These are the worst contacts. Tear so easily, left with parts of lens stuck in eyes. Tried 4 from a total of 6 - all were torn. Threw out the remaining 2. My eyes are a mess. Never again. Back to Acuvue - more expensive but have never given me the problems I had with Proclear.

I tried the lenses and really liked them for comfort and clarity. I used to wear lenses some years ago and had stopped. These new lenses are much nicer. While trialling them I tore a couple including one leaving a small piece on my eye. Having worn lenses for 8 years I felt once was possibly bad luck but three times was an issue Reading the advice to remove the bit of the lens I realised the trick for safe, reliable and repeatable removal. Simply drop a small amount of the lens solution in each eye and blink. The lens is now soft and comes out easily everytime Hope this helps someone

they tear very very easily. Not worth buying as you pay more eventually. they are comfortable but not worth the hassle

I finally found perfect contacts for my vision needa at age 45. Farsighted + powera, astigmatism -2.25 cylinder and bifocals +2 N and D. This is after having RK 20 years ago. Proclear multifocals torics are the worst contacts I ever had to deal with. I just paid $641 for 1 year of contacts which rip within one day and caused a corneal abrasion in my right eye when one tore up directly on my eye. Problem is that these are the only contacts accomodating all my vision needs. Bummer. I hope I can return my remaining boxes to ther online retailer

I've worn for years. Problems in 2010 and now 2013 with tearing within a few days or weeks. Last lens tore in my eye. Scary.

I used to be able to order one box of torics for six months. But the material they are using rips very easily. So I now order two boxes. Try a different manufacturer if you want torics.

I have worn contacts since I was in 4th grade and never had a problem with any of them tearing. I noticed that since November of 2012 my CooperVision Proclear Toric contacts have been tearing after only one day, the worst part is that they tore inside my eye and I am afraid it has caused some damage.

My daughter was given samples of Proclear Toric by CooperVision. The right one was ripped as soon as she took it out of the package so they ordered her some new ones, the left one ripped last night, while she was wearing it, which was great discomfort. I have told her to stop wearing them, it is not worth risk. Something definitely wrong with CooperVision after all the reviews I've been reading on the internet.

I was given these as a trial pair while waiting for my Hydrasoft EW lenses and these are the worst contacts Ive EVER worn in the 17yrs Ive been wearing lenses. They are extemely dry and the Rx is not accurate. I am severly nearsighted and I was suprised that this contact company even had a trial pair in my Rx (-15 and -14.5). I was excited that they were Monthlys and cheap instead of spending $150 for one pair but now I understand why. They are worse than my old pair that the Dr told me to get rid of!

They tear after only a day or two. I have worn lenses for years. I am also an RN and know how to gently insert an infant's IV line. I can be careful and gentle. Even so.. they tear when removing from the eye. Sometimes they tear right IN the eye !!!

I suffer from dry eyes and have a difficult time wearing contacts until I tried proclear. I can wear them over 12 hours with no problems. They are amazing!!! I would recommend to anyone. Well worth the price!

All the other reviewers are right: I've been wearing contact lenses for over forty years, since they were bigger and thicker than bottle caps, and these are by far the worst contact lenses I've ever had. They're ridiculously, uselessly thin, and they tear literally when you're pulling them off your eye. I take my contacts out every night and I've literally torn them within 24 hours of first use. Avoid these contacts like the plague, and be very suspicious of any doctor who'd recommend them, because there's something seriously off here.

I have been wearing contacts for 36 years. These lenses are the worst I have ever worn. I was wearing Biomedics 55 however their Rx does not go higher than a -10.00. I had a need for a -10.5 and so was recommended Proclear Compatibles by my eye doc. Right off, they started ripping when cleaning. They also appear to build up proteins on the lense immediately even with proper cleaning. I have been unable to wear these for longer than a few days due to discomfort or tearing of the lense. I was told these lenses were wearable for up to 30 days. Umm, not happening. Not only have I gone through more lenses in the past month than I should go through in 3 months, but they are more expensive than my previous brand. I did contact the company I ordered my contacts through, and they told me return the opened box and they replaced it but even though they sent me a new box with a different lot number, they are still defective. Fortunately, they have not ripped inside my eye, but from reading other reviews, it sounds like it is only a matter of time. I am going to try to find another manufacturer of my high Rx and send these back for a refund assuming I haven't ripped my way through all of them in the meantime.

I have been wearing contact lenses all my life. Proclear contact lenses are the worst I have ever worn! I work in the legal field and in my opinion, Cooper Vision has manufactured a defective and dangerous product. Reading reviews here confirms this--it's not just me who has suffered damages from these awful contact lenses! Other brands of contact lenses may rip or tear, but Proclear is unique in that they develop microscopic tears in the center of each lens, often after only a few days of wear. These are often invisible to the naked eye--I discovered this after experiencing pain, redness, and inflammation which prompted me to examine my lenses with magnifying devices. I was stunned to see these tiny abrasive tears, and several minute "chips" at the outer rims of several contact lenses. My vision has deteriorated, and my contact lens prescription has changed significantly since wearing Proclear lenses. My cleaning solution has remained the same, I take excellent care of my contacts, and there is absolutely no excuse for not recalling this product. I'm scared! We only get two eyes to last us a lifetime, and Proclear contact lenses have damaged my eyes. I'm going to research how many people have suffered the same thing. I suspect it's virtually everyone who has been prescribed the contact lenses.

same thing has happened to me but fortunately my eyes are not damaged, my optician has replaced the lenses free of charge but it would be interesting to know how many people have been affected by this.I use proclear multifocal toric lenses.

I agree 100% !!! Have had trouble with EVERY box of Proclear Contact lenses tearing - and I've been wearing contracts over 20+ years!!! Guess the doc thinks it's only ME and won't change them until I have another examine~~SURE why not, more money!!! I'll change doctors~

I confirm that the pro-clear contact lens are great. There are much more comfortable than other contacts lenses i have used. But there are also very tear prone. They only last a couple of days after which they develop microscopic tears. And when they do, there get much more uncomfortable than any contact lens i have ever tried.
Again they are great...until they get those microscopic tears.

These are the worst contact lenses I have worn in my life. Every single pair has torn in my eye after wearing them for less than a week. I will be returning the remaining boxes I have. Such a waste of money!

I've been using ProClear Toric since last summer and so far (knock on wood)I haven't had any tears. But I have to say that my trial pair was my absolute best. It was perfect and I was so excited to order more. However, the lenses I have ordered since then have not been as great as I thought they would be. I really don't know why since the prescription was the same. I'm on the fence about going back to Acuvue because of the cost. I'm not sure the tiny bit of improvement is really worth paying so much more per box. Plus, I notice that they don't last quite as long as other lenses. They acquire a buildup of protein sooner than Acuvue's and I am religious about cleaning them every day and not sleeping in them. I've worn lenses for 35 years now and I've tried them all. Not sure I'll stick with these. Probably not, unless they come down in price.

Amazed at the negative reviews. Though I guess contact lenses are a personal preference thing. I'm really happy with Pro Clear. Decided to go back to contact lenes after a 2 year break. Boots the optician pointed me in the direction of "Acuve Moist", so I bought a 30 day supply (£39 in total). After a few days I realised that my expereince was truely horrid. These things are so so wet they slip n slide all over. Just getting them into the eyes was a nightmare and often resulting in; 1) a ripped or damaged lens 2) fluff or towl thread just insantly finding it's way to the lens resulting in the lens being wasted ( as getting the fluff off the lens was near immpossible 3) air bing trapped behing the lens, creating an 'air-bubble' on the eye, causeing a horrid feeling of dis-comfort and non vision. So, even though I had 30 pairs, I'd go through 2 or 3 EACH EYE EACH DAY in wastage.... and so 30 lens lasted only 15. Bad value for money at £39.00 My other dislike was the world suddenly became super sized and large. I recall some funny sentances to my girlfiend; such as " has the steering wheel in the car, always been this large"......and in the supermarket " have they made the cans of baked beans bigger than the last time". Yep - my world became super sized. In comparision, I ordered 30 pairs of "PRO CLEAR" 1 day...and insantly everything was much better (yes, and the same perscription)....they went into the eye fine, they felt fine, they did'n't feel uncomfortable...and the world looked normal like it did with a pair of specs on - though obvisouly a lot clearer with a fresh contact lens. I'd happily spend my cash on pro clear, rather then acuve. Overall, I'd stick with Pro Clear lenses and give Acuve Moist a miss thanks.

Have been wearing contacts for 10+ years and never had a lense tear in my eye. When these tear into 2 pieces they float around the eye and are very difficult to remove. When I had the trial lenses I didn't have this issue but I have gone through a 6 month pack in 1 month. I thought maybe I received a bad batch or was stroing them in the wrong solution but after seeing others with the same problem it appears it's just a bad product. That is too bad because when in working condition they are the most comfortable and stay focused better than any othe contact I've owned. In the process of working with my eye doctor to resolve.

I have had the exact same problem - the lenses are tearing on the laser mark, and I am very frustrated because I found them very comfortable to wear. Can't find another lense that is as comfortable, but they really need to make the proclear lenses durable.
Written on: 17/05/2012
I agree. Very comfortable lenses that lack durability. Tear constantly even in my eyes. Too expensive to continue wearing and tearing. Must switch back to previous lenses.

What a disaster! Lenses tear after two or three removals. Had to go the doctor's office to have a fragment removed. I have worn contacts for 15 years without any problems. FDA should ban this product. It's a hazard! Avoid at all costs!

I have worn contact lenses for 16 years and I have never had even one lens tear. Since I started wearing the Proclear Toric lenses I have had 5 lenses tear-often within a few days of wearing them! With a 500 dollar price tag I am extremely annoyed! These lenses are clearly defective!
I only gave them 1 star because it was a mandatory field!
