“Took my money/filthy lodge/rude staff”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Misslisa1987 on 28/10/2022

Paid for a lodge from 3rd October to the 7th at hafan y mor lodge was filthy! Had bugs in kitchen toothpaste on walls sink ect! Paid in full for a silver caravan from 7th to the 10th of October but because I had a cough ect hafan y mor haven manager said we could not go in the silver caravan due to my coughing might be covid and wouldn't let us isolate in the lodge we were in either as they said other guests were booked to come into it the same day so the manager at hafan y mor said we had to leave the park/site and go home with no refund so did not even get refunded despite the fact that haven manager made us leave we did not want to leave! And wouldn't give money back despite making us leave! So Paid for 3 nights in full to be told we couldn't stay any of the nights! Rude staff! Appalling attitude to guests by staff! Haven should be ashamed!

“Lovely site very clean , The kids didn't want to come...”

★★★★☆

written by YanL on 10/08/2013

We have just came back from our holiday. This was our 1st visit to Haven Hafan y Mor in our touring caravan. We have stayed at haven in Blackpool a few times, which isn't a patch on this haven!! The pitches are very good & spacious & well maintained we had our dog with us as did many other people, all dogs seemed well behaved & no mess anywhere:-). We had lovely weather which was great. Staff all seemed friendly and there is a Burger King , Pizza & chippy on site. As expected there a bit overpriced . The arcades cost you a fortune but it kept the kids happy. There was plenty to do for children from parks, bike karts, Go karts & activities etc. The swimming pool was a huge hit with the kids, slides , wave pool & rapids they loved this. It does get busy though. Overall we all enjoyed the holiday and will be going back again. The reason I never gave this holiday 5 stars was down to the bathrooms on the touring side!!! The bathrooms are very clean BUT the showers are sooooo annoying you have to press the button every 11 seconds ( that's no joke) for the water to come back on, this drives you mad, also there is no temperature setting so you have to have the water at there temperature . I found it to be on the hot side. Also there is no shelf or holder to put any shower gel or soap on ,you have to lean out and put it on the chair in the dry area as there is no shower curtain or on the floor!!!! They could do with a mirror in the dry area & a shelf for a hair brush etc, not everyone likes to put there stuff on a wet floor. Also the partitions gaps separating the showers you could see through the gaps in to the next showers dry area & even through the door gaps only a tiny bit but you could see through them :-(((((( I spoke with a few guests on the touring side & the shower room facilities where there worst problem and only problem. Oh and if your not off your pitch by 10am your charged £5 to stay till 12, they come round about 9:50 to check if your going to be off in time.

“we love hafan y mor”

written by on 04/07/2012

we have stayed at hafan y mor for 6 weeks over the past four years and we love it, you get what you pay for as far as accommodation is concerned, go for a deluxe caravan or higher, the staff are helpful and friendly, the kids love it and so do us adults, we never want to go home, hence we are buying a caravan here this year!, we love that you can stay on site and not get bored there is so much to do swimming, sea fishing, chilling on the beaches or in the sea, club houses, boating lake, pedal carts, go karts, crazy golf, loads of water activities, arcades, shops, restaurant, pizzas, fish and chips, burger king, yes some of it is a tad expensive but you can shop at asda or iceland in pwllheli, and lidl, aldi or tesco in porthmadog. the towns around the holiday park are lovely, We stop in caernarfon on the way there and back, we have been to port meirion to, cant wait to go back again and again, might see you there!

written by on 20/03/2012

we arrived earlier than our check in time and went in the office to see if we could have our passes early which the helpful staff gave us our keys early and let us check in, we went to the 3 bedroomed chalet (comfort plus) that we had booked and it was fantastic, looked and felt just like a log cabin and was very modern and had everything we needed, it was very clean and fresh smelling and the beds had been made to a high standard, we had a lovely veranda with table and chairs and a gorgeous view over the sea to snowdownia, the beach was a few min walk whick is its own private beach, i suggest anyone going there take some sandals/pumps/crocs etc as its quite rocky with lots of pebbles, still very nice though, we went to do some shopping as we were self catering but we found the shop expensive so we went into pwheli which is down the road and went to asda where we kitted ourselfs out with everything we needed, we were there a whole week so we managed to fit in the mash and barrell restaraunt which was very nice with a good veriety of meals and also a childrens menu, we also had a couple of breakfasts there too which was very nice and satisfying, we tried the fsh and chip shop which was lovely, burger king was the same as every other burger king, the evening entertainment was good, but the bar was a little on the expensive side,( a little tip take a hip flask filled with your favourite tipple and buy a soft drink to add to it lol, ) crazy golf was fun, the pool was fantastic, lots going on for tots and young children, the charictures were fun, starbucks coffee house was lovely for a nice cuppa after swimming, the park was clean and tidy and staff friendly and helpful, the park itself is in a great location where its easy to go on many many day trips out, we are going again this summer and fetching friends with us, i have requested we are neighbours and hope they rise to our request, i would recommend to all, if you are just about to go and are reading the reviews before you go, dont listen to the ones who put this place down as they just seam to be picking at little things, go and enjoy yourselfs, we have been to many haven holidays and this so far is the best.

Hafan Y Mor was a excellent holiday from the moment we got there! i went with my boyfriends family and had a fantastic week! we got the train down there which was a bit of a pain but on the upside had lovely views on the way there. The accomodation was lovely and we were right next to the beach which was a plus side! There was loads to do and didnt even have to leave the site for the whole week. All the facilities on the park were excellent and kept the kids well entertained! This is definatly a family holiday and cant wait to go back in june!

“Hafan Y Mor Haven Stayed 01-08-11 until 05--8-11”

★★★★☆

written by on 18/09/2011

This was a five day break for myself and two children (age 12 and 8). Check in was quick and we were half board so had booked a chalet for the 5 days. The Chalet was clean and basic and close to the restaurant and swimming pool. The food was ok, the kids liked the idea of helping themselves and I enjoyed the salad bar. There is lots to do for the children and and this is where this holiday site excels. We had full days and so did not bother with the night-life (which is atypical holiday site entertainment). We enjoyed the five days and had lots of good weather. My only moans are 1. I thought I was being clever purchasing the activity passes online prior to arriving- this was a waste of money-as many of the activities are £4 whereas pre-booking we paid £5 per activity. Also the kids were dissapointed as all of the water-sport activities were fully booked already. I would suggest you book these activities on your first day. 2. On the day of checking out we were to vacate our chalet at 10am. I packed the night before so that we could go for our breakfast and then come back to the chalet to have one last check to ensure we had not forgotten anything , go to the loo etc. We went for breaky at 8.45am and got back to our chalet at 9.30am and suprise suprise the cleaners were already in there and had been in there for a good half hour by the looks of it as they had done the beds and bathrooms. Very frustrating- as we were unable to do a final check, and go to loo before our long journey home! I had a word with reception and she just said that if your chalet looks empty then the cleaners come in before 10am. This should be changed and 10am should mean 10am and I would imagine lots of people end up leaving phone chargers etc because of this! Overall a pleasant holiday-but considering it cost £750 for the three of us for 5 days half board- there should be more things to do free during the day-time.

Just been informed today(25/4/11) by staff on the owners desk at Hafan y mor, that if you are in possession of an "Owners Exclusive" Card (one of the 10 that are granted to owners of Caravans) it NO LONGER entitles you to sign in and get free day passes for your family, that are holidaying with you. Thus, the extra cost for a family of six adults(one holding a Owners Pass), would be £190 per week(5 X £38:peak season).Rather expensive if you just want a pint and a game of bingo!!!Makes you wonder if it really is wise to purchase your own van!! The Owners exclusive card now only entitles you to one free pass, for one day,for one person PER VISIT!The cost of the entertainment passes(correct at 25/4/11) are PEAK SEASON: Adult £38, Child £19.75, OFF PEAK: Adult £21,Child £11. So to all "Owners Eclusive" card holders, and to ALL who book a holiday without the passes included, BE AWARE OF THE EXTRA COST!!

“I stopped at Hafanymor in June last year,I'm a 14 year...”

★★★☆☆

written by on 25/04/2011

I stopped at Hafanymor in June last year,I'm a 14 year old girl and i wouldn't say the holiday was for people my age. I got to take a friend with me and my mum, step dad and three little brothers. If i didn't take a friend i don't think i would of enjoyed pretty much anything in my opinion. The rooms were clean but very small. There was a covered up hole in the bathroom but that wasn't a major issue. We was short on cutlery so we had to get some from reception the woman at reception looked at us as if we had done something wrong. The holoday park was a clean area but quite boring. Some of the staff were great others a bit mad for eg- me and my friend went to buy some crisps from the shop at the show bar we put the crisps down and said we are going to choose something else she said: no, you have to pay now..which i found quite funny but rude. There really wasn't anything to do but go swimming but that was great lots of slides and a mini pool for my 5 year old brother and a couple of others. The lifeguards were very friendly! The arcades were fun but money grabbing but my brothers loved it especially my 5 year old brother who was asking to come with me and my friend everyday..the only other thing to do during the day for my age was go to the beach which wasn't very pleasant it was filthy but once again my brothers enjoyed it aged 10,8 and 5..the only other thing for the younger ones is the 'rory' clubs but my brothers didn't like the sound of it my older brothers did love the football! The only things left to mention was the night entertainment..there was to entertainment bars but only good on the odd night for eg- the comedian was hilarious!but it was nice to be able to get ready for something at the end of the day..another thing..the drinks were cheap for the kids only 30p for a glass of blackcurrent i would only recomend this holoday to a family with kids under 10 years old but the holoday was full of great memories but like i said this was only because my friend came. :-)

“We booked a short 3 night break through the sun for...”

★★★★☆

written by rachflorence on 23/03/2011

We booked a short 3 night break through the sun for 18th March 2011(me, my partner and 5 year old daughter). We were worried after reading some of the reviews on here, but we didnt need to have. We arrived at 4.10 and checked in straight away (no queues) and we only had a standard apartment, and we were pleasantly surprised, clean and spacious, two good size bedrooms, new carpets, double glazing and flat screen tv with freeview. I believe they are in the process of doing all the apartments up. The site itself is massive and has undergone refurbishment since last year (2010). There are now landscaped gardens, patios and water features. The take away venues are good, fish from the fish shop is gorgeous. We were not as keen on the food from the mash and barrel though, their breakfasts are dear and tiny portions. The pool is great for the kids, they will want to stay in there all day. The playgrounds are great and there is a free bouncy castle slide. We hired bikes which are fun but a bir pricey at £8 per hour. The arcades are ok, bit of a rip off as always! but kids like them. The staff were all friendly and we would definatley holiday here again.

This is the best holiday I have bin on in ages the accommodation was excelent plus it was near to the restaurant the food was amazing my children (13+11) did not complain once about the food , entertainment and the night time clubs . They fit our standards to the max if anyone juges this holiday wrong i fell deeply sorry for you . We are very much wishing to come back very soon my daughter asked if we could live there wish i did live there , In my opinion I would reccommend this to everyone i no it has high expectations and evan higher qualitys , Therefore I would never complain about anything what (hafan y mor) should upgrade or revamp it is the most perfect holiday , camping site , self catering holiday that me and my family have bin on and I would never judge .

written by drhoward on 22/01/2011

On arriving in our half board standard chalet it was clean and plenty of room for myself my partner and son,the bathroom was large and well appointed. The half board restaurant was clean and the choice of food was basic but good and you can eat as much as you like. The facilities on the park are varied and well run by helpful staff, the pool with its slides flumes and jacuzzi and the go carts being favorites with my son. The park is within easy reach of local attractions the ffestiniog railway, Port Merion, and Harlech Castle to name just a few. The entertainment was reasonable and if forced to make a comparison i would say that its on a par with Butlins. On site shopping may seem pricey when compared to say Tescos or Asda but more on a par with your local shop. Highlights for us were the amenities on the park the food and the proximity to local attractions, it must be good as we've booked again for this year which we did in October to ensure getting the week we wanted, I have recommend Haven Holidays Hafan Y Mor park to friends and family as a good value park.

written by scania on 30/12/2010

we stayed in a appartment right by the beach, fantastic views!!! but cold, the kids enjoyed the pool & slides, also went on the aqua boats and had loads of fun, i loved the starbucks whilst the kids loved burger king and pizza!!! the accomodation was clean and spaceious, i liked the fact that you dont really have to go out of the complex for anything unless you want to go sight seeing to pwllheli or surrounding areas, pwllheli town is quite busy in the summer time with lots of people about, we had a lovely lunch in the mitre hotel there, a very friendly pub right in the centre of pwllheli, theres also plenty of supermarkets to choose from there too, as the shops in hafan are very expensive so its worth going out sometimes just to get food, but HAFAN Y MOR in general was a great holiday the kids had a brilliant time and we intend to go back soon.

CARVAN WAS NICE BUT WE DID UPGRADE.
STAFF AT BOATING LAKE WERE RUDE ASLO CALLED A MENBER IN OUR PARTY A DOG (SHES 14 YEARS OLD).
SWIMMING POOL WAS GREAT SHAME THAT THE CHILDREN COULDNT GO INTO THE POOL WITH OUT A ADULT EVEN IF THEY ARE STRONG SWIMMERS.
HIRED BIKES HAHAHAHA I DONT THINK ANY OF THE BIKES WERE SAFE (WE HIRED 8)
A YOUNG GIRL WAS ATTACTED ON THIS PARK, WE WAS TOLD BY THE BOUNCERS WE SHOULD WALK AROUND IN 3'S FOR SAFTY.
HAVING PAYED FOR HALF BOARD "EAT ASMUCH AS U LIKE" STAFF AT THE RESTRANT SLAPPED THE FOOD ON THE PLATE, WHEN I ASKED FOR ANOTHER SASUAGE I WAS TOLD NO.
WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PARK EVEN IF IT WAS FREE WITH SPENDING MONEY.

We stayed at Hafan Y Mor oct /10 booked through The Sun and have had a lovley stay there. We upgraded to a deluxe with heating and couldnt have been any happier, it was absolutley beautifull, we were as snug as bugs in rugs. In fact we ended up turning the heating DOWN rather than up!
we were nice and close to the facilities, pool was fab, brilliant for kids. The complex was exellent, lots of things to do, and activities for kids. I have heard of staff encouraging kids to buy merchandise but never encountered any of this during our stay. restaraunt was good , a little unorgainsed, but food was good. as with many of the haven sites, this is an exellent site for familys with children, plenty to do, reasonable prices, cant comment on beach though as we never quiite got there!
only bad comment would be that the site itself is very poorly signposted. we got lost several times!
