History Of Guns, Flashes Of Light Lp Starts With T
History Of Guns, Flashes Of Light LP starts with the amazing Flashes Of Light Parts One and Two which takes up the first twenty minutes of the CD! And you wish it could just go on forever... the songs twist and turn and develop and fall apart. Millions of tiny sounds and textures so that every time you play it you hear different things, and the whole while there's Del Alien talking, singing, whispering, shouting and generally coercing you deeper into his warped world and whilst you're there, it all seems to make perfect sense!
After the stunning opening, there's four short songs in wildly different styles ranging from hammer beats and shouting to maudlin piano, whilst all the time Del Alien's great goth voice going on about his crazy stuff, before closing with Flashes Of Light Parts Three and Four.
Three goes beyond crazy and I'm not sure if it's all meant entirely seriously, then the big sweeping, pounding part four to close it all off.
I love this album and can't stop playing it. It's at times goth, industrial, dance, punk but if never feels foreced as if they absorb different styles and then create their own style. It's refreshing to hear such genuine originality from a UK act.
