“Nice phone”

★★★★☆

written by andycrimson on 05/12/2021

This phone has a nice appearance, which is a big selling factor nowadays. It's also not a brick; it's a good, sleek size that makes it easy to operate. The configuration of the keypad, as well as the general ergonomic design, give it a modern appearance, which adds to its attractiveness. Excellent camera for ordinary usage, with enough of capacity to store those shots.

“Long lasting surprise find.”

★★★★☆

written by Camilla407 on 12/10/2020

I found my Sagem my V-55 after 16 YEAR,S! at the back of a drawer while having a cleanout, Charged up in no time, bought a new SIM card, connected up no problem, It was like i had just bought it, I still like the slimline feel and no messing functions of the phone, a pleasant change from the I phones & Androids that sometime have a mind of their own, I will be using it alot more from now on as it fit,s into the smallest of pocket,s, OK it has a couple of little hiccup,s but it does me when i am out and about.

“this product is dreadful sagem my v55 ”

written by on 18/08/2010

this product is dreadful sagem my v55
i have a usb to fone cable and the mypictures and sounds softwre the program crashes teh computer after trasnferring each picture
i am unable to tether teh pc ot the internet thru the fone
sagem website are utterly unhelpful couldnt give a damn
when reading a text message teh fone rings i answer teh fone i loose teh text message vodaphone usb mobile broadband dongle software doesnt detect teh sagem my v55 fone connected to the pc i cant use tesco or lebara sims in the fone without paying someone to unlock it
the £15 per month broadbadn service from vodaphone advertised as 7 mbps is in fact only 10% of this connection speed if you press control alt delete and view teh networking tab - so im getting £1.50 of a £15 per month service when i complained vodaphone sent a £200 bill i sued the srevice for three months - the itemised data usage bill does not explain why teh data usage was divided into 3mb chunks and includes no information on the data trasfnered not the website or what the file was or whether the full file was trasnfered in the first place conecting to the internet but dot open a browser 20mb trasnfered to the fone in 10 minutes - i havent opened a browser how can the fone receive 20mb of data which im paying for when im not conencted to anythign other than the network
does anyone know the processor in here?

I've only had this Sagem MYV-55 phone a few days, and already love it. It looks good, which is a high selling point nowadays. It isn't a brick either, it has a nice slim size, which makes it confortable to use. The layout of the keypad and the overall ergonomic design gives it a modern look, making it all the more appealing. Great camera for everyday general use, as well as a lot of memory to store those photos. Plenty of space for contacts, pictures, sounds and more. Comes with a vast choice of tones and backgrounds preset into the phone for optimum choice. I would really recommend this phone to everyone.

written by on 05/05/2008

I have had this phone, the Sagem MYV-55 since Christmas 2004 and I have not had a single fault with it. It never freezes, breaks or nothing. The only point I would say bad is the camera. Its okay if your not wanting good quality from it. I am going to be buying a new phone within the next few weeks but the only reason is because of the camera.

If it was reworked by Sagem, with a good camera, MP3, internet, then it could chart to the top again.
The handset is an excellent one, don't change it.
Looks and feels great.
I loved this phone, I wish I still had it

Overall, the Sagem MYV-55 mobile phone is excellent value for money, and two of my friends have them on the Vodafone network.

The screen doesn't look like a 64,000 screen because the quality of it is brilliant.

The camera takes fine photos, but they sometimes take about 10 seconds to save.

It's well worth it for £40.00. Please feel free to leave a comment on my review.

I've had my Sagem MYV-55 mobile phone for nearly 2 years, and every so often it freezes up and you have to take the battery off to unfreeze it.

The sound recording is good, but the recording sound time is only 30 seconds, so it needs to be a bit more. The camera can be good, but you can't move it too quickly after taking a picture because it blurs.

Well I agree with you on the point you had on the phone pausing but it's good value for money on vodafone.

written by john9159 on 18/08/2005

People have raved about how great the camera is on the Sagem MYV-55 but you don't realise just how poor the quality is until you transfer the pictures onto a pc. They are just fine when viewed on the mobile but that is what they were specifically designed for. If you intend to transfer, set the photo format to high resolution to give a larger image suitable for viewing on a pc. You will, however, find that a high level of light is needed.
Many people have had trouble with data transfer cables, bought mainly on e-Bay, which have not been too reliable.
The price paid was 80.00GBP (120.00 Euros) which included 20.00GBP of call credit.
When choosing a camera phone, make sure the resolution is at least 2Mp if you want respectable images on your pc. I can send samples of pictures to give an idea of the poor quality, just contact me at [email protected]
The sound recording is very good but a bit short, it has a sensitive microphone so don't hold it too close to the source, especially if music; I recorded some of the performers in the Jemaa el Fna in Marrakech and the sound was quite impressive.

Camera is very good! It has a good sound recorder of good quality, but only available for thirty second recordings at a time. The photo modifier is also very good, with frames, added joints and blur, emboss and the like.

Although the picture quality appears to be good when viewed on the mobile, once you have downloaded them onto your computer the results are quite poor.
I am unsure as to whether it is the low grade lens which is to blame or the slow shutter speed which causes blurring even when in the high resolution mode.
High levels of lighting are needed to get a bright picture but they are still blurred.
No amount of photo editing can improve them.

I think the sagem myv 55 is good it has loads of storage space and I think it's waterproof because I dropped it into a puddle of water and it's still going good, no problems I'll give it 10/10.

The Sagem MYV-55 is good because it's a very good price good camera, has changeable covers and is great for kids age 10-19. The connectivity (on the side of the phone) Is very handy because you don't have to pay for sending and receiving music and photos to other Sagem phones. The mobile can only have the sound loud or silent unless you spend a long time looking for how to turn it down.

“For heavens sake do not let your battery run out...”

written by robertmay on 16/11/2004

For heavens sake do not let your battery run out completely, I made that mistake.
The Sagem MYV-55 phone switched off as I had run out of battery so I plugged it in to the charger after a few hours the screen said that the battery was charged so I unplugged the charger the screen said switching off, which I didn't mind as it was in the evening and this is a work phone. I took the phone to work in the morning and realised that it was still switched off, I pushed the on button and nothing happened, the only way to switch on after you have completely run out of battery is to plug it back into the charger and switch it on whilst charging otherwise you can't switch on at all. I thought this was a fault with this phone so sent it back to Vodafone who sent me another one which did exactly the same thing. Also cannot find how to proramme speed dial numbers, there is no metion in the hand book and nothing in the settings or applications screens.
