Their clothing, shoes, and accessories are fantastic; I think that they provide excellent value for money and have a wide range of styles. I still notice so many things I want to purchase if I go to Zara because they have some of the nicest clothes in the best condition, but their pieces can be very expensive.

Every thing I have brought from Zara have been amazing. From Coats, jeans, jumpers, bags and tops. They feel more superior quality and more stylish than other high street shops. The prices are fair too. People with a bad experience quite rightly vent their frustrations on here but more rounded reviews are needed to represent the company properly. Overall Zara is trustworthy, the products are good value for money and good quality. (Also Zara sales are Fantastic!) Every in store and online purchase I have made with them has been great.

I had to write this review, because I ordered from Zara.com several orders in a very short period of time, one of the orders was missing 2 items, however i contacted Zara.com by Email and let them know about the missing items. In mean time I checked the reviews on line about the site, there was a lot of negative reviews, some of them saying that they had missing items in their order and Zara.com had never send them the missing items and still charged them for it!!!! I got scared what would be the case with my order. However today i received an email from Zara apologizing for the inconvenient that must have caused and that they are sending me the missing items, so I felt I have to be fair to them and write my experience. Zara.com customer service proves to be excellent at what they do unlike what other reviews said.

Okay, to be honest, i'm a Designer items addict, and always thought the quality of Designer stuff is much higher. Well, not really....yes from time to time Zara produces dodgy looking quality of garments but over all the price vs quality goes kind of hand in hand. I get the idea behind it - they price it cheap so that we, girls, get to buy more, change the style more often, improvise and try on new things - Who doesn't love that? Yes, i'd never buy shoes from the store - that i'll stick to my designer stuff....but you know what, i feel equally great in a Zara boucle jacket as i feel great in a Chanel one.....

Bought an overcoat from them and its been incredible to me, its a great cut, the quality it as good as any i have ever owned, sadly i have worn it sooooooo much its starting to wear out on me. Its still not falling apart though. i will literally wear it until it falls to bits. I can not give Zara enough credit and thanked for this jacket! If anyone out there has the same jacket you know exactly which one i am talking about.

I have been shopping at Zara for some years now, but over the last few months I have been shopping there very frequently. I recently went abroad where I bought the majority of my clothes from the Zara online store. I have to say I was very happy with how the products were packed. I thought the paper wrapping and boxed packaging was very nice for what you paid for the post and packaging, much better than other stores where you pay the same delivery costs, and your parcel arrives in plastic wrapping and looks cheap. I found no fault with the quality of the clothes I bought, I have had a few things in the past which have not been as well made as others, but this is just typical of all stores where clothes are mass produced and I have had clothes from topshop, H&M, river island and ted baker that have all had faults and required returning. The style of Zara clothes is also very good. While I was on my holiday I lost count of the compliments I recieved about various items of clothing, handbags or shoes. I am still recieving regular comments now. Most recently it was for a handbag. I think Zara sells very good quality, well styled clothes compared to stores such as New Look and ASOS. The materials used are quality materials, such as genuine leather sandles, handbages and silk shirts/tops and for this reason I think the prices are very affordable. I have shopped a few times in the Sheffield store and found the customer service to be very good. The staff are always busy but I have had no problems getting a refund and the staff are quite friendly. I have shopped once in the York store once and the cashier on the till was very friendly and chatty. In summary I am really happy with Zara and will continue to shop there regularly as most of my buying experiences have been good.

I am actually an employee of zara and have been working their for a year and I would actually like to say something to the complaning customers. In the past 8 months I have been called swear, had words clothes thrown at me, had metal little balls thrown at me had customers being rude and aggressive sometimes it is almost scary as I work in menswear. The thing with zara is that it is understaffed and the managers put pressure on the employees and work them to the bone. Everytime we miss our target then the less sale asisstant we get and like 1 cashier on meswear (it is chaotic). How is that going to help us make more money? and 2 sale asisstants 1 in the fitting room and 1 on the shopfloor closing section getting the clothes from the fitting room and putting it on the shopfloor replenishment and checking items for customers. So the reason a sale asisstant is avoiding eye contact is probably she has a 101 things to do and it has to be quick (click of a finger the zara classic way of working) slow people do not last long. Plus a lots of workers do not understand english in a way if your naive and innocent in zara you get walked over. I am a cashier and I have to be authorative sometimes. I am on the till and on the shop floor I check items in the stockroom which by the way is a mess nothing is organised sale asisstants sometimes climb and nearly kill themselves for customers
Some of the sale asisstants have to put clothes out do the replenishment confirm open the boxes or transfers and put them in the stockroom and register them and oh yeah be on the shopfloor.
And the refund policy is strict. I am a cashier and I have to call a manager. Sometimes the managers take the p out of my life and that gets the customer upset at me but its not my fault the manager is making them wait. The managers then shout at me for constantly calling them or ignore me and you cannot say anything either way.
A lot of you complain about refund or exchange without receipt. I tell all my customers the refund policy. I think our policy of 30 days is the best. I think I do more refunds then purchase to be honest. It only becomes difffcult when a reciept it out of date or lost. Zara has a strong policy no refund without receipt. However exchanges can be done at manager discression a cashier has nothing to do with allowing a refund or exchange its all upto the manager. If a cashier said yes he will do it she/he was porbably trying to be helpful. And you cannot refund without the inside lable or washed its common sense as it will not be sellable. In zara we allow you to take tags of other stores do not even allow that. And when I say no sorry the customer acts like I am lying and that I make up the rules and am the head of Zara but its policy and all we do is deliver rules. But we are sympathetic my managers do sympathise with customers for exchanges without receipt (no refunds) even though it is outside the companies policy and they will be marked for it later. Plus coming to a cashier with a bag of refunds in hard for us as we have to enter all the details manually (ancient tills) so please understand if we are 'slow' it is not like your buying something. And you are not the king we are people too. And calling about a refund is tedious we cannot tell you anything over the phone it is a waste of time as the manager has to physically check.
Managers I beleive provide excellent customer service. And take their anger out on us. The customer is always right. But at the end of the day we are people and customers treating us bad during a 13 hour shift were your getting paid peanuts doesn't help boost your customer services especially when your overworked.
In addition for an exchange you have to exchange something for the same price or more same applies without reciept if manager authorises it. We cannot pay back the difference because our tills are ancient. Once my manager authorised it and the head office gave him a warning. Because our tills our ancient this is how we process things if we exchange something even 1p less we are 1p down on the till and you get in big trouble cause that means when cashing up it will take over an hour to fix and you have to call the helpline. And the cashier has too write down the discrepancy and can lead them to get a disciplinary and even getting dismissed. We do not make the rules
In addition zaras computer that check items in other stores is not 100 per cent accurate ask them too call for you next time they will be happy to do so.
Another thing is we CANNOT CHACK SALE ITEMS customers have shouted abuse at me on the phone but it is our policy everything is on the shop floor some sale asisstant who are cashiers do it because they know were the clothes are as they put it out. But we cannot hold sale items behind the till anyways so I always tell my cashiers not too cheack. A sale is a sale you go and check I do not need your life story of how far your going to travel its common sense.
And prices sometimes new season items are misplaced with the sales. I mean customers come and put things in different places thats what happens in a shop and when I tell the customer and you tell me no it was their it does not matter. Unless it has a tag saying that price then I can ask my manager to change it otherwise no. Whatever the till say is 100 per cent accurate people chack prices on the till not by the tags.
But I do try my best to smile provide customer service and eye contact and I meet great interesting people. But when I am literally doing 10 things at the same time its hard. But some times we are so busy and understaffed its really hard. In addition their is always new cahsiers new sale asisstants who are not trained properly and do not know anything and somehow becomes my responsibility or any other 'senior' to show them (even though we are not paid for this).
Being on the shop floor going stockroom calling up other stores checking item replenishment (checking manually what sizes we need on the shop floor and going stockroom finding it in the mess and putting it out) closing sections throwing rubbish (even in the toilet doesn't matter if the mouse is their) confirmation on deliveries and transfers pending, updating, checking holds the tailor service (calling some customers individually to let them know if it is urgent) the percentage by collection in which we have to find out the percentage zara made the previous day by adding up all the money and the quantity of the clothes manually. (during serving customers)in the morning. tagging at least 10 boxes of accessories on Sunday (while serving customers) and putting it on the shop floors. Sometimes I feel like a robot and this is human slavery. The hours are like 10-10 which technically means 9:30-midnights. As we never close on time due to being 'understaffed'
We have to wait for the customers to go we never push out a customer like other stores so sometimes close half and hour or hour once we closed 2 hours late. And then the cashiers cash up any problems with money even 1p s serious thats why we do not like extra change as we count the money ourselves and maybe close other tills too. We do our paperwork. Which by the way we have to do every hours and put away money in the safe amidst the chaos and get the reund and exchange reciepts signed asap by managers who seem to hate doing it.
We then get the rails the transfers the returns to the warehouse out of the corridor (round 20-30) which blocks the stockroom and usually hit your leg and nearly kill yourself when in a rush for a customer
throw the plastic hangers categroise the wooden ones throw the rubbish (includes from toilet) and do this upstairs downstair. break the empty boxes sellotape together. And by the time 2 or 3 of us do this wer sweating. But no we are not finished. We then get like 20 empty rails take it upstairs and have to take it to the delivery placee street along with faulties and pins and tag. And then we have to ask our manager if they need help and then help closing cause they always need help.
Also I wanted to talk about discounts and faulty items. If you come upto me and say 'Oh look this is ripped' I cannot give you a discount its not in our policy we do not give discount. All we do is send it back to spain every thrusday when we do the registering of faulty items.
And do not come upto me with one pair of a shoe (sale) am not going under tables for you and looking for you you got your own arm and legs can you not see I have 10 people in a queue at the till? If its new season am more then happy to ask someone
And do not lie too me and say an items not on sale so I can chack cause I always check on my till and no we do not have toilets I did not build zara.
And if you want another bag or double bag then communicate with me, I will do it. We do not give suitbags to sale items (managers rules)
Please do not change your mind and have an hour conversation whether you want to get it or not cause zaraz ancient till means i gotta void the whole receipt which sometimes doesn't work and the manager has to authorise it and sign it (unitl then i cannot do anything) and scan the items again
And no we do not refund you in credit we only have zara giftcards and our ancient machines freeze everytime we activate them and its not a way we can do it in our till otherwise we would.
If you need to fix a button or anything come back and ask and we will check and give it to the tailors for free it takes three working days. And if you want me to call you and let you know when it comes back I will.
Please do not call me 'oi' or use your hands to communicate with me I am not your slave we are people too. Talk to me like a normal human being.
Any questions or help let me know please thank you very much
So please have a bit of sympathy for us cause we do not make the rules it is the head office with their ancient technology and their crazy european way of constsantly making koney and the strict managers its how you get by working in such a fast pace environment you have to exceptionally good and customer service is hard for a lot of native spanish workers (and no am english).

I received the BEST customer service at the Edinburgh Princes Street store from the manager there. I had to return 2 cardigans that hadn't been worn, but was worried because I was a day out of the return time (30 days). This was not a problem at all - he couldn't have been nicer or more helpful :o)

Zara is a wonderful shop. Especially the kids section - it's not tacky or too old for them, and shows good tailoring. I have regularly bought from Zara, and it's pleasing that the new styles are in quickly, and sales are good, with some racks full of clothes priced at £6! I also like how they have a good selection of plain clothing, as this is hard to come buy in other shops. Admittedly, sometimes you get lose strings etc, but for the pricing and the look, it doesn't really matter. I wish more people shopped here.

I am a regular shopper at Zara and love how they have new and fashionable stock in each week. The clothes are of good quality and the staff I find to be very helpful and friendly. Compared with other high street stores such as Topshop, I find the clothes to be for the most cheaper and of better quality.

well the quality of the clothes and items in the Zara store are amazing so i would be willing to pay that little bit extra on the highstreet for that more designer look than paying full wack. fabulous

I've worked in sales for more years now in several fields and i've found it's not a chore to give decent customer service. It is obvious from the reviews that there must be problem with things like training. From what you've said, it is more about the task of doing the general chores of the shop floor, merchandising, delivery, tidy, fitting rooms etc, but through the pressure you are forgetting who and what you are doing it for. It's motivation assistants lack and it get transfered over to the customer. The body language, the tone, the words you use all contribute to the customers experience. Ask yourself the question, do you like your job, do you enjoy customer service, when you can answer those questions positively you will be able to treat a customer with decency regardless. There are some SPECIAL customers yes. The customer is NOT always right, but you know what I find, if you grit your teeth and don't rise to the challenge and assert yourself over them like you said you do in a polite manner they have NOTHING to complain about, easier said than done. An average retail transaction lasts roughly between 2 and 5 minutes stick it out I say.
<br/> Your managers are at fault for a lot of this as I believe they tend to focus on the things that cover their backs for head office recognition and in turn bend yours over so far you can't even see the reason your there. The company's reputation is astonishing. As a regular customer at Zara I've come to expect indifference, air of superiority and coldness I expect nothing more, I get my clothes and get out, and as I do feel the tension release from my shoulders on exit through those doors, this is what Zara portrays and emitts nationwide, but not necessarily what Zara is or can potentially be. At Zara I feel a simple smile can go along way well recieved or not.
<br/>P.S Not all Zara staff are like this, some are LOVELY, wish I could say all.
