Well constructed and nice padding on ear they would probably be great if youre a dj but not if you like to hear anything other than sub. Top ends quite crisp but probably a bit prominant as well. Far far far too much bass. Can't listen for long periods without getting severe fatigue. For this price the sony mdr-7506 are a far better choice… Read Full Review

If it really is the HD25 you tried, and not the HD25 SP (which I suspect), you really are wrong - and that's not even an IMO thing. I agree that the bass is a little muffled around 80 Hz, but then the muffleness dissappear. This muffle will appear in any kind of closed phone - in contrast to open. The midrange is not over-emphasized - or un-present, but pretty natural - and so are the highs. The V6s (that are basically the same that you mentoned - 7506) has another kind of sound - IMO not that good - snce it has a smiling sound (eq.).

Actually I have some sympathy for this reviewer and to an extent the review is correct as the HD25s are designed for DJ use and NOT for audiophile listening. When the HD25s are used for DJing they are extremely good, however for audiophile headphones look towards Beyerdynamic as they generally display the more "natural" characteristics it seems you are looking for in music. They're considerably cheaper than the HDs too.
