Alicante, Hotel Spa Porta Maris

Rrecently stayed in this hotel - booked two rooms, one with spa access and a premium double with access to spa and hydrotherapy circuit. To our horror, we found we did not have access to the outdoor pool. To acquire this, we were informed we would have to upgrade to a suite, which we did. To our horror again, we then found that we had lost the facilities which we had origionally booked, namely the spa and hydrotherapy circuit.We now had to pay extra for this. We unfortunately assumed that when we upgraded, we would hold the facilities we origionally booked. We were informed of the extras i.e outdoor pool etc but we were NOT TOLD that we lost what we had. Our son was followed into the hydrotherapy circuit and told he should not be there,which was very embarrising for him as he had used these facilities for the first two days before we 'upgraded'. We complained to the manager but got no hearing - a bit arrogant even! You need to be very careful when booking this hotel. If you book a standard room, you will NOT have access to any pool! The pictures shown i.e outdoor pool, are in a different hotel, sercotel suites del mar, although in the same building, same reception, same lift! The advertising is very very deceptive! We felt cheated! Otherwise the hotel (2 hotels) were lovely but be careful what you are booking. They told us we assumed too much!!!
