I have 3rd party only motorcycle insurance from Aviva. The insurance of the party who is at fault in the accident I was involved in said they can't take details from me and advised that I go to my insurer. I called my insurer - Aviva, only to find out they won't talk to the other insurance to discuss my claim. I find it appalling that even though I am insured and I have all the details of the person who hit me and who admitted being at fault, I can't make a claim.... You never expect much when dealing with an insurance company, but congratulations to Aviva who managed to fail to meet my expectations that were very low. Just a little background. I was involved in an accident with someone insured with Aviva. The police found that they were at fault so I was contacting them to try and claim for the damage done to my bicycle. UK riders beware: I have just contacted my brokerto add a Ducati Panigale to my existing bike insurance. I bought this Aviva policy precisely so that I could do that. Only to be now told by my broker that they are not covering any version of this bike because it is a new model. This will force me to cancel my current policy, get only six months of refund for a policy used for only four and find another insurer. Working as a courier, I had been insured with Hill House Hammond until they ceased trading. When I renewed my policy with Norwich Union Direct my policy effectively doubled, as I had to have separate (price-hiked) policies for each of my machines. I feel quite a considerable distance from happy. So much for progress!… Read Full Review
