Stride Rite Ari Shoes

I bought a pair of Stride Rite 'Ari' girls shoes back from the States for my daughter. They fitted well but after a couple of days of wear, it was difficult to keep the double velcro strap tight as the hooks of the velcro seemed to have worn away.Trying (perhaps over hard) to keep them closed, the stitching on the fastening itself started to give way.Then after a week the pink sole started to come away from the white middle sole - and eventually my daughter started to wear them like slip-on slippers.They were also expensive - at $55.Is this representative of all Stride Rite shoes - probably not, I might of just got a bad pair - but I doubt I would ever buy a pair again!
