De Dietrich DOD338

I bought this oven thinking the cleaning function would be useful. I have to admit that it is super. However everything else is useless.

The design is appalling. The shelves often collapse, pouring hot fat onto the bottom from where it flows into the cupboard below. The light keeps failing. The heating elements keep blowing. The back panel fell off.(Twice). Customer service no help at all. I paid a local to repair everything and now its failed again. Junk.

De Dietrich DOD338 double gas oven is made of stainless steel, excellent design. Easy to use. Pyrolytic cleaning great. Door easily removed (see Utube video) revealing two screws which enable removal of glass for cleaning..

We purchased our De Dietrich DOD338 oven as part of our new kitchen package. We were told it was the biz!

A black glass double oven/grill with Pyrolysis cleaning in the bottom oven. (Heating at high temperature to remove all splatter, smoke and smells).

It certainly looks good!

The De Dietrich service is so impressive that we were even offered a free demonstration within our home. A lady would come one evening and cook for us!

When it was installed, the top oven didn't work so we contacted the service centre. It took a week for a repairer to become available.

We have since found that the temperature is very uneven and not very hot when the top grill is used unless it is on the full heat.

The grill pan doesn't slide well between the grooves and tends to warp part-way through cooking.

The top door has a solid seal around it but the bottom door has vents running across the top. Within weeks, dust had settled between the two sheets of glass on the bottom door.. Something has also run down the vent and we have a streak inside the door as well as the dust. There appear to be no screws to take the glass apart so we are waiting to use the Pyrolysis cleaner when the oven gets dirty to see if that will remove it before we contact the service department again.
