“Poor Customer Relations”

Written on: 13/11/2017 by 123dhills (22 reviews written)

On the 12th October 2017 when I did my shopping at Lidl I bought a cheese and onion multi pack. When I got home and opened the bag some of the bags of the crisps had not been sealed properly and I had a whole load of loose crisps at the bottom of the host bag.I contacted Lidl immediately and they told me to gather a list of information (dates, barcode etc)After jumping through their hoops I waited, I contacted them to see if they had received my information,I was told that I would get a… Read Full Review

“UNREASONABLE AND DISAPOINTING BEHAVIOR FROM STORE WORKER”

Written on: 07/11/2017 by ROMPAV2104 (1 review written)

Once I went to the self check out and I was due to pay £17.51.I put in £17.01 as I was 50 pence short my decision was to put in £20 in note so I would have £19.50 change. The machine did not except the money so I called a store assistant t help me. They did something on it and all the machine gave out ONLY £2.01(Note; Before this I put in £17.01 NOT £2.01)They took the money and moved me to another cashier and in the end giving me £4.50 of change. Once I explained the hole situation to… Read Full Review

“Appalling guards and customer service ”

Written on: 12/10/2017 by Caveydavey (1 review written)

A number of good products but also a number that fall well below the standard of the larger super markets. Add to that the poorly trained and deeply offensive security guards that follow people around the store, staring and insinuating legitimate shoppers are shop lifters, the awful customer service that simply rejects any criticism out of hand, and you may want to consider another shop… Read Full Review

“Avoid Smoked Ham & Onion Tarts - Watch the Check-out ”

Written on: 10/10/2017 by MikeAW (2 reviews written)

Hmmm... I'm a fan of many Lidl foods but avoid the Smoked Ham & Onion Tarts. Under the crusty top coating they just seem like lots of soggy pastry and no sauce, hardly any ham to be found. I don't like their arrangement for check-out of goods. In their rush to get you through the check-out they often pile goods they've scanned on the scanner as there is no room for you to pack bags (I wonder if goods stacked on the scanner keep registering) and there have been occasions when the same item has… Read Full Review

“Bigger not better”

Written on: 23/04/2017 by 24Chaney (1 review written)

Since lidl expanded at grangetown in Sunderland the service and quality of food has not been good fruit bought went bad over two days shelves are not kept stocked as well as before and staff are indifferent when asked a question especially the younger staff. Saturday last the entry door stuck - eventually we were told to use the exit door and walk to the other end of the store to get in as the barriers were in place on the till aisles… Read Full Review

In Spain, this supermarket is a good supermarket when you want buy yogurt, ice cream, bread, but I don´t like the fish, meat, and it doesn´t have staff cutting ham, cheese,... I love their yogurt. This supermarket is very bigger and your attention is well. Every week this supermarket in their website to post a lot of offers. I bought a milk carton, but I break the carton but I drink a cup of milk, the milk was sour milk. The articles price its very cheap, you don´t have much money, you… Read Full Review

“Poor distribution network”

Written on: 15/04/2017 by lxReynolds129 (1 review written)

I've been quite loyal to Lidl over the past couple of years, but I think the time has come for a change. Some of the products are really good, for example the houmous, which in my opinion is much better quality than that sold at the major supermarkets. However, what lets Lidl down time and time again is the availability of regular stock items due to non-delivery. I know that Lidl don't stock the same range as the larger supermarkets, but I'm talking about items that they do stock. A couple of… Read Full Review

“bread on the floor ”

Written on: 25/02/2017 by 225Dempsey (1 review written)

Today I went to do some shopping. When I was picking my bread I saw a baguette on the floor. A man picked it up and handed it to a member of staff. When he had gone round the corner the woman put it back onto the shelf with all the other breads. This was not good at all and makes people loose trust in buying the bread from that shop. This does not put my faith in the shop and I would think twice about buying bread from their again… Read Full Review

“Parking costs”

Written on: 29/01/2017 by nolin (1 review written)

I was unfortunate to park at LIDL Francis Street Luton for 1 hour and 40 minutes and was fined £90 because only 90 minutes is allowed. This is a new development at this site and should have been advertised in large letters at the entrance to the store. I heard from another customer that similar schemes operate at other LIDL stores so I want everyone to be vigilant when parking at Lidl because with the fine shopping at Lidl is the most expensive in the UK high street.I will certainly never shop… Read Full Review

I am just pasting in my latest communication to the CEO " I say more, it is actually the second item bought that has food safety issues. The product is Milbona Natural Yoghurt 500 gramme. Use by date 12.01.17, unopened and kept at the top of our fridge. I cannot see a batch number. Has you can see from the photos the product is seriously fermenting, and is likely to blow soon. “Fruit and vegetables well past their best.”

Written on: 22/11/2016

Visited Lidl store Woodlesfod, Leeds 20th November 2016. Whilst being happy in my purchase of bread, meat and dairy produce, I was appalled by the quality of Oakland's fruit and vegetables. Oranges were green mouldy and rotting in the pre packed boxes and bags on display, the celery was dark green and obviously picked too early for consumption. If I had bought some, it would have gone off before it was easy to eat. I purchased some carrots, which were just ok along with a bag of baby… Read Full Review

“Lidl the best supermarket EVER”

Written on: 19/11/2016 by StockwellTiger (1 review written)

I used to be a supermarket snob until I went home to visit my family in Ireland and my mum was always raving about Lidl and telling me how great their laundry liquid and cat and dog food is so I decided to go with her when she went shopping and was surprised at the amount of fresh produce, cheeses, cold meats and especially wine they stocked. I live in London so when I returned from Ireland I went for a shop in Lidl Streatham and have been doing my shopping in Lidl since then 2012. I always… Read Full Review

“Could be better”

Written on: 28/10/2016 by HaidenMcGuire (1 review written)

They distribute unwanted junkmail flyers through the doors in the surrounding area. I had another one today. They spray the fruit with shellac from beetles and don't advertise this. Three independent local shops have closed since they came here. There are always their shopping trolleys dumped in the river, and they did nothign about it when I reported it. They encourage unnecessary car use - there's not even a safe pedestrian route to the local store. Lots of litter on the paths around the… Read Full Review

“do not go with a car”

Written on: 15/09/2016 by ballanja (1 review written)

I totally agree with this comment. Shopped at Lidl Chapel Allerton Leeds for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Went with my husband who is 70 and who is awaiting a new hip. We also have a medical condition which we need to be mindful of and we check ingredients of products which are new to us. As this was the first visit there it took some time but we left happy with a purchases totalling just over £100. I was delighted with the variety and quality of the fresh products and fresh bakery… Read Full Review

“Parking at Lidl .. beware”

Written on: 15/01/2016 by itsjustajoke (2 reviews written)

Lidl is not the cheapest if you end up with a £90 parking ticket for simply shopping with them. Long wait at check out due to lack of staff. The Parking Prankster web site SAYS "At one time Lidl contracted one of the larger parking companies to manage their car parks. However, once they learned how much money was being made by the company for overstays, they sacked the company and brought the operation in-house" In other words, Lidl pocket the parking fine to boost their profits. Ballanja's Response to itsjustajoke's Review

I was delighted with the variety and quality of the fresh products and fresh bakery items and fresh meat . I started to tell friends....... but to my horror we have received a £90 parking fine reduced to £45 if paid in 14 days. This has cancelled out the savings and made it more expensive than Sainsbury's.. who encourage you to take your time as they provide a coffee and food outlet in Moortown. So Lidl I understand that if your site is on a bus route just on the outskirts of a major town that you may feel that someone would park their car in your car park, but If you can see me come and go in my car, you can also see me come and go through the main doors to the store and pay for a large trolley of shopping as I will have been waiting in line for a good 5-10 minutes before I can leave. Therefore you do not get my thumbs up, you do not encourage a family shopper and you are not all you make out to be.

“The cashier was soooo rude”

Written on: 23/12/2015 by Cruzgj271 (1 review written)

I have always used lidl and when I went to its branch in Chelmsford few weeks ago. As I was packing she said ' hurry up ' I was astonished and shocked at her attitude. I apologised and said I m trying my best. After that day I have never gone back. The lady with short hair made us feel like a piece of string… Read Full Review
