As A Doubler, I Was Looking For A Flute With A Pro
As a doubler, I was looking for a flute with a pro quality sound without the five-figure price tag. Comparing this flute to others in the 2K-5K price range, the Signature was clearly the standout in terms of depth of tone. The mechanism is also wonderful-scale passages come out much more cleanly than with my previous (Yamaha 481 ) flute. If possible, I recommend trying more than one because I was able to choose the best of three Signatures and there was a difference between them. A great instrument!

As I Said Above, I Have Played This Signature For
As I said above, I have played this Signature for three years, since buying it new. It is sterling throughout - not rhodium plated. This was, in my opinion a initial mistake on Powel's part to plate the flute. When they went to the sterling mechanism, it became a Powell.
I have used it in almost every conceivable genre, from orchestra to solo and chamber music. I use my Haynes backup VERY LITTLE these days.

Powell Signature - This Instrument Is Well Made, A
Powell Signature - This instrument is well made, and lives up to every expectation one might have of a Powell - without the cost! I love the flexibility and depth of the instrument, I can make the instrument sound exactly the way I want it to!
She is right, it is the best flute in the world for the price.
