Staff at the Quality Hotel Royal in Hull were very friendly and helpful, food very good - both evening meal and breakfast.

The location of the Quality Hotel Royal in Hull is central - right next to the railway station. Not exactly salubrious. Stayed for a Saturday night - wedding parties downstairs into early hours - wouldn't recommend if you're intending going to sleep early. Noise didn't go down well with the wife and I, as we weren't there for a party. The condition of the room was a bit disappointing (toilet very reluctant to flush, reading light not working), but nothing too bad. Breakfast was reasonable. We didn't stay in for an evening meal, so I can't really comment on the restaurant. We didn't use the swimming pool (in another building just outside the hotel), but it looked clean and OK.

Would not recommend the Quality Hotel Royal. The price is poor value for money. The literature given to customers cannot be trusted. Although the hotel claims it offers 24 hours room service, this is untrue as night service does not commence until 22.30. Instead of baguettes served as the room service menu offers, my tuna came spread between 2 thin slices of bread and without cucumber as the menu stated. This was priced £5.25 and then there is a £3 extra charge, a total of £8.25 for a tuna sandwich with crisps and no salad; presentation of food is unprofessional, the plate was placed on a round stainless steel tray with nothing to line the tray or the sandwich. Very ordinary and over-priced.
