We paid £572 for 4 nights from August 7th . We could not check in until between 5pm and 7pm and had to leave by 10am on Friday so really only a three day stay . The caravan had not been cleaned properly or at all with food all over the floor and footprints on the seats . When we tried to cook a meal we found that there was only 1 very dirty saucepan with no lid , no frying pan, and no grill pan although the grill pan handle was there . We reported all of this to the reception and they sent someone to clean up which left the seats all wet from whatever they cleaned it with , they also said the missing items would be delivered which never happened . We have also told Haven when we got home about the graffiti on the footpath leading to the beach which includes the words F***K the police which is nice if you have kids . The remains of old inflatable toys shoved in the bushes behind our caravan and the hundreds of cigarette ends around the doorway. I would be willing to forgive Haven all of this if they responded properly to our complaints but they have just fobbed us off and said they hoped we would come back .

this is a new experience at craig tara and this guy has loads of patience with the children. He spent a great deal of time and effort working over last weekend with our children and our children cant wait to return to be involved in den making, starting a camp fire and learning about nature. This activity really made our holiday.

Lovely site had a lovely time with my girls photos are very good ,but the swimming pool and caravan could of done with a revamp, swimming pool had areas which needed a good clean also swimming pool is not suitable if you have disabilities evening entertainment was good would also advise you to obtain a activities pass before coming as lots of activities you need to pay extra for also go karts really should have a track as I got knocked over by a 7 to 8 year old on one with no parents watching I wouldn't let mine use them without supervision at all times but they must have paid to let him use the go kart as parents need to sign and pay before they use it haven may need to do a health and safety review on go karts and follow up accident reports

Have been going to Craig Tara for the last 3 years, twice a year.Just back yesterday from a long weekend break for my wee boys 3rd birthday. How dissapointed was I. Went to check in waited 15 mins before anyone acknowledged I was there , only one person in front of me. When I was attended to I was so please to find out our caravan was located in the golf village. We arrived at our caravan and I was disappointed as soon as I walked in. I booked a prestige, this was not prestige caravan. It just didn't feel or smell clean. I read the guest feedback card and it took 3 maids to clean the caravan it should have been immaculate. They set our dining table up with dishes and wine glasses , they where all dirty I had to wash them all. Beds weren't made properly found crisps and small toys underneath the beds also in wardrobes. The kitchen units, lounge furniture where covered in finger prints and where also sticky. The arcades where also very tired and dirty, alot of the machines didnt work but was quite happy to take your money. The only decent place was the mash and barral staff where very hard working and food was great,we ate food there every night. It's such a shame that we had such a bad experience as I have always praised craig tara enough.Sorry to say I won't be going back, read so many great reviews about Butlins so that's where we will be going next year

After reading many negative reviews on here we were a little worried about what we would find at Craig Tara!! We stayed half board the apartment was fine not the poshest of rooms but we didn't pay posh prices. The food was good and plenty of it! All staff on the camp were friendly, cheerful and happy to help! My two girls are 15 and 11 and they both loved the camp. It was a lovely sunny week when we went and we spent many hours exploring the camps beach it has lots of rock pools and gorgeous shells to collect. We would definately return again!

Just back from an amazing week in Craig Tara On arrival to the park 2hours before check-in opened we where greeted with friendly staff at reception who gave us out park passes to enjoy the facilities in the park until our caravan was ready. We stayed in a delux caravan in Aran view and it was out of this world very clean and the view was outstanding. The entertainment was amazing and the funstars where brilliant especially Ben, Adam and Jordan We ate in mash and barell every night which I found to be good value for money however the portions could be bigger. The staff in there especially Duncan were brilliant very friendly and helpful. Two downsides one was the swimming pool it needs longer opening hours, a wee bit updating an the slides need to be open more. Second is the funpark it needs serious updating. Apart from that it's a brilliant haven site I have already booked to go back next year and got it or half the price I paid this year. Having previously been to the haven parks in Marton Mere and Devon Cliffs personally I think that Craig Tara was the best just put the swimming pool from Devon Cliffs in it

No complaints. We are no strangers to Cameron House and Gleneagles. Accommodation is always sterling. Entertainment is better than Centre Parcs. Great value for money.

Upon arrival at park everything looked good untill you opened the door to the caravan, the smell of vomit was the fist thing to greet you.The floor was filthy all sticky, the seating was covered in juice as was the tv unit it had crisps stuck to it.As for the pots thay had been used by prevous occupants and put under the sink unwashed.Three people signed the card on the table to say that they were responsible for cleaning that van i would personally sacked the three of them an absolute disgrace.I called receptiom who sent out a cleaner who set about cleaning the van and nt as badsomeone to shampoo carpets in the bedrooms, came back later to find the smell still there, she had washed the floors ,they were bad before but they were worse when she has finished. Next day called reception again they sent someone out to deoderise the van all though the smell was still there it wasnt as bad but the second bedroom could not be used.I have written to head office to complain as I have spoken to several other people who have had similar experiences, its a disgrace you save all year for a holiday, and you get there and the accomadation is way below standard at no time were we offered alternative accomadation . First and last time at craig tara and certainly would not reccomend to my worst enemy avoid like the plague.

first time at craig tara there was 6 adults and 6 kids in different apartments half board, found the apartments wernt so spacious but managed to live the week in them as most the time was out, park nice clean and neat caravans were spaced out great, half board was great food was good choice to choose from and always hot, staff were friendly also, even though there was a lot of people dining in this restaurant there was enough tables due to people coming and going, kids loved half board so much they asked if we could get this next time we go instead of self catering, speaking to a lady that worked in turnberry gardens she let me know there was not going to be half board next year which was really sad for her as she worked in the building for almost 30 yrs also people like to go on holiday to relax and half board helped this happen so really sad to see this go hope haven bring it back soon as alot of people spoke about this and was upset that it was going entertainment for kids in bongo wonga was more for the younger kids so youngest daughter had a ball but older daughter and son didnt have much fun in here and was a tad bit bored at night ,swimming pool everyone enjoyed even though there was slight accident in fast flume were 1 of our adult party went down and flipped over onto his stomach while going round a bend and bashed his face, fast response from first aider though. they got straight to work and patched up well so thank you to them they really done their job well and older kids loved this pool so they were happy through the day. kids always asked to go to park aswell could do with more swings i think as kids started cueing up for 1 older swing but really nice bit to relax aswell, prices of things that kids can do thats scattered around the park can be bit pricey but tried to choose the best i could do with them as i was spending more when going into funworks with them, we went 29 june and sitting in bonga wonga club at night was way too hot as was packed with people but had to sit there for kids even though they were sweating aswell staff had fan facing them in bar and also says they felt it for us as we didnt have one cooling us down, people was trying to cool themselfs with paper fans eventually they opened a side door which didnt make much of a difference , was in live lounge couple of times and felt that was bit cooler but wasnt the place for the kids as most time bingo was on in there, overall though we all had a great time at different points through the day and hope they bring half board back for all who enjoyed it

Ayr75, if you care to read my own review again you will note, I did not take a £9.50 holiday!!! I paid a ridiculous amount for the attrocious conditioned "platinum" level caravan. Best on site I believe!!! Anything else stated in my review is completely true and accurate, as experienced.
The only thing that is off is the arrogance of haven in treating customers in this manner, and refusing to address any complaints. Realistically, nobody expects the Ritz at a holiday camp, and I'm pleased that this overpriced, rundown, filthy site and its disgracefull ACCOMODATION satisfies your exacting standards!!! However some of us expect jist a little bit more for our hard earned money!!!
Written on: 06/07/2012
i dont work there but i do holiday there 2 times a year and some of what you have said is rather ott to say the least any accommadation which is infested with ants is taken out of use until it is cleaned if you only payed for a standard caravan thats what you will get some people expect the ritz well you wont get that there your review is like most of them on here more than likely from people who booked through some news paper promotion and want top grade accommadation at cheap as chips prices.

Ayr75 must be a staff member!!!!!
This guests experience is indicative of the attrocious accommodation, and disgraceful attitudes towards customer service offered by Haven, and their staff at Craig Tara. I reitirate the advice " DON'T GO"!!!
