I Thought Gran Turiso 3 Was Good! Gran Turismo Has

I thought Gran Turiso 3 was good! Gran Turismo has really been revised and well thought out, this is easily the BEST game I have ever bought! A must have for any PS2 owner. Great cars, so many things to change, the smallest tweek is the difference between winning or loosing. Everything in th game has been beautifully done, you wont regret buying GT4 even if you already own or have completed GT3. I personally think the long races are a bit much, as it is hard to find the time for them.

As I Recall, I Got Gran Tourismo 4 Back When It Fi

As I recall, I got Gran Tourismo 4 back when it first came out.

I'd previously played Gran Tourismo 3: A Spec and the concept cars version (I can't remember the name) and found them to be very good, so no surprises then when I stuck this into the PS2 - right away I found it to be a slight improvement on its predecessors, but not too much had been changed so there was still the Gran Tourismo feel to the game.

I used to be very addicted to this game, spending every minute allowed on my PS2 to play it - but now I've spent so many hours on it and I've done everything there is to do, so I find it very hard to get back into the game.

General overview :

- Graphics are good for a game on the PS2 - they were great for the time and have stood their ground well - still being better than most newer games.

- Gran Tourismo is of course, as the slogan goes, "the ultimate driving simulator" so expect the physics and general gameplay to be as realistic as it gets.

- There are so many cars to choose from - I recommend starting with a second hand or tuned car as you get more performance for your money.

- There are also many tracks to choose from, as well as a wide variety of music including some very strange stuff.

- Multiplayer could be better - not all cars and tracks are available and graphics are considerably worse on multiplayer modes.

- There are some insanely long endurance races to put yourself through if you want to get all of the cars.

Overall, I have found that Gran Tourismo 4 is a good, if not the best racing simulator - it's just a shame that there's no damage.

Another product recommended by Cognition - hope this has been helpful.

Well, I Bought This Game Secondhand Off A Friend O

Well, I bought this game secondhand off a friend of mine, and for how much I paid for it (£15) I can't complain AT ALL.

There is so much to do! You have a massive choice of cars. There are about 700 in total, ranging from small coupe's, all the way up to GT race cars, from popular car manufacturers across the globe. There are 50 tracks in total, including tracks from original Gran Turismo games, like Super Speedway and Apricot Hill Raceway (my favourite), and also real world tracks like the Tsukaba, Fuji Speedway from the 80's, 90's and present day, and the famous Nurburgring.

The graphics are fantastic for a PS2 game, but then again it was delayed for about a year or so, but it was worth the wait!

There's lots of music as well.

You can fine tune your cars too. For example, you can adjust the gear ratios of your car, as to whether you want high acceleration or high speed. You can adjust downforce, the limited slip differential, adjusting torque and power displacement, adjustable suspension, whether you want lower ride height, stiffer or softer springs, and you can change the appearance of your car by changing the alloys and spoiler.

There is such a great sense of realism compared to other games I've played, and you can tell whether you are in a Front engine front wheel based car, or a 4WD, Midship engine, or front engine to rear wheel based cars - you notice the distinct handling characteristics; for example, when you are in a 4WD you can tell you have more traction. You are pushed and pulled through corners of the race track; it's such a great feeling.

I can only point out two bad things - They haven't got the most popular Italian car manufacturer "Ferrari", which I thought was a shame. And the fact that there is so much to do! You can never complete it!

I hope my review was of some use.

Regards

Tom

I Love Gran Turismo 4 - I Haven't Got That Far In

I love Gran Turismo 4 - I haven't got that far in the game but I usually just build up my money in the 'special conditions' races. Here for 2 easy races I can earn about 250,000 credits so after a few times doing that race I can get a good car. What I do now is Drift the cars. That is where I find the game unrealistic. If you turn full lock one way and full throttle in a rear wheel drive high power car with all aids turned off the car does not loose the back end as it would in real life. I paid £30 for the game but I'm still glad I got it. I recommend it to anyone.

Yes I have driven a car. A MR2 twin cam turbo with about 270BHP to be exact. No I have not drifted a car, but I have been in cars whilst the have been drifted, and the back end will kick if you floor it out of a corner, unless you have a good suspension setup. Too hard will cause over-steer, as will too soft, but too hard is much easier to control. I think Gran Turismo is a great game, but I wish it was a little more realistic in some places.

ajmachg

Hi mate. Just wondering if you have driven a car in real life!? Oh, and of course drifted one, especially in a rear wheel drive car?! Just wondering... As I don't know how it could be unrealistic when Gran Turismo 4 is supposed to be the best driving simulator??

Gran Turismo 4 Is The Ultimate Driving Game. It Gi

Gran Turismo 4 is the ultimate driving game. It gives you the closest thing to driving a car with weight distribution, tyre grip, car setup and all the things that effect a car in real life. Let down by being so real it can up dull and no online mode either. Still worth buying for all car fanatics.

Gran Turisimo 4 Is The Closest To The Real Thing Y

Gran Turisimo 4 is the closest to the real thing you'll ever get.

I have spent countless amounts of hours in front of my TV, and still stay mesmorised. This game will stay a legend for a VERY VERY long time. Personally I don't think any other titles will ever supercede this. Fantastic job guys, for slaving your butts off for punters like me.

Gran Turismo 4 Is The Best Racing Game Ever. The G

Gran Turismo 4 is the best racing game ever. The graphics are excellent and the cars are the most realistic I have ever seen in a racing game. When I'm driving it feels almost like a real car. This is by far the best car game. If you haven't already, I suggest you add this gem to your collection.
