Firestarter, A Book Of 566 Pages (in The Edition I

Firestarter, a book of 566 pages (in the edition I read) tells of a young pigtailed girl called Charlie who is possessed by a terrible gift, a gift that a certain government angency called The Shop is very interested in using as a weapon. What I loved about this book was its incredibly original, thought-provoking plot, its believable and mesmerising characters, and the way that King makes you care about these characters, particularly Charlie, very much indeed, to the extent that you physically cannot put the book down until you find out what happens to them. John Rainbird is also one of the most frightening villians I have ever come across. This is one of those rare books that makes you stay up all night reading and miss school/work the next day because of it. One of King's finest!

Stephen King, Firestarter - The Story Centres Arou

Stephen King, Firestarter - The story centres around a young girl and her father trying to escape a government agency who are tracking them for the girl's "superatural" power of being able to create fire. The story twists and turns as she is sometimes unable to control her power and it turns against her by hurting innocent people.
