ESET identified a root kit that attached itself to the PC. It has now cost hundreds of $$ to get the OS removed and re-installed because the anti-virus did not do its job. The sales person stated flatly that I should ALSO have purchased MALWAREBYTES to catch the things that ESET CANT. This would have been good information to have BEFORE I PURCHASED this product. It is still a quick antivirus scan tool, but buyer beware, this is not complete protection for your PC.

I have used ESET NOD 32 since 2007 with no problem. On renewing it I upgraded to version 6x, and with it my problems arrived. The system started to freeze without further notice. As I could not tell any reason for that (such as using a given software, heating, etc), I contacted the support. The answer was to uninstall and reinstall, which I did twice, with no results. A new contact had the same reply, so I decided to remove it and replace by avast. It finally solved the problem, although they will not refund me. I use windows 7, and will not come back to ESET, of course.

I have used Eset NOD32 Anti Virus for 2 years, so far. Its quality has never decreased or it has stopped working. Auto-updates whenever needed!

I have used Eset Nod32 for many years (since version 2) now and it has gotten better every year. It runs with the minimum of computer resources and never fails to stop a virus from infiltrating my system.
I am what would be classified as a 'power user' and I only buy the anti-virus edition. The only time I ever notice it is when a virus attempts to take hold on my laptop. I find that in conjunction with no-script for Firefox they both give me unrivaled protection for my web browsing experience.
I spent a fair while investigating the performance of all major anti-virus vendors before buying it in the first instance. I now recommend it to anyone who asks me about anti-virus software and I have never been infected with it installed.

It is a very efficient programme. Runs quietly in the background. I bough it 3 years ago and then every year after. I recommend you to buy the whole package (Security Smart Software) rather then the antivirus on its own. In the last 3 years I had only one issue with this software,.... when I had to download the 4th version and the programme have not notified me about this option. It was the cause of frustration for many people as the version 3 did not work with Wind. Explo.8. I rang for the advice and received it by the phone and e mail as well. Perfect service. Never had a virus or any infection. The best thing is that it doesnot interupt my work with notices and is the lightest on the system of all anti-softwares on the market.

if you have an older PC read this. I have just installed ESET NOD 32 on my 7 year old Toshiba satellite pro and it is proving a real winner. After being plagued by very slow processing, a 20 minute start up time, and the bulk of my 1 GB of RAM being consumed by Norton 360 and before that Mcafee, ESET is a real fresh of breath air.
The install is quick and simple, the disk space required is half that of Norton 360. A welcome return to what my lap top should be doing, serving me and not an antivirus program!

What I like about this most it does not slow down your computer like many others.

Really tried most of the security software. Finally, the easiest software I have ...ESET nod32 antivirus 4. The only problem is its price usually is the same for most sites, but worth the money. I bought at a good price. From: anti-virus4u.com bestantivirus2010.com

I used to use Norton and that was great until is expanded and became bloatware which took over my machine, grinding it to a halt, hangs etc. As yup it was Norton as everything sped up once gone.
I then swapped to free AV solutions as I was put off paid AV from my Norton experience, after using various solutions I stuck with AVG free and was fairly happy with it.
My friend recommended this NOD32 thing from this unheard of company ESET and was like, what is this?
But it was easy to install and sits quietly in the background and my machine is virii free! I love it, it does not hog system resources and offers great protection. Top product, and will be renewing my subscription!

I've bought Nod32 for 40$ for 1 year but with NOD32 I've got big problems!
Internet Explorer isn't working with NOD32!!! And my ISP informed me that this is not seldom but 'Usual Problem' with NOD32. And local'Help' of ESET company didn't help me! For this reason I stoped using NOD32 (so my 40$ will be a gift to ESET Company) and start to use AVG free antivirus.

I don't know about this mate, I installed NOD32 on over 350 PC's in my company since Windows 98 and I've never seen or heard of a problem using Internet Explorer and NOD. Only thing I can suggest is that there was 3rd party software causing the problems. I think that guy from your ISP was just telling you what you wanted to hear!

The best software I have ever bought. i did not even think twice when I went to the store to get myself the Business edition for the server. The Anti-virus has made my PC totally virus free and the great thing is that it does not allow Trojans to establish ports on my system. It regards a bot as a virus. With this, my PC is ultimately secure and I would cherish it. I have 4 more months for the subscription to end and I would even regret about extending the subscription! Must Buy!

I'm not sure how big they are but whenever you communicate with them they come across as a small company. They really care.
I've had a couple of problems with the software (running on 5 machines) and they are always resolved quickly and efficiently.
It's a tiny little programme so certainly won't drain resources.

I tried the NOD x1 month free download, which is JUST anti-virus ('AV') but not a firewall as well. I wanted both, because M/soft's firewall isn't reliable. I liked the NOD prog, because it was so unobtrusive, --sitting quietly in the corner doing it's stuff, and the download of updates was also very discrete. However, ...when I looked at the head-to-head professional reviews, I discovered that the full suite is fairly pricey, AND it wasn't efficient enough at catching all viruses / Trojans out there (apparently) and I need a top-class, ultra-reliable AV and firewall setup, as part of my living is earned from pc work. I nearly went for Bitdefender and another prog, but in the end settled for the full Kaspersky Internet 2010 suite, as it met all my criteria. But BEWARE!! --Shame that many reviews didn't point out that Kaspersky is badly written, and conflicts with _any_ little trace of other AV's on yr system -even if never installed, --such as the McAfee dross which loads automatically with XP Pro! {see my separate review on this site, re Kaspersky 2010}
I wish NOD would sort their prog out a bit more, and then I would happily buy it.

nod-32 is a supercool powerful antivirus software, i would like to see its user interface improved so that it gives pleasant feeling to the viewers, this software is super effective in removing hard to clean virusses, on the disadvantage part this software is lil costly, but i wouldnt mind spending money for this super cool soft, they need to improve their virus signatures
i would surely recomend this antivirus to professional users

I used my Eset NOD 32 A.V. for only 2 months and have to replaced it with Kaspersky. The performance and quality of scan is good but I noticed that it is slowing my P.C.. I guess the resources it needed to run was quite huge that it slowed my system.
Else, this A.V. performed quite well, nothing to complain about that, just it's toll on my PC resources. That's all.

Even the best Anti virus programs do not detect 100% of the viruses/root kits.
This could have happened also with Kaspersky/Bit defender and alike,
In short: There is no anti virus program in existence that protects your PC completely.
It is always good practice to do a scan with Malwarebytes if you don't trust the way your computer behaves.By the way, there is a free version of Malwarebytes, so you don't have to buy it.
It is also good practice to inform yourself (Google) before buying an anti virus solution. Don't rely on a sales person for your information. If you had done a simple google search you would have known this.
By the way: hundreds of dollars to get your OS re-installed on a PC????? I do that myself in about an hour. If I where you I would question the Sales Person and not ESET.
But the most important thing is: Use your PC with care!
