Avoid
I'd agree with the previous reviewer. The place was rather pretentious and they made it quite obvious that they didn't/couldn't make a bespoke dress for me. I have ended up going to another designer in Knightsbridge who has drawn a sketch and is now going to be making my dress. Shame on you Johanna Hehir.

Waste Of Time...
I had been excited about trying on Johanna Hehir dresses but was utterly disapointed by the showroom. It was a pretentious atmosphere, the staff clearly couldnt be bothered and at a size 12 every dress was too small. I would recommend that if you have your heart set on a Johanna Hehir dress find another stockist that actually wants your business...

Happy Bride
I don't usually write online reviews, but I noticed that JH has had a couple of bad ones on this site, and so I feel obliged to give my account.
I had a very clear idea of the type of dress I wanted, something with a slim silhouette and with sleeves, no veil. I had been to 7/8shops in Glasgow, Oxford, and London, and had very little success. In general, no suitable dresses (suggestions included buying a strapless one and having sleeves stitched on), and while most of the assistants were helpful, I had one abysmal experience in a Glasgow shop with a profoundly uninterested and unhelpful assistant. So by the time I came to Johanna Hehir, I had tried on a number of different styles and had had varied experiences.
I had a fantastic time in this store. I came with some ideas of what I wanted to try on, based on the pics on the website, and Caroline (brilliant all the way) pulled out some more dresses of similar styles. In fact, the dress I ended up buying was one which she selected, and which I had written off when I saw it on the website. As soon as I tried it on, I knew it was the one.
I found the whole experience to be excellent. At no point did I feel that I was being pushed into choosing or buying; I was never rushed; alterations were made, and the dress was re-pressed twice at my request, without any problem at all. In the end I went for the made-to-measure service which worked very well for me, this was absolutely not forced upon me and the people in the shop emphasised that I didn't *have* to go down this route. It is a shame that some brides appear not to be happy with their experience in this store, and I hope that this doesn't put off any potential shoppers. The dresses are beautiful, and the staff are very helpful. Caroline in particular is lovely, and I would really recommend the store to anyone looking for a non-meringue, classic dress.

Excellent
Johanna Hehir has beautiful and unique dresses that I found refreshingly different from the usual bridal selection. They also have plenty of dresses with straps, essential for me and somewhat difficult to find in any number at some other bridal salons.
They staff had a good sense of what would suit me - they put me in a dress I wouldn't have picked off the rack, and it ended up being the one I ordered.
I think they are reasonably priced for made to measure dresses, and they were very flexible with me - they managed to finish my dress in time and without any fuss even though I had to bring forward my deadline considerably due to an unexpected move abroad.
Highly recommended.

I Bought My Wedding Dress From Johanna Hehir And H
I bought my wedding dress from Johanna Hehir and had my wedding recently. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the shop and my appointments were never rushed, despite my inability to make decisions on what type of dress, accesorise etc
The overall fit and length of the dress was perfect. It was almost perfect on the 3rd fitting but not quite...so I thankfully had a 4th and then it felt amazing.
You can change the look of the dress to suit you which I really appreciated.
Caroline was brilliant, really funny and chatty which made things fun.
My dress cost £2100 with a £300 veil. I really wanted to have imbuilt support so as to not need a bra, but sadly in this price budget Johanna Hehir don't do this. I'm not sure if other dress makers do. However, on the day, it really didn't matter! I felt wonderful. Everyone loved the dress and I had a fab time.

This Place Gets Quite Mixed Reviews. On The Plus S
This place gets quite mixed reviews. On the plus side - they have some beautiful dresses which won't break the bank. But I do think for a little bit more money you can go to other places where the quality is better. I really really really liked a dress here but decided against it because I felt that I couldn't rely on them to get it right or to make me feel amzing/go out of their way to make the dress perfect etc. On one occassion I had confirmed an appointment and they said I hadn't so had to wait whilst another bride was being fitted - it was clear she was trying to tell the assistant that she wasn't happy with the length but the assistant wouldn't listen and kept ignoring her. In the end I've gone with a designer who I know will listen to what I say (even if they suspect I'm being a bridezilla!).

I Decided To Go With Johanna Hehir Because I Could
I decided to go with Johanna Hehir because I could see right away that all their dresses had a certain quality about them. I think that if you have the budget, every bride should go for a made to measure gown. My dress was stunning, the material was beautiful. I particularly like their acute attention to detail and they were a fun team to deal with!

I Visited This Shop On Recommendation From My Frie
I visited this shop on recommendation from my friend but I wish I hadn't. I was made to feel very rushed throughout my appointment and even though I turned up early I was seen 20mins late. They cut my session though as another client was after me. Luckily I had another appointment booked in Knightsbridge with Emma Victoria Payne and the prices were much more reasonable and it was the designer herself who looked after me. I felt that the staff at Johanna Hehir made it very obvious that I should be grateful that I tried on a designer dress.

I Visited The Store Last Week And I'm Afraid To Sa
I visited the store last week and I'm afraid to say that I had an awful time here. I was put into a small changing room at the back which was dark, cold and had no mirror. I had to come out into full view of everyone (including the guys discussing the refurb of the shop) to look in the mirror. I was also told that they 'have no dresses that would fit over your chest'. I left feeling pretty awful. I was not even asked if I would like to look through the dresses and had to sit with the look books. Having said that, my cousin got her dress from there and loved it. One to try if you are on the thinner side (I am a standard 14 and had trouble), and if you're the only one in there at the time.

Visited In August With The Mindset Of "just Lookin
Visited in August with the mindset of "just looking", but found the Dress with a capital D, and couldn't resist bringing it home with me! (All the way to Norway!) Service was excellent - me and my friends were very good taken care of, they were all involved in the process, which was a comfort to me. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend Johanna Hehir to all brides to be!
