05 model I have had for three years will stay with Renault now , cant believe how fast the acceleration is leaves most cars standing , but will pull nearly anywhere in 5th gear up steep hills , comfortable for both driver and passengers ,sensors do good job and repairs carried out before major problems arise make this car an affordable venture into high class motoring ,only niggle I have is kept catching front skirt , not much clearance from ground but have got into habit of appraising grass verges when making tight three point turns , happy motoring to all of you

my wife has owned from brand new, freeway 1.2 petrol, nice looking car, plenty of room inside, average 42mpg,onboard computer, smooth gearchange, smooth clutch, very sharp brakes, quite alot of road noise above 60 mph, excellent heater, bad bits horn packed up,new dvrs seat fitted, new rear axle,9500 miles for a set of rear tyres,on a front wheel drive car, renault customer care very good,a very good town car ,but long journeys you would be well advised to get a bigger engined car

I have owned my 51 reg Renault Clio Dynamique 1.6 16v for 9 months and I am pleased with it in every way, I dont think I can fault it at all apart from it appears to be a little heavy on the petrol, but this is the first petrol car I have ever owned as all my others have been diesel. With mine being a dynamique plus its got the full electric pack and lots more that come as standard like remote locking and ABS CD player electric windows on board computer factory fitted alarm the list is endless I have just had a new cambelt fitted with water pump etc from the Renault Dealer at a cost of £399.00 all in due to the age of the car eventhough its only got 47,000 miles on the clock with a full Renault Dealer service record.
Well done Renualt for making a great little city car

I own a renault clio dynamique 2001. I have had nothing but problems...
I had the belt changed on it when i first got it, which i understand has to be done considering the millage it had done. Second my heaters then failed to work so then had to have the whole unit replaced. Ive also had many other parts put on this car, which in some cases are common.
Ive had many electrical problem differant lights comming on and then off? I have an engine cut out problem were the car just decides to cutt off.
And now ive just found out my head gasket is going..:( so my opinion is DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE

Bought a renault clio 1.2 dyamnique petrol for my first car and oh boy do i love it, so easy to drive very very nippy for a 1.2 better than them crappy chavs corsas and looks way cooler too. but my one did need a new timer belt also immobliser change due to it not starting up properly, also the coil pack packed up a few weeks ago but its running perfect now with a new one. So if your looking for a nippy good looking carfor ur first then i suggest you buy one of these and also they give you very good mpg such as 50+ or 60 if your a smooth driver. Any morons that hate these cars then u are just plain stupid.

I have had my 06 new shape Renault clio for 6 months now and although I love the car I am slightly disappointed with the problems i have had with my brakes. The problem didn't start till a couple of months after buying the car then i got this awful squealing sound not just when i was breaking but when i was setting off in first gear and slowing down to junctions. The car was still under warranty so i took it back to ian shiptons where i purchased it. They said my discs and pads were fine and ironically it wasn't doing it while they had it. So i then tried taking it to a renault dealer hoping i would get it sorted from someone reputable. How wrong i was. They said exactly the same thing as shiptons and suggested i booked it in to have the brakes cleaned but this would cost as it wasn't included in the warranty. Being quite fed up at this point I had a family friend look at it who isn't a qualified mechanic but knows alot about cars through having a keen interest in them from a young age and he said neither of the garages had even taken the wheels off to check the discs and pads. He took all the wheels off dusted the pads and used copper grease. He also said the pads and discs were wearing a bit but should be fine for a while yet. This solved the problem for a couple of months but it has now started again. After being disappointed with the service from renault and shiptons i am undecided on what to do now the problem has resurfaced as i know the pads and discs will probably need replacing. But being a young woman who doesnt know anything about cars i dont want to be fobbed off again but this time be charged on top for the privilege.
The good points about the car are for a small car it has more room inside than you would expect judging from the outside. It is smooth to drive, nippy enough for a girl of 20 and its nice to know you can have that extra umph to get ahead out of trouble if you need to whilst driving. The new shape and features make it look more up to date and sportier. I also have the tinted back windows on mine which is a nice effect.
I still very much enjoy driving the car despite the brakes putting me off but buying an 06 which is quite a new car for me i was hoping i would avoid these type of problems and it has made me wonder if i had gone for a non french make would i have been better off.

Exellent car, the best 1600 on the market! Anyone who dislikes this car is mistaken, there is no 1600 on the market that offers what this car offers, this car is awsome and very fast, cool, sporty, economically very good!
I will never sell this car in my life! This is value for money! Well done Renault.

I have the Renault Clio 1.2 Dynamique Billabong version & have owned it from new in 2003. I love this car. For only a 1.2 it's pretty nippy & I tend to win pulling away from traffic lights! It's a nice looking, neat little car & having the Special Edition Billabong, it has the cool grey/green sports seats. The sound system is of excellent quality & even my speaker snob, music mad friends have commented on it being good! Plus considering it is a small hatch back, it can easily seat 5 people. Only problems I have had in the 5 years is the sunroof tends to rattle a little bit, but not enough to drive me mad. Also the o2 sensor (whatever that is!) broke about a year ago but I think that was more down to the dodgy contaminated petrol than the car. Would definitely recommend it!

The Renault Clio Dynamique is without doubt is the most fun I have had in a standard city car. I prefer to drive this rather tham my own car which is a high performance V6 engined motor. Its impressive to see so many high rating comments, totally agree, if you are looking to buy a car that you will not want to get out of buy one of these but its got to be the 1.6.

I ' ve had my Renault Clio for 3 years and I still LOVE it, I've had a few wee problems with the coil, and it broke down once...wouldn ' t start one day, turned out to be some sort of computer.....was covered under warranty though. (I would advise getting some sort of warranty) however I just love driving my Clio, it ' s so comfy and the sports seats hug our bum and make driving very comfy especially when on a long journey! I ' ve had a few problems with the CD player too....sometimes its doesn ' t recognize cd's and comes up with an error but its nothing that would stop me recommending the car. It ' s great for a 1st car and a lovely wee runaround! Over all 100% thumbs up and I would really miss it whenever I give it up!! GREAT CAR!

I fitted a carbon fiber air filter and straight through exhaust, and i've raced 320bmw's 2.0 primera sri's corsa's saxo's loads and believe me when I say if I don't keep up with them, I beat them, but after about 120 it starts to die because it maxes out at 130!
but what a great little car, mine has 62.000mls and still going strong.

The Renault Clio Dynamique 1.6 16v is a nice overall car, it drives well and is so easy to drive, it feels like it fits like a glove, and you know you have chosen the right car when you can do a 4 hour journey and still enjoy driving it. Also I can't really fault the service from Renault, although the tyres you get on the car from new (Michelin Energy's) are not the best. The tyres that replaced them with are the Michelin Pilot Exalto (really good tyres).

What is the fuel consumption of the Renault Clio Dynamique. Very important in this day and age!
Written on: 17/04/2007
About 37 I normally get out of it worth sensible driving (not over 3500 revs).

I have owned my silver 51 reg Renault Clio Dynamique 1.6 16v City Car for three months and I am pleased with it in every way, I dont think I can fault it at all. I have just got a KandN 57i induction kit and a new backbox with twin 3"tailpipes, this makes the car even faster than it already was which is around 9.5 to 60. With mine being a dynamique plus its got a full electric pack and loads more that come as standard like remote locking and ABS which I know from experience is effective. I love the handling and looks of the clio and I think its got a lot of potential in modifying. Although I think the 182 has got to be next.

The Renault Clio Dynamique 1.6 16v is a comfy, nippy city car. I have the electric sunroof as an option and an LPG installation which makes it very cheap to drive and the LPi installation even gives it a few BHPs extra, plus it makes it more environmentally friendly.
I also fitted a cotton replacement air induction filter, making it pull a bit better on low revs and it makes the engine sound just a bit better.
I've bought it new and have currently about 40000 kms on the counter with zero problems.
Handling is good and it corners very well. On lower revs, it's fuel consumption is good and it makes very little noise. When you push it beyond 4500 revs, that's where the fun begins and it pulls like nothing else in its class but prepare yourself for more fuel consumption. Even on higher speeds, it keeps pulling and pulling which is quite impressive even for a 1.6.

I have had this Renault Clio Dynamique 1.6 16v City Car (my first car) for 2 weeks now and boy does it fly. It easily leaves most cars standing in most situations, and will even keep up with such things as saxo vts if pushed (destroys the vtr). Simply amazing when cruising and the spread of touque across the rev range means acceleration is a doddle in any gear. The standard kit is best in the class, with auto wipers, auto headlights and steering wheel controls for the radio, which i might add has six speakers and is also very good indeed. Yesterday the airbag warning light came on, so I took it to Renault Leicester who immediately fixed the problem under warrenty and even washed and valeted the car when i returned. I have had mixed results from fuel consumption although on the motorway I have reached 56 mpg which is not bad at all.
Do I reccomend this car?.....Um YES!

The Renault Clio Dynamique is only my fourth car. My last car was a peugeot 306 1.8XT which I thought was quite fast. So imagine my amazement when I bought this! It's such a good little car, great looks, superb handling due to the great alloys that come with it, and it does pack a punch for a small car! Easily beats many cars on the road especially the likes of VTR's and such!! If you are looking for a good looking fast car and you don't have that much money then this is the car for you. Mine cost £5,800 on a Y plate with 19,000 miles on the clock. The insurance isn't bad either compared to other cars with similar performance. Compared to the other cars in it's class this is by far the best you can get. Compare it to a VTR which is only an 8 valve you get 20bhp more and only one insurance group higher. The clio is 10bhp lower than a VTS but its also 6 insurance groups lower too! I can't tell you how much I love this car and I thoroughly recomend it to anyone who loves driving!

After my Ford Ka, my Clio Dynamique 1.6 16v feels like a Godess. Fuel efficiency is good too, when driven calmly (I average 45mpg). Put your foot down and let the revs climb above 3500 and that's where the fun begins! "Move over you pretty boys in your Mini Coopers, the Renault owns the road in this class!!!" How much do I like my Clio? Enough to be saving for the next one up... the new Clio 182... mmmmmmm, she rocks!
Written on: 23/01/2005
Well anyone like myself who used to own a Ford KA can see that anything that is more fuel efficient like the Clio has got to be a whole lot better! I incidentally do not have my KA anymore for the same reasons.
