Manhunt (XBox)

I got Manhunt because of its bad publicity I now understand why but the people that say its bad dont play these games. You want a game with blood and terror this is right up your street. Don't play this game with a fragile state of mind ha.

Manhunt is an excellent beat em up XBox game, with a strong element of stealth. You play James Earl Cash, set up by a rich voyeur famous for making snuff and real life violence movies, to make some additions to his recent production. You are pitted against a host of criminal gangs with different weapons and specialities. The graphics are excellent and the environment, bleak city ghettos, back alleys, concrete jungles, scrapyards and subways, eerie and realistic. As Cash, you are rewarded for killing your enemies who have been told of your presence in as violent a way as possible, and once the controls and sneaking up on foes are learned, you can control the extent of violence with each kill. A plethora of weapons can be found, but unfortunately are not all available on all levels. In fact you are restricted to only a few each level. Fighting rather than stealth killing is frustratingly, but realistically hard, and it would have been nice to fight with some of the weapons available without being killed so easily. The fear factor is high, and the soundtrack devoid of music but full of heartbeats and monotone sounds and bass lines, adding to the atmosphere. You will never feel so satisfied delivering death blows in a game, and it is the games dwelling on the kills which no doubt gave it the notoriety it deserves. The final levels take place in and around the director's mansion and make for an excellent finale, although a longer fight/death for the person responsible for your participation in the game of death would have been more satisfying.

Get Manhunt, you won't regret it!! It's a proper boss game. Not for the faint hearted, there's tonnes of blood and gore!!

I played this game due to the fact that it was banned in Germany! Had to see what the fuss was about! I found out and it totally rocks! You sneak around hide in the dark whilst people are looking for you and you execute them to get to the next stage! It seriously spooks you especially when playing in the pitch black there's nothing better!
