I settled my loan in full then they took another payment from my account. Getting that payment refunded is proving very difficult. Financial Ombudsman next

Doesn't matter how good your rating is, How much you earn a month, How much interest rate you will accept. After wasting 1 month and after ruining your credit ratings the answer will be NO at the end. I have Excellent credit ratings, I earn £3200 a month. Applied for £14000 loan and accepted, asked for required documents and provided, then told me your loan is approved and all documents accepted and money will be in your account in 3 days. 2 weeks later received a letter that your loan application is rejected as Financial conduct authority is not satisfied. I applied in Post office loan and received money into my account in 5 days. Now the question is, Why AA approved loan? Why you wasting my money on postage where you can easily receive docs via email? Why you said we received all required docs and now you will receive money in 3 days? PLEASE AVOID AA LOAN AND ALL OTHER SERVICES IF YOU WANT PEACE IN YOUR LIFE.

Felt that I had to write this to address anyone's concerns after reading the poor reviews. I took out a loan BEFORE reading any reviews, had I read them first it might have changed my mind, but I am of the opinion that people that have good experiences tend not to write many reviews. I decided to use AA Loans after using a comparison website that gave a good rate and 95% of being accepted. I continued with the application and was successful in getting the low rate. I signed the paperwork and was told the payment would be within 2 day. After not receiving the money after one and a bit days I decided to look at the reviews... I was shocked. After a few hours of worrying I checked my bank again and the money was there, well within the 2 days it suggested. So overall, very happy. If you have read the reviews and are starting to worry just hold tight, it might not be that bad!

I rarely leave reviews but having read some them, I was quite concerned so wanted to provide some reassurance to future applicants. Applied, Apr wasnt as advertised but still the cheapest option. Money was received aittle over 24 hours without further checks as many mention, text received several working days later to say "final checks taking place" then a letter arrived a week later to confirm money had been sent. Spoke with AA customer services and they were fine with me

Applied for a loan and was told it was approved. Offered an awful rate despite having outstanding credit. For some incompetent reason e-mails are sent requesting information, but you have to send responses back in the post - what an embarrassment of a company.

I applied for an AA loan at a fantastic rate of 2.7% (being an AA member). I was told I had been approved. However the information received stated my rate would be 5.2%. I immediately contacted the AA loans customer service to cancel the loan. I phoned again to confirm the loan had been cancelled and was told it had been. Four months later my credit rating dropped 153 points stating I had missed payments to a loan I never received. AVOID

I had a soft search informing me I had a 99% chance of a loan at 5.6% Apr. Upon a full application, the Apr was 17.9 %. After calling it was pointed out in the small print that it was subject to change after a full credit search. When I went back in, it did say that, but it certainly was not that easy to see. I cancelled the acceptance due to the deceitful way the small print is worded. Never again, will I use these, should’ve read the reviews before applying. AVOID !!

3 weeks to be declined despite being a customer and having a 999 rating at Experian (who i was pre approved through). No technology. had to upload 100's of documents to a portal that only accepted 6 documents, no communication and then 3 weeks later after, i rang them, they told me i was declined and it was probably Experian and i should ask them. Experian tell me my file is perfect so total waste of 3 weeks, just been on with Sainsburys and have had the money in 2hours. Unbelievable they are functioning and Experian should drop them immediately.

Loan agreed, just wanted some details uploading. Encountered issues, couldn't get through on the phone. 30mins + waiting time every occasion. There's no email address offered. I couldn't even contact them to say, forget it! Avoid the AA for loans at all costs and they are impossible to reach.

I just want to start this by saying, I'm not usually one to leave reviews and I wish I had read the reviews on here before I went ahead with my application. I applied for a 'car loan' to cover part of the cost of my new (second hand) car. firstly, I received no email acknowledging my application, when i contacted the AA after not hearing anything for 4 days. After a fuss, because I didn't have a reference number, they told me that it was with the underwriters and just to 'sit tight' and also that there was a problem with their email system. A further 10 days passed and I still had heard nothing. I called again. Same fuss; no Reference number. Only to be told that my application had been declined "because sometimes it's just like that" and there would be a letter issued. The poorest customer service I've ever experienced. and now I've got to deal with a mark on my previously excellent credit score. AVOID LIKE COVID!

I applied for a small loan to cover the cost of a runaround car for my daughter to learn in. I was going to pop it on my credit card but the loan offered at a 95% acceptance score looked like a better option. How wrong was I! After supplying considerably more information than I did my mortgage, the countless phonecalls as they kept asking me to send, re send information, state they had not received information that they never asked for, they declined my application without notice. The are an absolute shambles of a company to deal with. I later applied online for a new credit card with a lower Apr rate , considerable higher limit than the original loan amount requested, then transferred funds into my account to cover the cost of the car. The whole process took under 3 minutes to be accepted and 48 hours for funds to be transferred into my account. I would advise anyone to steer clear unless you like wasting your time.

Got accepted, I put the wrong account number for my bank into the application, was then told I had to prove the account was valid! It was the wrong account number so the account didn’t excise! For acceptance to now 17 days. The loan was for home improvements that I started and now I’m having to find alternative lending! It’s almost as if they don’t want to lend you the money after they agreed. Min 20 minutes to get through on the phone (no matter when you phone). Avoid

Absolutely shocking! Applied via Experian app. AA loans say you have been accepted for a loan and to sign and return documents that will arrive in the post. 3 days later I receive the forms and return them the same day, they then say the funds will be with you in 2/3 days. Waited and waited and nothing! Called them up and they said wait another few days as they are busy, I waited over a week more and just decided to cancel. After a congratulatory initial email saying that I have been accepted I went out to purchase a new van, paid a deposit and we was all waiting, luckily I set up finance instead (which took about an hour!) and cancelled the AA loan application. Will NEVER recommend them ever what an awful, unprofessional and unorganised firm they are that make you feel that you have received a great loan ant a great rate!

Applied for a loan on Wednesday which was accepted and I was informed money would be in my bank account within two days. Two days later I was still waiting for the money, so I contacted AA Loans only to be told that my loan was declined due to an issue related to Experian. I have a ExperianExpert account so know my credit rating is Excellent so clearly AA operative was mis-informed. Not entirely sure what the issue is with AA Loans, but there is definitely something unusual going on in terms of their business as they are seemingly turning away business. I simply went elsewhere, applied for a loan with Sainsburys Loans, which was approved instantly and the money was in my account within two hours.

Just had a loan application accepted, AA said money would be in account in 2 days and was given a free years basic breakdown cover also. So I put my existing car onto auto trader website in anticipation of upgrading. Rang AA today to make sure bank details were correct and was told my application had been declined and a letter would be sent out to me. I have had to take car advertisement off the website after paying over £40 to advertise...not acceptable AA! Really poor and confusing communication and I will not be renewing my car insurance with you come renewal time. I'm so so angry.

Applied for a loan for home improvememt. Completed the initial eligibility checker, all fine. Completed the application and the rate of APR was much higher than anticipated. Went through with the application, received an email shortly afterwards which said congratulations the application had been successful the money would be in my account within two working days. Within two days I received a letter to say the application had been unsuccessful? Bizarre. Called into Santander (my bank), and had a much better rate and the money in the account within a day. Should have gone there to begin with. Thinking of an AA loan? Stick to breakdown cover only. Not sure why I thought a vehicle recovery firm would be a good choice for a loan. I'll be moving my breakdown cover elsewhere too.

Avoid this company to get loans. They will try to lure you and make it look you're eligible for 3% loan. After adding all the detail the final APR was 21% haha, what a joke. I went with Sainsbury who gave me a better APR rate of 7% and got the money transferred in an hour's time all digitally signed. Time wasters and ruins your credit history.

So fair enough you didn’t offer the representative APR but 13%vs 3.1% is a silly offer that no sensible person would accept- fine. So I called to ask if I could get a better rate for a smaller loan or a shorter term and this is where it gets really stupid. You have all my details, yet the response was not only can we not try a different amount but if I refuse this offer then I have to officially cancel it then wait 30 days before making another applications. That serves neither of us at all. There is no good purpose for operating that way. I am very easily able to afford 5 times the monthly payment on this loan… just not 36* to up front the whole cost, but fine I will take my business elsewhere.

Firstly, I am not someone that ever writes reviews but my experience with this company was so bad, it has prompted me to write one. Secondly, I take out loans every couple of years for my sideline building projects which when the property is sold, I pay the loan off. So I have experience at dealing with loans and paying them back and so I know what to expect with them. I went with the AA after typing in all of my details on Moneysupermarket and found the AA to be the cheapest loan at 2.8% APR. I got accepted straight away and told they were sending a pack through the post(arrived about a week later). When the pack appeared it said congratulations on being accepted for the loan at 6.9% APR. I rang back and questioned this with someone on the phone who told me the reason for this would be down to my credit score, to which I explained to him it was 999 out of 999. He then changed his tune and said actually very little of it is to do with credit score and that I should be happy with 6.9% as a lot of people get between 10% - 18% and that 6.9% is actually pretty good. I explained it wasn't when I had been offered 2.8% on Money supermarket and only went with the AA due to them being the cheapest. For the sake time (as a week had already past), and the fact I was planning on paying back the loan pretty quickly I decided to proceed and uploand the relevant docs to their online portal clarify the info I'd given them was correct. Once done I would get emails from them a day or 2 later telling me the file wasn't complete and they needed more info. After another 4-5days of going backwards and forwards they finally had everything they needed and I got an email thanking me for uploading everything and again telling me once again I had been approved for my loan at 6.9% and I should get a letter confirming next steps within 5 working days. After 6-7 days of not hearing anything I rang them back and they told me they had no update, apologised for the delay and said it's due to the the high volume of applications they had and that they'll be in touch very shortly. At this point I decided to read the reviews and they were all pretty terrible with the common theme of being people being offered a low APR, then getting accepted for a much higher one, getting told they'll get a letter with in 5 working days, nothing then coming through the post for nearly 2 weeks and then receiving a letter right at the end saying they had been declined. So guess what, after no letter for nearly 2 weeks, I rang back to ask what was happening to be told that there was a letter in the post and that I had been unfortunately declined. As someone who is a house owner, with nothing on credit cards, no debt other than my mortgage, has a history of taking out loans and paying them back when supposed to and has never had any financial marks against their name and wasn't even close to being near their credit limits, I told them I was confused (and angry) as to why this had happened however I wasn't surprised as I had seen so many similar stories on line. They had zero explanation for this. The most annoying part about this is that they waisted a month of my time just to decline. I then went with Tesco, accepted that day at 2.8%, sent me a pack straight out and I got a text message within 4days to say the money was in my account. Everyone save yourself the time and rejection and just go straight to Tesco... AA you are officially a shambles.

The Worst , most disrespectful company. I had applied for a loan and which was accepted in principle. Then received a letter and signed it and sent them back online that was also received by them and they said money will be transferred in 3 working days and very small percentage of people some time may be asked for some more documents. AA hasn't contacted me for a week and then i contacted them to ask what was happening. She said sorry it has been declined. I said if it was why don't you let me know by either an email or letter ! Also why did you ask me for so many documents and asked me to sign the contract ! Then she just hanged up the phone. Still haven't received any letter or email. Disgusting horrible company. Hope some legal action can be taken aganist this useless finance company. They store our documents and also ask us to sign a document which they store as well and then decline you without letting you know. ( Btw my credit score is extremely high and never missed any payment in my life )
