked off. Next day ordered pint lager shandy from the bar 4.5 euro. Ordered same later charged 6 euro for the same drink again I asked why the diff price for the same drink different girl, said that was the price, So I decided not to drink it out of principal. It would appear that unless you kick up about the various prices you are charged for the same drink someone is conning you out of your pocket. Asked for the price list there isn't one on the wall only a little list by the bar counter like a menu. Now the food, but before I start don't blame the chef his hands are tied as the menu is selected by the food and bev mngr. I booked half board spent 3 nights in hotel, ate the rest outside in the restaurants. Breakfast is ok but salads remain the same daily. Had a power cut when I was there it took three engineers to get the telly working because one thought he got the sound and vision when he only got vision, the other was sent up to get the sound but only got sound on 1 channel and finally the third visit I got all sound. All this after complaining to the very rude receptionist who didn't seem to care a fig. Apparently if you ask to see the manager like I did a few times he must be mythical I never got to see him at all. So to sum up folks.
The staff need a lot of training ref customer relations. Would I go back no way, 4 stars they rate it, yes if they had good management and staff in my estimation 2 plus. Leaves a lot to be desired. I could go on but you got the gist, oh by the way when you get your room its no point in complaining about other rooms making noise it falls on deaf ears.
Have a good holiday folks.

Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday would go again. Nice clean hotel, lovely location, very nice pool and gardens. Nearby beaches were great. Paphos harbour only a taxi or bus ride away. Plenty of nearby eating places.

This is a lovely hotel with lovely pool & gardens. Also close to local shops, bars and bus stop. Beach not as close as had hoped and uphill walk back. Didn't find the staff very friendly and never managed to get served at the poolside bar so gave up in the end. However I did like the position of the hotel in comparison to some and wouldn't rule going back but on a B&B basis only.

Sea view comes at a price ( Noise from bar area and local disco)
Air conditioning "Not switched on until 1st May" Hotel Management even though this fringes their advertisement.
Normal hotel staff are very friendly but the constant noise and having to choose to either shut the balcony door to keep the noise out but then you roast in the room as no aircon as above OR open the balcony door, lie in your bed being bitten covering your head with a pillow to try and sleep. Hmmmmmmm
Food is ok if you get in early. Weekends the hotel is over run by locals who can be very noisy in their little groups.
This could be a great hotel but for us sadly is not. All the other reviews rate this hotel well but the sleepless nights have ruined our much needed holiday.

Beautifully clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Maid service every day. Good facilities, and a well equipped gym. I thought the food was good, and although it was generally bed and breakfast, we did eat in on two occasions. A four course buffet meal for £8 CYP was excellent value. Although we sat around talking in the bar and restaurant long after closing no-one chivvied us up. It is a very relaxed place.
Allowing topless sunbathing and swimming around the pool is a bad thing. There are some figures that should definitely remained covered, mine included.
The corridors were very warm, and public areas warmish, but bedrooms were beautifully cool with air conditioning working continuously.
Entertainment was variable, but I'm biased as my family and friends are in the business.
I had a good holiday in Paphos, and I would go back to the Crown Resorts Horizon again.

No air con except in your room. We booked 4* AI allocated on arrival and thought we would be ok, however, it felt more like 3* F/B with drinks thrown in to us, breakfast & dinner was taken in the very hot restaurant, unless you went outside, the food was not so bad here but not of 4* standard, the rest consisted of the food being put out at 12.00 in the coffee shop and staying there until 5.00pm, it was more often than not cold and all dried up, the menu was more or less the same for the whole 2 weeks and once dinner was over the only snacks available were cold and I mean cold sandwiches, these were very thin ham, you had to pay for tea/coffee in your room and if you wanted to use the fridge you had to pay for the mini bar. We will never book on arrival again and think Thomson's should down grade it to 3*, we are going to the St George in December and am looking forward to this so much as we know that the standard is so much better.

I would not recommend the Crown Resorts Horizon Hotel in Paphos. I don't think it deserves the 4* rating the Thompson brochure gave it. The Rep was very helpful and passed on all the guests' comments to the manager. Several guests complained personally to the manager regarding the air conditioning and entertainment, but found him dismissive. One guest was told the air conditioning was too expensive, and another was told it was because the guests insisted on opening windows, so it was their fault the air conditioning was switched off!!
I have stayed in Cyprus several times as my husband is Cypriot. We usually stay around Larnaca. I prefer Larnaca as there are not so many Brits, and compared to Paphos it is relatively unspoilt by tourists.

Stayed in the George last year, same rating but far better than Crown Resorts Horizon. This holiday was a price breaker, Thomsons said all the hotels we could stay in would be the same standard, rubbish.

My husband and i have just returned from Crown Resorts Horizon, we have had the most fantastic time, everything was perfect. All the staff were very friendly, especially the reception staff. We thought that the food was really excellent and varied, each night has a theme: Roman Night or Cypriat Night for instance. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are cleaned on a daily basis. Would I go to this hotel again? YES!! I would go back tomorrow if I could.

Booked the Crown Resorts Horizon last minute and hadnt been to cyprus before. Family holiday with 2 teenagers. On arrival reception staff were excellent, very friendly. Room was lovely, clean and spacious. Outdoor swimming pool very nice, Indoor pool was very nice also. During the day activities were of a great standard.
Location was ok, but not as close to the beach as we'd hoped.
Few shops and bars very nearby.
Overall was an excellent holiday, enjoyed by all.

We booked the Crown Resorts Horizon through Thomson in Oct 2004. We expected 300m from the beach to be at the end of the garden - not across a main road, although of course we should have looked more thoroughly into this. The hotel was fine with excellent facilities including health club and sauna etc. The pools were lovely, however it was disappointing that other guests (and yes they were English) saw the necessity of putting their towels out first thing in the morning to reserve their sunbed!
We made the mistake of taking half board. I have not been to a 4* Hotel where you have self service. The food was pretty awful, sometimes inedible and you can eat much better food at restaurants outside the hotel. The only downside to eating/drinking outside the hotel (in Coral Bay) is that all the bars were showing football virtually every night - I guess the English are managing to ruin what must have been a beautiful island!
