“Comfy, FAST and elegant!”

★★★★★

written by ImmanuelCannon on 08/02/2015

Yamaha Majesty 1999 125 Had mine for about two years now and never let me down. Fantastic scooter that looks like a 500 (and rides like one too!) loads of storage and extremly comfy. Perfect for those big rides as can easily hit 70 on a carriageway. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a 125 scooter!

Very pleased with the machine! I gave about £400 for mine with 12,000miles on it, Very well built. There is a few Gotcha's like to change the water have to take the front fairing off! otherwise all is good. The handlebars on this model could do with being slightly longer. Takes a little getting used to! Suspension very good on this model cant complain. Very Good machine otherwise

“I got my majesty second hand from a "family friend"....”

★★★★★

written by on 29/12/2010

I got my majesty second hand from a "family friend". It had less than 1000 miles on it and was mint condition. I got it for £350 so no complaints there! Its my first scooter, and I'd say its a bit big and heavy for a first bike, however, beggers can't be choosers. In terms of looks, its quite old-school. Ride comfort is excelent, but the small wheels are worrying on uneven roads. Fuel consumption excelent - £10 for a full tank and lasts ages. Acceleration is very good, and Its quite quiet.
Overall, a great bike, but its probably not the best for a first bike for an 18 year old, which I am.

“Not for kids. ”

★★★★★

written by on 03/12/2010

Not for kids.

Its name precisely describes the style of riding it represents. Majesties should be owned by sedate, staid citizens like myself; they suit well both with an elegant outfit or a casual style but they are always calm, and a bit too circumspect while pulling up.

On the other hand, how comfortable, stylish and reliable they are, it's worthless to write; one'd use up three more paragraphs yet wouldn't get to the gist

“Yamaha Majesty 125cc Scooter ”

★★★★★

written by omegamorgan on 29/06/2010

Yamaha Majesty 125cc Scooter
I was very luckky, I spotted this very low mileage (425 miles TOTAL..on a 2002 )...going in my local breakers in Chorley...for £1295 !!!!!...Genuine mileage, one lady owner...never used it!!!!....Absolutely MINT condition...stored in Garage.)
Doesn't look like a 125, looks more like a bike.
...Anyway...4 weeks....1000 miles later,....Very reliable (Unless you put Diesel into the Tank...yes i did!(Drained the tank, refilled it, took the air filter off, and blow'Quick Start'' into the carb.)...it's my age!!
It is comfortable to ride, a bit hard over a bumpy road, but seating comfort is ace, over distance....Road holding quite good, am not a FASSSST rider, I'm 63, and prefer to get there in one piece, as chieply as possible.....With this in mind, driving at an average speed of 35 miles an hour, I am getting Fabulous MPG from this 125....From a full tank, have had 103 mpg-105 mpg....this could be because of it's newness...some scooters drop off over the years.
Twist and Go convenience, but not startling acceleration.
The Mini windscreen, that is standard...is garbage, and throws the flies, rain and dust into your eyes....DIVI make a FULL Length windscreen that is easily filled and costs £72...free delivery.Good investment, and protection.
Top speed ...is 72 MPH, downhill, but is probably closer to 65 mph.
The Disc Breaks , front and back, are excellent, and real stoppers.
....I Like this scooter,...WAS a Honda Lead man...not any more. ....... [email protected]

“Okay,it's not the most stylish of scooters I admit. ”

★★★★★

written by on 22/06/2010

Okay,it's not the most stylish of scooters I admit.

That said, it is reliable, quick, easy to maintain and more importantly it is a comfy ride (I'm 6'4" tall). I use it to travel 10 miles through London on a daily basis and she does a good job. I get about 150 miles for every £12 of fuel @ £1.25 a litre. You can't complain!

Top speed is 72mph and acceleration is enough to pull you away from traffic at the lights.

The only drawback is that at slow speeds the clutch can jump and balance isn't terribly stable at 5mph.

Hope this helps you decide

I would recommend this scooter to a commuter as it's an easy all rounder!

“Yamaha Majesty 125 is a revalation, purchased in Spain...”

★★★★★

written by on 16/07/2009

Yamaha Majesty 125 is a revalation, purchased in Spain therefore I can ride it on the motorways and with a pillion passenger anywhere, on a full european driving licence.

plenty of power for what we require, and can be used by myself or my wife, that is one of the primary reasons for choosing this machine.

This is our first foray into 2 wheeled powered transport because, where we live, the weather is too hot in summer for cycling, and motoring does not allow the "freedom" of fresh air.

I sincerely hope that we continue to enjoy our new aquisition, it is not suitable for speed merchants, or indeed long motorway or fast dual carriageway travel. It is ideal for a spot of shopping, and a pootle to the beach, or visiting friends living within 10 miles.

Plenty of storage space, and although the vehicle has now been replaced by the more powerful and modern X-city (at 1800 euros more) it "fits our bill"

Great first bike for middle aged couple (or single)

“Commutes 30 miles a day effortlessly, hits 70 mph on...”

★★★★★

written by dippergt750 on 28/07/2008

Commutes 30 miles a day effortlessly, hits 70 mph on motorways (and I'm 18 stone!) and will still do over 65mph two up! Looks smart and carves through the traffic like a hot knife through butter. I have had two "hairy biker" types ask if they could have a go after passing them in heavy traffic. They chased me for 8 miles before they caught me up. Very nicely put together and economic to run. I really cannot think of much to say against this bike.

“I got a good deal on this Yamaha Majesty 125 scooter -...”

★★★★☆

written by denmate1960 on 20/09/2004

I got a good deal on this Yamaha Majesty 125 scooter - also sold as the MBK Skyliner - and it was worth every penny. It was totally reliable, good brakes and cheap to run. No problem in recommending the Majesty as a first bike, even if the styling is looking a little dated now.

Timblack57's Response to denmate1960's Review

Written on: 11/11/2006

If you like the Yamaha Majesty 125 motorbike but need a bit more get-up-and-go, there's always the Majesty 180. Identical to look at, and (at least here in Spain) it's the same price! According to one road test it can hit a genuine 80mph, partly thanks to good aerodynamics. Worth mentioning that the screen on the Majesty 125/180 is particularly good, as it includes built-in hand protection. The car-style filler flap on the rear flank makes for easier fill ups too. The only obvious fault I can see is the lack of a water temperature gauge with a water-cooled engine (only a warning light). However, it is still a decent little scooter at a very fair price.
