“excellent place”

Written on: 09/11/2015 by Fordjk61 (1 review written)

I learnt to ride here and learnt all about owning and caring for your own horse. I went on to buy my own horses and land using the knowledge from here and come back here on a weekly basis for lessons. I used to have a freelance instructor come to me but now come to lanjeth, it is lovely in the winter for the indoor school and my dressage has really come along. They are also extending theit outdoor school to a 20x60 which is fab. He is very helpful and thorough and is not afraid to jump on… Read Full Review

“Was only there a year, learnt so much”

Written on: 31/10/2014

I have only gone to this riding school for a year before heading off to college but they set me up perfectly for it. I have learnt more from them than I ever did at my previous riding school which I was at for 2 to 3 years and I volunteered at. They can be strict but it is a unpredictable sport on a large animal, can't complain about them wanting you to be safe. they teach at your pace so are not rushed into anything they feel may be too much for you, they specialize in dressage which I did… Read Full Review

“Best riding school ever!”

Written on: 11/12/2013

I have been horse riding for 7 years. The owners can be strict but as I was always told you have to be cruel to be kind. This is the only riding school i have even been to. I go to own a pony days. It is just a amazing riding school! I would certainly recommend to anyone… Read Full Review

“Never go there”

Written on: 18/11/2012

I had a couple of lessons at Lanjeth and would never step foot back on the place. The owners are very strict and make out they know what they are doing but I was just shoved up on a horse and led around whilst the lady talked the whole time. A complete waste of my time and money. They seemed to treat everyone like they are children and talk down to everyone… Read Full Review

“Awful”

Written on: 13/09/2012

About time the Owners of this place retired. They do not teach the children much and by all accounts they are not the nicest of people to deal with. I rode there for a while but have learnt much more since leaving. They are patronising and do not think you can do anything for yourself. I would avoid this place at all costs… Read Full Review

“Super Riding School”

Written on: 23/05/2012

Lanjeth Riding school taught me everything i know, i found as a child there could be some strictness within the teaching part but this encouraged me to progress further. I learned everything from dressage to jumping and all in between with them. As a child i also attended own a pony days which teach grooming, tacking up, mucking out and all the basics of horse care... these days are continued now within school holidays. I now keep two ponies there, one now 4 they have helped me to break in and… Read Full Review

“owner very curt”

Written on: 18/02/2012

I took my son for a private lesson, which was only his second in two years. He is only five. I had to lead the horse myself which i thought was wrong. My son got shouted at and spoken to in a very patronising manner. The lady spoke to me like i was a child myself. Horseriding should be fun. Lovely stables but poor owners. I am now taking him somewhere child friendly… Read Full Review

I went to lanjeth for a year and during that time i never learnt to tack up, canter or jump. Their teaching is very outdated and i never progressed. When i had private lessons there the lady would talk to my mum for half an hour while i was walking round the school endlessly. The first horse i rode there was probably 15-16hh and i was only 7 and small! I havent been back there so i dont know whats changed, but i would like to know… Read Full Review

I have rode and lead at Lanjeth for about 15 years, they have well established qualfied instructors and all the facilities you may need. They start of slow with the young children but you can progress very quickly depending on your abilities. i jump almost every week in my lessons as thats what i ask to do, they also have own a pony days in hols so children can come for a day and learn the basics of cleaning and using tack, grooming, stable work, etc… Read Full Review

Lanjeth Riding School is absolutely terrible. My daughter rode there for a year and learned nothing. The children are taught in an out dated way and do not progress. I moved her to another school and within weeks she was cantering and learning fast. The owners of this place need to retire!!!

On the positive side their health and safety was fantastic but this is mainly because they didnt allow the children to do much… Read Full Review

I keep my horse Angel at Lanjeth Riding School and have 2 lessons a week.
I have been there for nearly 3 months now and they have taught me everything from tacking up to feeding to grooming to riding. They are always willing to help and are so patient. Angel is my first horse so things were difficult at first, but they were always there to give me advice and evem lend me their equiptment.

With indoor and outdoor schools avaliable you can ride no matter what weather. I pay £35 for an hour… Read Full Review

Written on: 28/05/2009

I went to landjeth for 2 years. We never got taught how to canter or jump. I felt as if i was doing the same thing every week. They have nice horses but i think they need some smaller ones as most of them are over 15 hh, which isn't great if you have a beginner child at the age of 5 or 6. There hacks were very dull as you just went around the fields. I never really progressed that much.I also felt that i just came there to ride, and wasn't taught how to tack up or groom which was a… Read Full Review
