Went To Formby Point As A Day Trip From Manchester

Went to Formby point as a day trip from Manchester, and I can througly recommend it. It's got a lovely little nature trail through the woods, where you can see Woodpidgeons, and Red Squirrels (which are quite ridiculously cute).

It's also got a fantastic beach. Miles of sand in both directions - you can see blackpool tower at one extreme and just about see Liverpool at t'other. There is a grand total of one loo, which is about a mile from the beach, so be prepared to utilise the sand dunes.

Unfortunately it is spoilt by broken glass on parts of the beach and by a fair amount of litter laying around.

All in all, though, if it's nice weather, I'd thoroughly recommend it - it costs £3.50 for a car, as it's a National trust place. Well worth it :)
